This place has great food. My fav is the barbecue chicken pizza!! But the attitude of the staff is not very welcoming - maybe I just catch them on not a very good day- and the wait time is long. They said 45 min. Total wait time ended up being almost another hour. It's fine if your busy but I used to work at a food place so it's not that hard to just give a longer wait time so ur waiting on people rather them waiting on you. Food was good I had a BLT and my friend had a Philly. Only weird thing is that this Philly had lettuce and tomatoes, we had never had a Philly that way. Service wasn't too welcoming it seemed like the guy wasn't too happy to be there or maybe he didn't want to take our order. The vibe of the place was just off idk if they've never had Hispanic/Latino customers but we'd just get weird looks in general. Thursday @1:15 pm...first time visiting as we passed by it hundreds of times..ordered 12 inch pastrami and 12 inch roast beef to go. Lady at counter was great, knew I was a mother paying for son's lunch. She has a "true" personality like a New Yorker, maybe that's why some comments on Yelp misunderstand her. All I know is she knew what she was doing and got the customers orders rolling. Food was very tasty and had the right amount of everything. What's good on a hot day? Salad. And L C imports has that covered. They lettuce was packed in. I scoop some in a bowl and it looked like I hardly touched the takeout container. The dressing is top notch. I went for the balsamic vinegar. It was thick and creamy, not like a usual running vinegar. The wings were breaded and crunchy and did it amazing job of staying crunchy even drenched in barbecue sauce. The barbecue sauce was nothing special to write home about. But it was pretty good. I mean, who doesn't like barbecue sauce on super breaded fried wings. I'm just trying to wrap my head around how are they able to get so much breading and coating on a wing. When I first moved to La Canada 28 years ago, I saw ads for this place and thought it was a car dealership. It is definitely not that. It's a nice pizza, pasta and sandwich spot that continues to make good pizza (love the Works) and excellent sandwiches. We ordered their dinner pastas in the past and they were always good. Recently the lasagna was mushy and not good at all. Hopefully that was an anomaly. I believe their sandwiches are the best items on their menu. I have taken sandwiches to several nearby golf outings and treated my buddies to an Italian sandwich from Imports. Last night, we ordered a large Sicilian pizza and a family size carbonara with PENNE (totaling $80). When I brought it home, my kids and their friends (six hungry teenagers) noticed that the pasta was made with fettuccine instead. Is it the end of the world to eat fettuccine instead of penne? No. Is it disappointing to receive something different from what you ordered? Yes. I called LC Imports. My call wasn't to complain but to just say " hey, we got this instead, I hope our order isn't sitting on the shelf and/or I hope you don't potentially have another customer who also received the wrong order. However, when I brought up the issue with the wrong pasta, the response I received felt dismissive and rude. He told me they cook the wrong pasta but since pasta is pasta, he doesn't see a problem. WHAT?! When asking why didn't they let me know when I was picking up my order, he just said, "I don't know what else to tell you." I understand mistakes happen, but customer service is important. Man..I'm a snobby pizza lover from the east coast.. I love my NY style pizza. In LA there's only a handful of pizza joints I can eat at.. Prime Pizza, Garage Pizza, Pie Life to name a few..well LC Imports has made my list. It's really good pizza! It's our go to pizza joint since it's in the neighborhood. We opted to try this location, sorry to report we will NOT be back. We went here for the first time tonight. We waited in line and made our order and sat down and waited for it to be ready, an order of chicken alfredo with a salad and a calzone. Forty-five minutes later they called our number. While we waited, we noticed there were a lot of people who came in and were confused about how to pick up the online orders, whether others had already ordered and just a lot of general confusion.
