My family and I came here to try out one of the bars in Broadway, and the person at the door assured us that they were playing the World Cup and there was a $5 beer special--we should've asked which ones because it ended up being one that's similar to Coors Light. It's a pretty spacious bar with live music like pretty much all of the bars on broadway. The band, Freds, was absolutely amazing and had some of us dancing and singing along, especially after the crowd asked for them to play more rock music. As for the food, I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken Quesadilla. It was a solid 7/10, which isn't too bad for bar food in this area. This is a bar you have to check out when in town! read more

We've been to lots of bars on Broadway in Nashville, but last week was the first time we stopped in at Lucky Bastard. Walking down the street on a Friday afternoon, the band inside drew us in. The place was hopping but we found a table up by the band. When there's a good band playing, the vibe in these bars is electric and that was definitely the case here. I forget the name of the band, but the girl playing violin in Devil Went Down to Georgia was amazing! Drinks were great and we also ordered the pretzel and queso appetizers which were very good. We were looking for a spot to have lunch after a line dance lesson and happened to see the giant "Hot Chicken" sign on the building. I loved how the time we went it was slower. We were able to get our food quickly and we had a front row seat to watch local country singers. The people we saw were great. (Thank you for taking my Brad Paisley request). At first I thought the food was insanely priced but I was wrong once the food arrived. I got the 2 piece tenders with fries and coleslaw. The tenders were basically cutlets. They were massive. I was lured into Lucky Bastard Saloon purely by their giant 'Hot Chicken' sign, as that was exactly what I was looking for after a line dancing class nearby. This was the final stop for our group as the streets outside became flooded with people. We hadn't eaten since 3pm and somehow it became 9pm - funny how that happens! Luckily there wasn't yet a line at the door and we were able to go inside, find a table, and order some food (which was decent and reasonably priced). While walking along Broadway, we were looking for a place to eat lunch. Finally, I asked Diane to "pick a place--any place," after which she soon brushed by the barker in front of this establishment. He looked pleased and beckoned us to enter the packed place. To our delight we secured seats near the bar at the only open booth available. While a live band churned out a series of covers of rock and country hits, we were handed menus that featured numerous offerings of comfort food. For appetizers we ordered White Cheddar Bites and Fried Pickles that from a distance looked like wiggling French Fries. And, while Diane opted for a medium rare plain Greasy Bastard Burger with Crinkle Cut Fries, I chose a Lucky Philly Steak Sandwich with a side of Onion Rings that were overcooked. My Philly Steak Sandwich with Mushrooms was tasty and filling. Diane's burger was more medium than medium rare as ordered but she still found it to be okay. And, we clearly had ordered more food than we could realistically eat. So, some Cheddar Bites and Fried Pickles were left behind. We stumbled upon this Honky Tonk because my fiance loves skulls and that was their logo. Once inside, the space was very open with many high top long tables for great viewing of the live band. Everyone was dancing and grooving to the music, which made a fun vibe. We also got free Jell-O shots with a purchase of drink, so that was a nice treat! There were always employees coming around to clean up the tables and bottles, so the place was kept so clean --big plus for that as it allowed new people to sit down right away. read more

The Lucky Bastard Saloon was one of the first places we stopped at on Broadway and we had an amazing time! As soon as we walked in, we went straight to the bar and grabbed a drink before heading to enjoy the band. The good thing about this spot was that it had two bar areas; one near the entrance and the other near the band area, which made it easy to get drinks all night! The bartenders were fun and the specialty drinks were great! The band was amazing!!! They were singing hit after hit and definitely kept the crowd going! People were sending song recommendations for $20 and they had a tip box for anyone that wanted to give extra. I highly recommend checking this spot out. I had a great experience. The gentleman at the front door invited my group and I inside for some food and drinks. This was pretty awesome since everywhere else we went to couldn't accommodate for our group of 10. We were on the rooftop area where they had live music. I believe the bartender's name was Lauren, she was super cool and helpful in recommending food. I ended up going with the Greasy Burger and fries. read more

We are here now. The band is awesome - playing a lot of classic rock and alternative covers which is a welcome break from the non stop country. Apparently the singer was from season 15 of The Voice which is cool. Kayla is awesome and really good. She treated us well. We didn't eat here, but the drinks were good. This is one my favorite places to take people from out of town when they want to hit broadway. It's fairly easygoing and usually has a great band playing. We sat at one of the tables closer to the stage and our server took great care of us, making sure we had all the drinks and food we needed. While bar-hopping up and down Broadway we popped in to scope it out. We were there a bit early so it wasn't too crowded but the people were fun, the bartenders were nice, and the music was great! We drank, danced, watched some football, and had a fun. I'm sure this place gets crazy packed later in the night and if that only serves to amplify what we experienced then you can bet you'll love being here. we were in here for a very short period of time so I'm going to give this location a good review they were jampacked had live music on two different floors and everyone seem to be having a really good time. We weren't able to grab any drinks, but I did like how the security line was moving pretty quickly and it wasn't too obnoxious inside. How does one differentiate one bar with a live band from the one next door, that might be swapping bands depending on the week/night/month... Lucky Bastard was one of the stops for the night, and when we were there the entertainment leaned more on the rock side of things, but YMMV depending on when you go. It was a Monday night, and one band was finishing up their set and the next one was up and performing within 15 minutes. The room is pretty big, and it is loud. The bar selection was fine. There were plenty of whiskeys for me to choose from, which I always like. With so many places shoulder shoulder, find the band that works for you. read more

