Lazy Day Pool was recommended to me by the home inspector. I began working with Chris in February, and I have been very pleased with our communications. I am single and this is my first pool; so, I had to trust him for installing all new equipment including a heater. There was a "bump" along the way which has encouraged me to continue into a year contract with him because of how he handled a misunderstanding in our communications. Even the plumber installing gas lines for the heater told me that he was surprised how responsive Chris had been with our communications after I had paid him in full. I am very pleased with Ken, the man that comes weekly, and all the employees of Lazy Day Pool that I have spoken with including his mother-n-law who answers the main number. I have great confidence that if there is any problem in the future that Chris will "do the right thing" and correct whatever it may be. Paid in full up front 5 weeks in advance. On the day before scheduled install I was called and informed the order had not even been put in yet to the manufacturer for the liner. This was to be installed the week before memorial day to have a pool party for graduation and the beginning of summer. Honestly they might do great work if you can get that far. I was actually referred by a coworker who raved about them. Unfortunately I never got to find out. I've spent almost a month just trying to get a full estimate. I've rearranged my work schedule more than once for an onsite visit that didn't happen, and still haven't heard back on the equipment quote I sent pictures for a week ago. It's felt very much like my time is expendable which is frustrating. If they were too busy to take on my project, I absolutely get that. I just would've appreciated being told that upfront versus being bounced around. They're nice enough people and other reviews speak highly of their work. If you can manage to get the work quoted and scheduled, maybe it's a smoother ride from there. read more

But what really sets them apart from other companies became even more clear just a few days ago. I was having issues with my pool equipment not working properly. Went online to get a quote. Despite saying the quote was online, it wasn't - I had to put in my phone number and email. They did not give me a quote. Then they spammed me for 48 hours with advertising emails claiming price match guarantees and offering me drawings for 1000 etc. I replied asked them to stop sending advertising and just send the quote or I would block their emails. And then they sent an email saying they were going to "pass" on my job. Waste of time dealing with these people if you are in the west metro. read more

Great Pool Company, Representative Mike came out and gave me a reasonable estimate within 24 hours of me contacting them. Job was started within 10 days and fully completed within 3 days. New liner installed and all old equipment and debris was hauled away when they were finished. Two repair technicians were on time and very professional as they worked on my project. I would definately recommend LazyDay Pool and Spa for pool repairs. Best pool company I've ever dealt with. They installed a new liner in October. I was nervous as I was about to close the pool. They reassured me it would be fine. We opened the pool in May with no problems. I found the seam in the liner was coming apart. Called Chris. They came out the next day. Took pictures and told me to go online and pick out a new liner. It came in 2 weeks later. They came out and installed it. I found out later that I picked out an upgraded liner. No charge. Customer service is top notch. read more

