Texas T tavern turned into the "Holland Heineken House" during the world cup and I'm glad to have visited here the day before the Dutch/Sweden game. I've been an avid Netherlands' futbol supporter over the last 30+ years and never knew a place existed in Houston.. but was pleasantly surprised to have seen this packed house with a very lively atmosphere inside.. They got a DJ, people were singing and dancing along to Dutch songs, definitely felt like a proper watch party. Most of the crowd there tho, like myself, weren't actually Dutch, but everyone was just there for the vibes. That said, we ended up standing outside because it was probably over capacity. Took me a good 30 minutes just to order a bucket of Heinekens. From what I can tell, this place's giving more of a neighborhood dive bar. It was hot and crowded as one can get (probably over capacity if you ask me.. the parking was hard to find in the neighborhoods nearby and we had to walk a good 5-10min), and $35 for a bucket of 6 small Heinekens isn't really the best deal.. but can't blame them. I did enjoy seeing the Dutch orange bus as it was out on display right outside the bar. Definitely a no-frills dive bar in a spot of Houston that is off the beaten path. I came here for a group happy hour - had to drive through a few neighborhoods to get here and was surprised to find this place randomly situated on an industrial-like road. When I said no-frills, I meant it. The drink selection is quite slim and for someone who go out of their way for beer, there weren't really many other options. Our large party had a buffet of food - all of it was basic but tasty - panko-breaded chicken tenders, chips and queso, and quesadillas. Service was actually stellar throughout our time here. Bartenders and servers came around to our group frequently to ask if they could get us anything. I did not expect that from a divey bar like this. While I wasn't blown away by this place and probably don't have much reason to come back, I can see why folks would come out here for a drink or to watch a game, especially if living in the Spring Branch area. read more

I visited Texas T Tavern for the first time on St. Patrick's Day, and honestly, the atmosphere was great. It was a chill spot, and my friends and I enjoyed having a few beers and grabbing a bite to eat. Unfortunately, my experience after that completely changed my perspective. My friend and I had separate tabs, and at the end of the night, she paid for the 4 beers on my tab, so my balance should have been zeroed out. The next day, I noticed a $100 charge on my card. I called the bar, and Denise was able to identify that something went wrong, but said she didn't know how to fix it and advised me to call back the next day to speak with the owner. Since then, I've been calling daily with no resolution. At one point, someone even told me the owner "didn't have time" to address my issue. I've left my number multiple times and haven't received a single call back. It's really disappointing because we genuinely had a good time, but the lack of follow-up and customer service has been frustrating. I understand mistakes happen, but the way this has been handled is not okay. Just wanted to share my experience so others are aware. read more

I came on a Thursday so It was all that busy or anything, I would love to see it on a night that they are having an event i know it would be five stars The bird was so nice, his service impeccable LOL! The bartender super attentive, once she new my drink i didnt have to repeat what i wanted she was on it for the refills. This used to be Brittmoore Icehouse years ago. In 2014, they redid the space and it's now Texas T Tavern. I went for a birthday party and I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed the evening. TTT is dog friendly, has a nice large outdoor patio with beautiful trees to provide shade, large TVs everywhere to catch a game, great service, very friendly staff, terrific drink prices, live music, and lots of available parking. There's also a small party room for private events. They have food to order. Quesadillas, chicken strips, and other.Finger foods. I didn't get a chance to see the menu outside of what was provided for the party, but I did see their advertisement for Thursday steak night, so they probably have a full menu. TTT has a resident 8 year old parrot named Baby. She's a talker and is not fond of women. She's very entertaining. The inside area is right off the patio. The whole place is open and cozy. They did a great job renovating this place! Whether you want to shoot some pool, hear live music, watch a game, grab food/drinks, or all of the above, TTT is your destination! read more