Went to several different establishments on this day and this was number 4. HAD A BLAST! Taylor, our bartender, set the tone early with a big smile and wonderful personality. Every bar in Nashville is packed from 11:00 a.m. on and we weren't there until about 5:00 p.m. After that long of being behind the bar I would understand if the servers were burnt out and short with customers. But Taylor--while short in stature haha--was perky, funny, and quick. She almost had our drinks ready before we got to the bar for a refill. We did not eat anything here so I can't review the food but the menu did look good. They had a great band that day but I didn't get the name. Doesn't matter though. Every band is very good. There are LOTS of choices on Broadway but I'd recommend you give these guys a shot! read more

WOW lightning can strike twice in the same spot. Went down to music row again and heard a great band playing and where was it coming from the lucky bastard saloon. The band was unbelievable The Isaac Harris band. Their selections of rock and country kept everybody in the bar happy. The two lead singers really played to the crowd and got everyone involved. I've lived in Downtown Nashville since 2021 and have been a big supporter of this bar on Broadway I've always thought it has one of the nicest decor and setups inside. Very cool sexy interior. However always wondered why is never busy when all the other bars are. I am such a fan. I've been there this last Halloween the last two New Year's and try to go there almost every week since my girlfriend works downtown also.. I've also bought about five different hats from there because I wear them out fast and several other merchandise like shirts. Tonight I went there, wanting to return and unwarned T-shirt. My girlfriend bought for me wrong size. Had the receipt didn't think it would be a problem considering I bought so much clothes there and I've literally spent thousands of dollars there as a regular patron . The girl in the merchandise shop on her phone 99% of the time greeted me poorly like it was an inconvenience. When I mentioned I wanted to exchange something. She was quick to point out the no returns sign even though it's not listed on my receipt. . I was hoping they would make a exception, especially for such a huge fan of their bar. I was even wearing one of their hats tonight when I went there and mentioned I've been a long time, patron and supporter. After she was very unhelpful and rude, I asked to speak to a manager, and I stepped outside, waiting for him to show up . When the manager did come outside, I noticed she had to come outside and stand close by to listen to the conversation which is completely unprofessional and inappropriate. Like most managers, he pretty much defended her position and said a return after three days is out of his hands because of the computer system and went on a 10 minute speech on how that works.. the bottom line is they would not let me return a $30 T-shirt especially when I was about to upgrade it to $100 flannel shirt and probably would've gone in there and bought a couple rounds of drinks for $100. Doesn't seem like great customer service or business model to lose all that money over a $30 T-shirt and especially someone who's been a big fan and actually has defended that bar and many conversations with other regulars. Like I said, it's beautiful inside and has been one of my favorite bars until tonight now I know why they're always empty when all the other bars are crowded. It must be a management situation if they don't appreciate their local patrons they're definitely not gonna appreciate tourist coming in. . I have pictures of me wearing their hat in different states even different countries over the last several years They lost a long time fan over a $30 T-shirt I wouldn't waste your money at this place. I would absolutely recommend this place. We spent the most time (and money) at this bar in all of Nashville. We were upstairs on the rooftop deck and watched a great band play, and chatted with our tablemates who were a group of women from Missouri. There was also more of a rock band downstairs and the place was packed. The only bad thing about this bar is that there are no upstairs restrooms. Cool atmosphere too. Not super country, which is fine with me. It is also not one of the places owned by a famous person, which is also fine with me because some of those places looked obnoxious (IMHO, even when I was in my 20s it would not have been my scene.) I would go back here. It kind of reminds me of places in NOLA or Key West. We noticed that drink prices throughout the entertainment district were the same anywhere we went, which is not cheap. 20 bucks for a bottle of Bud Light and a 7 and 7. So to be honest, I only ever stood outside of this place, but I stood out there for quite a while listening and experiencing the performances! I was visiting Nashville and wanted to check out the Honky Tonk Highway, and I was overwhelmed by the number of bars with live music options. However, while passing outside the lucky bastard saloon I heard a group performing a cover of Jolene by Dolly Parton that totally blew me away. The performers were so good, that my mom and I stood outside the open window area for a solid 20 to 30 minutes, just to listen to them. Inside it was quite full, we thought about going in, but it didn't really look like there were any easy openings for a table/seats and we didn't want to stay in one place for too long. Overall, the inside looked really fun tho - lots of purple light accents. I can't comment on the service, but the folks in there looked happy with their beers and after having experience several bars that night, if I'd had to have picked one to sit and stay in, it would've been this one. That goes for both the quality of the performers that night (which may may not be the same on other nights), as well as the vibes inside the place, which seem to be one of the least tight/squeezed that we walked past despite the fact that they were a LOT of people inside. read more

Decent space to go have some drinks and listen to good local love music. Decent sized stage and an open area in front of it for dancing. We came at 2pm on a Monday and it was surprisingly lively. Bizarre, but perhaps normal for Broadway in Nashville. We're not from here obviously. Both bands we saw did a great job. Food was very good. I was dying for some Nashville hot chicken so we stopped in on a whim. Medium or the step above seems to be the perfect amount of heat (unless you're with the boys trying to prove yourself). Service is lackluster and confusing. Signs say food is upstairs, but it was only served downstairs this day. It was difficult to find anyone to talk to in order to get some food. Finally we did, we were given menus and told to sit wherever. After 20 mins a different waiter from the one who said "sit wherever I'll come find you" approached and took our order. She was friendly. Food came out and my girlfriend's order was incorrect. I tried to tell the guy who ran the food out as he was rushing away, he made eye contact and just turned his back to me and ran away. Pretty upsetting. It was eventually fixed by our original waitress. Service is very slow. There seemed to only be 2 waiters in the entire full restaurant. read more
