THE FOOD IS O.K. =============== My husband and I decided to pop in early on April 16th for lunch. I wanted to try their chicken parmesan. My husband wanted to try their eggplant parmesan. We got there early around 11:00 a.m., but it took about 45 minutes to get our order to go. That seems a bit too long for take out. The parking lot is horrible. Think of Trader Joes, but 1/20 the size. People park in handicapped spots when they aren't handicapped. The spots are really narrow as well, so if you want a door ding this is the place to go. We drove my husband's Hyundai and he isn't concerned with door dings. I would never park my car in that lot. My chicken parmesan was weird. It was pre-cut in small pieces so there wasn't that much on top of a full container of spaghetti. My husband loved the eggplant parmesan. As you can see I am on the fence about this place.

After a very long walk at Descanso Gardens, we felt hungry. We looked at Yelp and we found LC Imports. We found parking easily. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. The menu was very impressive. They have pizza, homemade specialty pasta, homemade pasta dishes, salad trays, hot and cold sandwiches, Family size salads, family plate dishes, chicken wings, garlic bread, potato salad, in addition to special plates. They offer pizza by the slice, but it is either cheese or peperoni. The menu also includes carbonara, lasagna, chicken alfredo, Primavera veggie, three formaggi, ravioli to mention a few. For dessert, they have Tiramisu and cookies. We ordered many delicious dishes and sandwiches. We got the following; -Large veggies Phill sandwich 5/5 Fresh ingredients and very flavorful. It was huge. I just ate half of it and I was full. -Potato salad 5/5 Very creamy , rich and perfectly seasoned -Large Roast beef sandwich 5/5 It had generous layers of roast beef, rich and flavorful - Chicken Alfredo 5/5 It was creamy, rich in flavor, had generous amount of chicken. It came with salad and garlic bread. -Primavera veggie 5/5 The amount was humongous. It was very tasty and creamy with generous amount of vegetables. -Onion Rings 5/5 Thick slices of onions coated with golden and crispy batter. -2 Slice cheese pizza 5/5 It had the perfect crust ,perfect amount of cheese and very flavorful. - 2 cookies 5/5 Freshly baked, the right amount of chocolate and perfect chewiness The service was fast, although the restaurant was busy. The staff were very welcoming and genuinely warm. I am glad that we found LC Imports, it's a great place. I will be back to try more of their delicious dishes.

    Chicken Parm Sandwich was excellent.

I've been wanting to come here for a while. I'm not often in this area but heard from others that's it's comparable to other local gems in my area like Scardinos and Hacienda Village Meats. Finally had the chance to come and it held up. They have a nice patio where you can eat. The price point is excellent. Food is great.

We showed up and the infamous elderly woman with a walker was working the cash register. We asked for a bbq roast beef sandwich with chopped pepperoncini (the menu lists available sides and condiments, this was one). The old woman shook her head no and wagged her finger at us. We tried to push back and request the peppers, and it seemed that she wrote down our specification. We the asked for a Reuben with horseradish added (again, available on the menu). The woman made a disgusted face, wagged her finger in our face again, and told us no. At this point a gentleman from the back let us know that they would be able to accommodate our request, and the woman again appeared to write something down. We ordered a pastrami sandwich, add pickles. Again, finger wag. At this point we were told pickles will come on the side. Ok, understandable. Get me out of here. Ordered two more sandwiches with no specifications because we didn't feel like being berated again. Now the credit card transaction: Woman didn't understand how to handle the transaction, again the gentleman from the back had to explain to her that she can tap the card on the machine. After 20 minutes we received our food with absolutely zero modifications and no explanation. I guess she was faking writing down what we would like. Honestly, the worst part was the sandwiches weren't even great. For such a highly rated place, my entire team was disappointed with our orders. We could've made better at home with a normal amount of effort. Not worth the time, hassle, or attitude. Will not return, and left a bad taste in our mouths for the local businesses. For a town recovering from a disaster, you sure aren't friendly.