TL;DR Atmosphere reminds me of some bar from Sons of Anarchy, except better lit. If I was a bar fly, I think I'd like it more, but as someone that's straight edge, Texas T Tavern suffices as a great place to play darts, watch the Astros, and hang out. Oh, I think there was a bird out front too? What's someone that doesn't drink alcohol doing in a bar? Yep, you guessed it: peer pressure. Those no-AP credit health classes in high school warned me about it. I went to visit during the Derecho (hell of a time to visit) and when my friends arrived, there was a downed tree in the parking lot but nobody in the bar paid any attention to it and kept drinking while watching the Astros. Something, something, priorities. Oh, and if the Astros score, the bartenders ring a bell. I guess it's to wake up the people at the bar so they buy more beer? Seems predatory, but whatevs. We just played darts and fiddled with a broken jukebox. There was also an option to play pool (whose money taking machine was malfunctioning) or tabletop shuffleboard. My friend ordered some drink (which I did not like when I tasted it). Oh, I liked the restroom decor though. Reminds me of the restroom at the House of Blues (minus the weird paper towel attendant). Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing experiences I've had. The bartender's attitude was extremely unprofessional and made the atmosphere uncomfortable. If it were possible to leave no stars, I would. I'm not sure why someone with such poor customer service skills was chosen to represent the bar--it reflects badly on the establishment. I came out hoping to enjoy myself but left feeling disgusted and let down. This is my second time going to this bar. It's kind of like a neighborhood bar ducked off on brittmore. The crowd seems like people that go here on like the weekly basis. They have some pretty good drink specials, they also have this cool colorful parrot That is in this cage. I always enjoy seeing animals, but this parrot looked extremely miserable. His feathers were raised and it was not happy. I don't think animals should be at establishments with loud music trapped in cages. Isn't that animal abuse? Besides the parrot The music was decent, and they had plenty of TVs to watch the game. They also have this really good wing truck outside of the establishment. I have eaten from this truck Quite a few times. I think it's called four wings on wheels. That food truck is definitely worth a visit. read more

Didn't know dive bars had dress codes and multiple bouncers but this one does. I suppose that's a plus to weed out those bad apples and Dallas Cowboys fans. Near my apartment and also on my way home, this neighborhood outdoor dive has cheap drinks, pool tables, lots of cig smokers, and TVs for sports/events. I recall rolling here for some NFL where the atmosphere was festive since it's football. Most people were pleasant although some looked ready to fight and throw bows. Saw a couple people getting in arguments that turned into pushes/shoves. That was my que to close out and pay for my $3.75 Miller light bottles. I'll likely hit this place up again when I'm bored and hope no one approaches me about getting violent. I'm just here to drink. Not kick someone's ass. read more

Sam's Boat 2.0, this place is an indoor outdoor tavern with a large patio and grungy feel to it. Theres a small food station out on the patio where they sell easy stuff like tacos, sausage, burgers etc. Everyone seems to work or live nearby or knows someone who does. Liquor selection is average. They have everything to make common cocktails but don't ask for something like 1738. There is not much to any top shelf liquor here and if there is it's the main stream stuff. Beer selection is not bad. Lots of Texas beers I never heard of. This is a good spot to go when the weather is nice. Definitely worth checking out if you're nearby. read more

I came in here fora birthday event, I went in to feel it out and I was highly disappointed. The lights were so bright I was confused, the place seemed dirty and not well kept.. I called specifically for pool and asked how many tables were open. Once I arrived drunk people were hogging the table and one other table was reserved for a birthday. I wish they would have saved me the time of making everyone drive across town to go somewhere else. Not my scene, it's more of a dive bar with older white people in onesies ...? Love coming here! Great local bar and very nice outdoor patio. Yesterday was a beautiful day to drink outdoors so we made our way here. It was pretty busy for a Thursday but I can see why! Great service and friendly vibes. Staff were all very nice and accommodating. When you first walk in, you can see just about everyone mingling and there was even a giant talking bird outside. Pretty cool. If you're hungry, they have a little station for quick bites. We ordered some smoked wings. These were juicy and plumped! not too shabby. Was very excited to go especially since it's right around the corner, however I will not be going again. One of the worst bars you can honestly go to. The customer service horrible && if the bartenders don't recognize you they will not service you right away. I waited to get serviced for over 15mins when I see other people get there beverages right away. I think more people are giving this bar more credit than what's it's actually worth. Waste of a bar, powder keg was honestly a little more in price wise but the service they provide is night and day compared to this place. read more

I am a huge fan of dive bars and icehouses. It's probably strange reading that from a person who has traveled plenty and has lived in 5-star residences around the world. I adore the little unknown gems and dive bars of the world. I met a friend of here for a Rockets game. This used to be the Brittmore Icehouse and it reopened earlier this year as the Texas T Tavern. It's actually nice a little dive bar/icehouse. We were there on a Sunday afternoon and after the Rockets game, it was karaoke night. The drinks are fairly good and strong. And cheap. They have bartender there that looks like Mr. T from the A-Team. There's tons of parking up and down Brittmore and coincidentally I bumped into a some random people I hadn't seen in years at a place like that. I don't think there's any food, but they do have a band and a DJ on Fridays/Saturday nights. read more
