We saw a table of four ladies order the carafe of sparkling cocktails and they clearly enjoyed the order--their glasses came with fresh flowers on each. Lovely. A glance around the restaurant showed other diners were clearly happy. Hubby had the steak frites and I had the poulet frites. Both were great. For dessert, the lemon tart was full of body and luscious and the strawberry gelato was clearly fresh. Service was spot on. Chelan is a seasonal resort town, so many of the servers are 20 or under. I don't know the age of our server Sophie, but her service was top notch and clearly surpassed her age. The place is lovely; decor is tasteful and thoughtful, the restaurant was spotless and it's a lovely dining experience for a great night out. This will become our habit in Chelan.

The grilled salmon with dinner potatoes was the star of the night--perfectly cooked, flaky, and full of flavor. Absolutely spot on. The crab cakes were a good size with lots of crab and a nicely crisp exterior, but I did find pieces of crab shell in mine. The side salad that came with it was the biggest disappointment--no option to swap it out and the lettuce was visibly brown. We also ordered the mushroom pasta. I didn't personally try it, but it looked great; however, I was told the flavor was a bit lacking. Dessert totally redeemed any small issues--the chocolate mousse cake was incredibly decadent and rich. Definitely a must-try. I even took a slice home for my husband. The coffee here tastes good but tends to deliver a bit too much of a caffeine punch for me, so I need to remember to order a split shot. I appreciate that they include honey at their self-serve station so I can add the right amount I know I like. I tried a veggie frittata this last time as well and thought it was okay. Cute tees, to-go mugs, and other merch for sale. Looks like they operate as a wine bar in the evenings though I've never come in later in the day to try them out. Maybe next time.

This establishment also offers a kid's menu and although I usually have my kids eat from whatever I order, we decided they cam order a plate of their own, which was spaghetti and chicken tenders with rosemary fries. This is primarily because of the onion allergy and he wanted a view. They put us in the middle of the dining hall. We asked about the view, the seating hostess "well this is the best view." There were three tables out on the patio. We had a view of a bridal party and bros who were spilling their drinks. I after a lengthy back and forth about food items, I was instructed to order protein and sides that were safe. What I ordered: scallops cooked in a butter, lemon and white wine sauce order a pasta of the chef's choosing. What she kept ordering were plain scallops, buttered noodles and a side of vegetables. I kept correcting her that I did not want buttered noodles. I stead of listening to me, she kept asking me what type of noodles I wanted. She didn't allow the chef to choose, she wrote linguini. I tried one more time correcting her, Steph wouldn't fix it. The lack of communication is sad. The food: I wish I could talk about the food. I got tasteless butter garlic noodles, three very small tasteless scallops, a side of shaved parmesan and a side of vegetables. I paid $45 dollars to be fed a meal worthy of a picky 2 year old and not what I ordered. I cannot fault the chef. I have no doubt he hated making that dish given what was on that menu. Adorned with crispy zuchinni, it was just wonderful. My rosemary roast chicken was terrific. More French inspired, it was juicy with a flavorful crisp crust and the best crispy fingerling potatoes and roast carrots, the bernaise style sauce was equally tasty. We've tried the Bistro in Chelan which we love, but this meal was equally special and the value was terrific - each entree $20 or less. We're excited to see what other things they produce.
