If the tomato basil soup wasn't so good it would have received one star. Save your money and go somewhere else. My husband ordered the pork meal and the meat was very under seasoned and the coleslaw wasn't eatable. I ordered the Mahi Mahi and was under seasoned and extremely over cooked and the seaweed salad tasted like it came from a can. Our drinks never stayed full and of course they didn't care that we wasn't pleased with the food. So please for the money you could do so much better avoid this place! read more

I've lived in Huntington for just over a year, and finally visited Le Bistro this week. I had the Tomato Bisque and Crab Cakes and both were extremely delicious, maybe the best Tomato Bisque I've had. Others at my table ordered the Gouda Burger and Ribeye, and both were impressed. I really like the Cellar Door, so I was pleased that Le Bistro was great as well. The restaurant is lovely, but not stuffy in any way, and the service was top-notch. Met a couple of friends to eat here last weekend and made a reservation ahead of time (just in case). When we arrived we had to stand up front waiting to be seated for several minutes (a server busy with another table was kind enough to greet us and asked us to wait momentarily) while two other servers just stood in the back near the kitchen area staring at us. Didn't come up front to help the other server. Service was slow despite it not being busy in the restaurant. I ordered the halibut and tiger shrimp (at least it was advertised as tiger shrimp on the menu) it was not. Looked more like frozen shrimp you can purchase at Kroger. Food was not very flavorful and for the price, quality was lacking. We enjoyed the atmosphere, however won't return or recommend to others as it was not worth the amount of money we spent on our meal. read more

Service is good. Location is good. The decorations are good. The food is very good. Le Bistro is definitely one of the 3 best restaurants in Huntington. The shrimp and grits is my favorite. My family is from Louisiana and I lived there for 5 years- I may have had better shrimp and grits in New Orleans but the taste of Le Bistro's has apparently wiped them from my memory. Some of the more exotic items (especially in the appetizers list) are a little gimmicky and hard to actually try since they sell out of them quickly I guess. (The escargot appetizer stands out in particular as not living up to what I imagined- but I guess that's what I get for imagining escargot when I'd never actually had it before. I was told later that escargot is one of those things that shouldn't be messed with anyway- french bread and butter no trying to make it something it's not.) Also the only thing Ive ever had there that I disliked is the coconut crusted chicken. It may just be me but it tasted like chicken mcnuggets. To be fair I haven't actually had a chicken mcnugget since I was 10 so I guess I could be wrong. Everything else Ive tried has been excellent. The chef at Le Bistro is obviously creative and enjoys what she does. The open kitchen is awesome and somehow makes me enjoy my meal more. The desserts are phenomenal. I am a repeat customer of Le Bistro and will be as long as I'm in this area and they are serving shrimp & grits! read more

Visiting Huntington WV for my husband's work. This place is adorable, very open concept with most of the kitchen right next to you and beautiful chandeliers. We each got specialty mixed drinks, which were amazing. Small, but classy menu, with options for vegheads/vegans. Our server was knowledgeable and very sweet. My 4 stars is mainly because the service was a bit slow for it not being too crowded, but more tone to enjoy each others company. read more

Ok so we brought our son back to school for his fall semester at Marshall U . We have now tried many places but by far Le Bistro is our fav. We stumbled on LeBistro on a long trip and what a great find! Comfortable, trendy, arty decor in a storefront. I had the Stilton Blue, a tossed salad highlighted with blue cheese and onion straws. Just the right amount of dressing. My daughter had the smokey shrimp, sausage, and grits that was well done, i.e. it had the right amount of grits. We shared the tangy key lime cheesecake for dessert and I was happy to take a kona coffee for the road. Well worth the $30 price tag. Our waiter Benjamin was great too! read more

Due to travel time overestimation we arrived prior to the opening of the kitchen but were treated warmly. Introduced to a delightful Pinot Gris from the Williamette Valley and then enjoyed a poached pear salad followed by a pumpkin risotto that could best be described as "Heaven on a plate". Disappointing, is the one word I would use to describe this restaurant. This also doesn't mean the food was bad (at least most of it wasn't...) It was just bland, or ,let the chef have too much control, in the case of the shrimp and grits. It was just a barrage of little problems that came together to form an unpleasant experience. I got the 20.oz Ribeye steak (Ate it all by myself, I'm a big boy.) with mashed potatoes. And like everything else about the restaurant was bland. The steak was good but it was just so flavorless and we had to ask for sauce just too add some resemblance of flavor.(Which it then failed to do.) And the mashed potatoes were spoiled, no arguments, they were. One other thing wrong was that the shrimp and grits had mustard on them? Not sure if that is something some people like, but it seemed like an odd choice. You can go to this restaurant, just expect a painfully flavorless experience that, if anything, will give you something to talk about over the meal, while you try to play off not eating it. read more

I have wanted to try this place and critique it since food is a passion and a hobby of mine. I went this evening and walked by the place and looked at the menu that was posted on the glass. A very nice young man came to the door and invited me in after I asked if they served prime rib. As I walked in, I was greeted with this wonderful aroma coming from the kitchen that was very pleasing. My server was Chris who was very informative and suggested the Steak Frites which was a 20oz ribeye that I ordered medium. The thin sliced fresh bread was wonderful as well as the garlic butter! When the steak came, it was cooked SPOT ON! Perfectly seasoned,and properly rested. A totally great experience all around. If I could award this place a 5 star rating, I would give it. The prices are worth every penny of what you get. The atmosphere is great. A perfect place to share with that special someone in your life or to propose at. read more