The kind of spot where everything looks a little unpolished, but that's exactly why it works. The marinated meats are the standout trays packed with seasoned cuts that look ready to go straight onto a grill. Same with the prepared fish, which looked fresh and heavily herbed. It's very much a "trust the process" situation here. Inside, you've got shelves of imported cheeses, spreads, and pantry items, plus a surprisingly solid produce section. Normally when we get Italian Deli Co, we're having people over and buy 5 sandwiches to go. Today,…read morewe were planning to eat in for dinner, but my partner wasn't feeling well. We still wanted Italian, so I offered to go and pick it up. The online menu is sandwiches and piadina only, so I called first to make sure we could get restaurant meals to go. They said yes. I ordered eggplant parmigiana for him and Sauté di Cozze e Vongole for me, as well as a cannoli and a salted caramel dolce freddo to sip while waiting. The drink was delicious and the server, Brooke, was super friendly and helpful (A+, 100%, no notes). I'd had a long week and admittedly was flying on autopilot by then. I paid my tab, got my bag and went to the car. Now I am pretty extra about transporting food safely and without spills, so I put the bag on the front passenger seat and belted it in so it wouldn't tip over. So far, so good. I drove home relishing the delicious garlic smells wafting through the car. I got out and this is where things started going haywire. I walked in the front door and realized the cream sauce on the mussels had just dripped out of the box (not sure why liquid was packaged this way and I will definitely be on alert for this in future!) right through the bag, up the stairs, across the door mat, and all over my shoes (and the flip flops I had been about to put on). Ugh. I have cats who definitely should not be eating garlic, so my husband and I cleaned up the mess after taking photos. I also noticed I had left behind the cannoli And was resigned to calling the restaurant and asking for a refund for the cannoli, at the very least. When I got to the kitchen, I found that basically ALL the sauce had leaked right out of the box (did they not have a deli cup? It's literally a deli). I tried calling twice, but no one picked up. I figured they were busy, as it's the day before a holiday, though it was still pretty early, only about 5 pm. Between the lack of sauce in my dish, the left-behind cannoli, and the mess (thank goodness 90% of the sauce didn't end up in the car upholstery) I decided to just drive back and see what they could do. I am sorry I didn't get their names, but the servers (managers? owners? Apologies, I was SO frazzled. One of them was wearing a green shirt) at the front of house listened to my account, looked at my photos, offered to remake the dish for me, and let me sit at the bar while I waited. I also got my cannoli (perfect). I was offered water or a glass of wine (I declined, I forgot the rest of the dolce freddo at home and was looking forward to finishing it. When my meal arrived, the person in the green shirt told me to be more careful this time and when I expressed trepidation, offered to plastic wrap the box (it was still in a box! Weird but ok) which they did with that good industrial plastic wrap This did the trick by the way. So thank you to the staff at Italian Deli Co. for making it right. I had been looking forward to this meal all week, and though due to the circumstances, I will have to do some reheating at this point, I am really looking forward to our next visit. 1) if I have to order to go I will try not to order liquidy/saucy things 2) if I do order liquidy/saucy things I will ask for the plastic wrap treatment 3) aside from not having the appropriate to go containers for sauce, everything else about this place so far has been excellent, particularly the people and the food. I will be continuing to spent our hard-earned money supporting this local business.

5/5 - Outstanding Italian Dining Experience…read more Italian Deli Company in Pasadena exceeded our expectations in every way. The ambiance is beautiful, clean, and welcoming, with both indoor and outdoor seating that creates a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. The mellow Italian music in the background added to the authentic dining experience. The food was exceptional. We ordered the Tagliatelle Polpette, Pollo e Prosciutto, Burrata e Prosciutto, and Salsiccia e Peperonata, and every dish was delicious and expertly prepared. The quality and freshness of the ingredients really stood out. From the fresh arugula and Parmesan cheese to the prosciutto and wine selection, everything tasted high-quality and carefully sourced. The service was friendly, attentive, and fast. A special touch was Chef Lalo coming out to greet us personally, which made the experience even more memorable. The portions were very generous and offered excellent value for the price. We ended up taking food home because there was so much, and every bite was worth it. As for the noise level, there were a few families with children, but everyone was respectful, and the overall atmosphere remained calm and relaxing. If you're looking for authentic Italian food, fresh ingredients, generous portions, and outstanding hospitality in Pasadena, Italian Deli Company is definitely worth a visit. We'll be back!

I went to order online and realized there is the common convenience fee tacked on. I decided to order the old fashioned way, go there in person. Then I can browse the store while I wait. It has the usual stuff you'd expect to find in mini markets. But there are hidden gems in the dusty corners like a vintage bottle of Trader Vic's Mai Tai cocktail mix. I didn't check the price but I'm wishing it still had the price tag from 1975 on it. Made me think of the Werewolf of London drinking a Pina Colada and his hair was perfect. Another good find was a dusty bottle of Crème de Menthe. It made me want to look up the recipe for a Grasshopper. I don't know if these old mixer's are for sale or just museum pieces. The sandwiches look pretty good, I'll have to try one another time. Overall the veggie pizza was pretty good, but a bit heavy on the veggies. I generally like fewer toppings, but everyone is different. I suppose in the future I could ask to go light on the toppings. But I'd rather they be generous rather than skimpy.
