Egg was brought out w/bacon and a promise waffle to follow. Bacon and eggs were cold followed by Belgium Style waffles that appeared to be the toaster ones, also too cold to melt butter. We love Lazy Oak and had great past experiences. I've recommended this place to friends/family and also went out of our way to take friends there. However, we live in West Mobile and recently went on a Thursday around 11am. I don't want to sound like a complainer but it was an awful experience. I won't harp on all the disappointing details, but my biggest complaint being the drink glasses were disgusting. Slick with grease, inside and out. It was so gross. I heard the server say to another table that she was new to Lazy Oak, but come on. I would NEVER serve a drink without looking at the cup. We will take a break from Lazy Oak and will go to Toasted Yolk in Biloxi instead next time. read more

Decided to try this location after searching the area for a new place to try. Must say it was so good that I came back a second day in a row. Both days I sat outside on the deck and enjoyed the weather. The deck is nicely shaded by large oak trees and has a large fireplace for cool evenings. The tea was sweet and fresh. The first day I tried the Bistreaux Burger and right then decided I was coming back. The burger can be ordered on French bread or a biscuit, I opted for the homemade biscuit and was glad. It was dressed and had a fried egg, I ordered over medium, and candied bacon. It had a small amount of maple syrup, not drenched, but just enough. The burger was fantastic. I came with a side which I chose garlic butter skillet potatoes. Good choice. My second trip I tried the Cajun shrimp grits which were covered in a Cajun cream sauce. They came with Texas Toast which I asked if I could sub one of the biscuits. I was told it would be no problem, +1 for allowing subs. My wife and I arrived to enjoy a relaxing breakfast. We were seated outside at our request on a beautiful day and waited for 15 min before I asked the hostess to have a server recognize we were customers. When our server Katelyn R., who did not greet us, finally took our drink order we simply placed our breakfast order at the same time due to us being hungry. After a getting our drinks coffee, water and a mimosa it was another 20-30 before we received one pancake each( what we ordered). And the server evidently couldn't remember to write down the side order of candied bacon (the reason my wife wanted to go to Lazy Oak). Went for the atmosphere and food only to have someone serve us that is in the wrong occupation with zero people skills. I chose the Cajun boiled grits, which were seasoned very well with a nice Cajun cream sauce. My mom chose the Porter platter, it's a great sampler choice. Stopped by Wednesday morn for a breakfast. There was only one woman working the dinning room, and there were 4 other tables filled when we got there. I ordered the Chili bang bang grits - this is not a spicy dish, it's a drizzle of the sweet Thai chili sauce. When the meal was served, the grits were not even warm enough to melt the butter that is sitting table top waiting for you.
