This is one of those places you don't tell anyone else about so you can keep it all to yourself. Small place with limited tables sets a specific cafe experience. Low lighting, High ceilings, narrow walls and open space give a "chill" place to hang out. The man at the counter was the most delightful person I've met in a long time. He seemed genuinely happy to see people but we weren't the only ones there. Stayed for 10 minutes and about 5 people made their ways in. The espresso was good be the best I've had. The banana bread tasted and felt like it was sautéed in butter right before serving. Had that crust on it. Grabbed some coffee beans while I was there. They were cheaper than other coffee spots in the area. Can't recommended it enough if you're looking for this specific type of cafe environment read more

By far my favorite coffee shop in Dallas! Baristas are always so friendly and the coffee is consistently delicious. Bringing Australian coffee to Dallas. Yes, Ascension did the same but the owner isn't there making coffee personally for you like at LDU! Adam makes the best flat white in TOWN hands down. I really recommend trying it, especially with a bit of his house made vanilla syrup. He puts the perfect amount so it's not too sweet. I've tried a sandwich and a pastry as well, both were good. Great location around Park Cities. Easy to park out front. Excellent coffee! We had an oatmilk vanilla latte and coffee with cream, and both were wonderful! We also tried the lemon bread, banana bread and loaf with carrots/walnuts/raisins/cinnamon/etc, and they were all very tasty! The lemon bread was our favorite! I am in line behind a cute young lady who receives her coffee from the guy, not behind the counter but noticeably in front of it, who thanks her, shakes her hand, asks her name. I'm thinking, "She's a big shot!" Nope, that's just the amazing owner Adam who is like that with everyone, it seems. I love that, but maybe you don't enjoy talking to strangers. Okay so a bit of background for this update. This is during the Coronavirus pandemic, so I even be in Dallas, but I am stuck here for right now. I am in shelter-in-place with just my dad at home for company, and I have to say one of the best parts of my lonely days are when I stop by to pick up my coffee. The staff are so beyond friendly and make an effort to make sure you're happy. There have been a few times I've placed a wrong order or placed an order way too ahead of time, but they've always offered to remake it free of charge. I didn't go this morning and wow I really noticed it today. Thank you LDU for still making great coffee in this time of uncertainty. read more