Originally, i had a positive experience with Lazy Day when they installed my pool liner before my deadline. I even went ahead and paid for the weekly maintenance in 2016. When the weather began to change, i had them close the pool the week after the last service. In 2017, when i opened the pool, i used the same company and again paid for the weekly maintenance program. After 1 week of opening and treating the pool - it was still green. I complained and was told my Chris that I can pay $800 and have a compang come to my home every day for 4 days until it was clear. I was told that the pool was so bad when they opened it, that it would take 3 weeks to get it clean. Chris said there were so many leaves in the bottom that they could not get it all in one visit. Well - the only company that was maintaining the pool was Lazy Day. So if it was so "bad" when they opened it, they are responsible for it because they both opened and closed it!!! It is horrible that after 4 weekly maintenance visits, i still dont have a clear, blue, clean pool. I am finding another company immediately!!! I do not recommend this one. I will first say that the owner, Chris Ward, is generally a nice guy, but he completely botched our pool and when confronted with the issues, his way of responding is to get defensive, retreat and then blame the customer. We've taken our case to the Better Business Bureau as well. I would NOT recommend you hire him to build your pool, and I would encourage you to email us here for more details and pictures. If you do hire Chris, you must make sure you are present EVERY DAY the work is being done, and hope for no disagreements. Also, don't let him talk you into a cartridge filter: you will spend more money buying clean cartridges and they cost more to clean than sand, and Chris knows this. This spring, we spent a grand finally replacing our cartidge filter with a sand filter. The following is an incomplete list. 1. I came home to find that the crew had dug the hole for the pool in the -wrong place-. It was way too close to the home. Not where we had marked or agreed. We were able to "move" the pool four feet in the right direction before the concrete was poured. 2. The contractor Chris hired to install the light switch put it smack dab in the middle of our lawn without any discussion, versus trying to hide the annoying fixture in bushes a few feet away. Somehow this was our fault. We had to pay the guy another 150 dollars to move it to a safer and less conspicuous place. 3. Chris filled the pool before installing the 500 watt light. The light sits a few feet into the water. I called to warn him as they were filling the pool with water. In the end, he had to return in freezing weather, in his swimsuit, to install the light. 4. The crew left ungalvanized nails just below the surface of the concrete decking of the pool. Within weeks, the salt from the pool water creeped into the concrete and rusted the nails, leaving rust stains on the concrete lip surrounding our brand new pool. Chris, the company's owner, had to come out again, in the cold, to dig into the concrete with a tool, remove the rusted nails, and then use a concrete patch kit to fill in the holes. The color of the patch does not match the original concrete. 5. By far, our biggest issue was this: the pool plaster. First, the color was wrong. Second, Lazy Day Pools and Spa made a mistake installing it, and later had to DRAIN the entire pool to re-do the acid wash. We had what's called "scale," and Chris Ward avoided my concerns for weeks until the chalky build up at the bottom of our pool looked like someone had poured in bags of white sand. When he finally agreed that there was a problem, it was now just before Christmas and we were out of state. We did not want them doing any work without either of us there. Chris now was strongly arguing that he would not honor our warranty if he had to wait until we returned home the following week. In the end, Chris's fix (to drain the pool and re-acid-wash the pool), left the bottom of our new pool discolored and patchy. We argued for new plaster, and Chris refused. We tried to hire an independent specialist to come out and give his assesment, but the specialist refused to accept our business and later confessed he had a relationship with Chris Ward and Lazy Day Pools. 6. Many of the photos featured on Lazy Day's website are NOT pools built by the company. This was confirmed to us by the serviceman Lazy Day sent to clean our pool every week. There are palm trees in some of the best photos. 7. Our pool's pump and plumbing were not adequate for the pool size and run, and we had to spend thousands replacing both. We just had a new liner put in and a large tanning deck installed in the pool. Lazy Day Pool and the team are awesome! Not only did they do a great job but stayed in contact with me the entire time letting me know when they were coming and what they would be doing. They didn't try and sell us stuff we didn't need and try and make the job seem more difficult like other companies did. The end price was exactly what the estimate was and there were no surprises. Even when the weather didn't cooperate they came and did what they could. Our pool looks fabulous! The only thing they didn't do was make it 85 and sunny outside so I could start using it now! ;-) read more

pretty straight forward on the one star. had Chris recoat my pool with a glass bead material that he was so proud of. At first it looked great, so great that he broght two potential clients by to see it. Well two years go by and we notice staining and a small crack. Contact Chris and total radio silence. Ended up acid washing the pool to eliminate the stains, but the crack continued to expand. Another year goes by and get an unsolicited email looking for a recommendation.... funny... I responded and challenged his request based on the lack of response. He gets all defensive and accuses me of insulting him in my email, will gladly post the back and forth for all to judge. Then he wants proof from me thst we tried contacting him during the warranty period, sorry don't see a need to keep old phone records. After weeks of diversions he gives me the number of the subcontractor and tells me to work it out with him since the warranty has expired. Nice... never expected to charge this as warranty, just wanted it fixed or a fair price. I did work it out with the subcontractor, crack is patched. No follow up by Chris, but then again why would he follow up on a complaint for something outside of his warranty (maybe to get a good review). This company deserves 10 plus stars. Fantastic customer service outstanding work. I recently had a liner installed and the process went super smooth my liner looks great. As a matter of fact this is my second liner I had them install. I have been a customer for over 10 years and they have always took great care of me. Chris is very good about answering any questions I have concerning my pool. You can call him anytime and he will call you right back. Ken is exceptional when it comes to any repair work or parts needed. He did a great job on installing my pool heater. Mike was on it when I texted him at 4:00 AM in the morning concerning the water level during the liner installation. He texted me right back and instructed me on what to do. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Lazy Day Pool and Spa had the best price ever and their service is phenomenal. Chris met with me and worked out his quote. Let me tell you my pool was so damaged and unfunctional. It had been down for a few years. The liner had fallen in, lots of leaves had gotten into the pool, the pool surface had to be repaired and It had roots growing. One side of the concrete deck started slanting which caused the coping to pull away and I was told by another company that they had to practically tear my whole pool apart and get all new coping. Chris said his guy Mike could repair it and have it looking new again. Mike tore down my old concrete deck and rebuilt me a new one attaching the same coping. The process was very quick. They were very concern and cautious on the steps they took to repair my pool because as they were tearing down the concrete deck they didn't want the walls to collapse so they built precautions and had my pool up and running within a week. I can't wait till Spring to reopen it and enjoy it with family & friends. read more
