(Tookout 10/31/20 SA @ 4:30pm): No need to import these goods because the community of La Canada Flintridge is domestic!
Living during these COVID-19 times, my roommate and I have eaten a lot of takeout pizza as we have systematically been trying all of the neighborhood pizza joints and wherever we might be which was the latter case this time with La Canada Imports. Having grown up in the area and very familiar with them although I haven't eaten here in years, since I was in the area I thought it was as good of a time than any to reacquaint myself with this neighborhood eatery. I was a fan of theirs, so would that still remain!?

[ONION RINGS/STRAWS/STRINGS ALERT - 2.5 of 5.0 STARS]
Onion Rings ($4.25): A decent portion size of various shapes and sizes, these were hot, oily, burnt, crunchy, didn't crumble when bitten into while the onion ring (not sweet Maui) stayed intact. Minimal in flavor, the slightly runny ranch dressing it came with helped a bit - I probably wouldn't order these again https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=JhhrW3JDkyra3aCZ2jF9SA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw.
Mozzarella Sticks 6pc ($4.99): Fat-finger sized holders of thick cheese, these were nice to nibble on while being dunked into the provided marinara sauce - yummy https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=o4gPSraoszYoSCj-6pHiLg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw!
Buffalo Wings 8pc ($7.49): Slightly hot in flavor but smallish pieces, these were finger-licking good but probably wouldn't order again https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=VfMYxzC29mmf2cg-cVTjCw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw.
Eggplant Parmigiana Submarine Sandwich L ($8.00): Honestly the best eggplant parmigiana sub I've had in recent memory with its thick pieces of breaded eggplant, lots of melted cheese, and tasty toasted homemade bread - amazing https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=9WGac54O8md2tQclvQ_Wiw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw!
Greek Salad L ($8.25): Incredibly, one of the best Greek salads I've had solely based on the amount and size of the feta cheese layered on top and the abundance of all other ingredients - what a deal https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=feBBTDUjSEbkg42U0B5ang&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw!
Complimentary Homemade Bread w/Salad 2pc: These were eaten the following day for breakfast and were nearly as fresh as the day before - no reheating required https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=NUgpf0oGVnRsLMdhqLWCag&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw.
The Sicilian Pizza 18" XL ($23.55): Loaded with salami, sausage, bell peppers, onions, fresh garlic, mozzarella cheese, and marinara sauce on a puffy chewy crust - this certainly wasn't a pizza you could refuse https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=uLNFgoYCdi2WuSOAlezTXg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw!
SERVICE
During these COVID-19 times, they recommended online orders/payment for takeout although they also accepted phone orders (which I did) and walk-ups available. The gentleman who took my order was friendly and efficient. I arrived about an hour later with a long hungry line ahead of me. Once I made it to the front line, they grabbed my order from the back which they kept warm, I paid, and couldn't wait to get home and start eating - perfection!
PARKING (FREE)
They shared a tiny parking lot along with a 7-11 and another business, I luckily found a spot directly out front (sheriff's cars were always parked here). Otherwise there was plenty of parking along the main drag of Foothill Blvd. - 'nuff said.
ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE
A shack of a place, they had a couple tables inside and a small covered front outdoor patio for dining with the order counter once you entered that looked into the kitchen. Decent amount of natural lighting came in through the front glass windows and front door while standard electric ceiling lights covered the rest. There was a TV while music played in the background.
ATTIRE
Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops.
OVERALL
I was so pleased that La Canada Imports was still a wonderful neighborhood place to grab an inexpensive meal with tasty food and needed to return often. The menu was varied enough, but I'd probably stay away from the appetizers and stick with the entrees, pizzas, and sandwiches. The service was perfectly fine for what I needed. And, it was always a pleasure to support a mom & pop small business. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $62.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS read more
