Where to start ? First had table booked for 9pm arrived and told it wouldn't be ready until 9:45 so was asked to go to a pub up the road ( no waiting area). They called and then let me know a table would be ready at 9:15. We arrived and i nipped off to the one toilet that they have. Came back and they hadn't given us menus or asked about drinks. Ten minutes later eventually got a menu no drinks though. Took out order about half an hour after we came in. Fair enough the food arrived pretty quick. Considering the time portion size wouldn't be too hard. I also asked for a steak medium-well done and pretty much had to stop it mooing it was that rare inside, was delicious though but not how i asked. My wife and I recently dined at Le Christine while in Paris. The place is small-ish (there's more seating in the back, which is a bit more intimate if you're looking for that sort of thing), but updated and modern in an old-world setting. While a little hard to find and off the beaten path, it's on a quaint little street. The food was very, very good -- better than a lot of highly-recommended and popular tourist traps. My wife had a steak while I had the sea breem, which was cooked perfectly (as was my wife's steak). Dessert was also spectacular. Unlike another little restaurant we ate at, Le Christine was a bit more formal and not as welcoming. The service was pleasant. The food took awhile to arrive, as is often the case in Paris restaurants. We had a wonderful window seat in which to people-watch as people came and went. If you're looking for a nice little restaurant with an updated and modern menu, I'd say you can't go wrong trying out Le Christine. read more

A little late to the game here, but I have been wanting to post my Paris reviews. We came here back in June of 2013 to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. I picked it based soley on the name - can you guess what my girlfriend's name was?? While there for nine days we had some of the best food we'd ever had. The average meal in Paris would be a great meal in NYC. With that said this is my favorite restaurant in Paris. We had the tasting menu, along with the wine pairing. Everything from the food to the service was top notch. We had a great table by the window, just the right size. When I'm not at work I top out a polo shirt and khakis, this will do the trick here. I had some of the best food I've had in Paris in this restaurant. We were a group of four and everyone loved their meals. The service was impeccable and included tiny (gratis) bowls of soups as starters. For mains we had tuna, 2x beef, and chicken - all cooked exactly ask we asked. Everyone cleaned their plates and shared. For dessert we shared Saint honoré du Christine and crème brûlée. Only the crème brûlée was so-so, all else to die for. read more

We had walked past Le Christine every time we left from or returned to our apt., so on our last night in town we gave it a try. We have absolutely nothing bad to say about it. The service was efficient and, by Parisienne standards, quite friendly. Pleasant seating with just plate glass between us and the very intimate Rue Christine. Asparagus mousse when we sat down, a very nice welcome. Starters were sautéed mushrooms and lobster salad, both fine. Plats were seabass on spinach with chopped olives and monkfish on polenta, also both delectable (though the monkfish stayed a minute too long on the range). Cheese -- outstanding -- then fruit and sorbet. If you want something like traditional French cuisine and you're in the neighborhood, I highly recommend Le Christine. read more

Best meal I've in had in Paris. I had my share of tourist trap cafes but also fancier restaurants here in Paris, this place was my favorite. Great presentation, really tasty flavors, friendly service, and really good quality ingredients. You must try this place but make reservations ahead of time on thefork website. My wife and I ate here in early November while visiting the greatest of all cities. We booked an appt. thru VRBO, which was right at Pont Neuf, so naturally we walked by this restaurant frequently on our way up/down rue de Bucci (sp?). Our second to last night I stopped in between lunch/dinner service and a very pleasant waiter (later to find out his name was "Christophe") approached me while he was resetting the restaurant. I made a reservation for that evening, (7:30, which is early for anyone in Paris) and was sent off with a warm smile, and "merci." The restaurant was 25% full when we arrived, we were taken to the back room past the kitchen station, and seated at a nicely apportioned table in a spacious, and tastefully decorated modern dining room with orange everywhere. Our waiter, the same gentleman who took the reservation, greeted us and asked if we wanted English or French menus. I took a French one, the wife and English one. We ordered the entree, plat principal, dessert prix fixe menu, which I think was around 47 euros. To start we were given an amuse bouche (sp?) of a cabbage mousse on a large spoon, which was absolutely delicious. I can't remember what we had for our entrees, but recall them being very good as well. For my dinner I had the scallops, which were melt in your mouth perfect-probably the best scallops I've ever had. Our waiter was on it all evening, and, like all the French waiters we saw, did the job of what a busboy in the US would do. By the time we left the restaurant was completely full, bustling, and full of energy. We each had a glass of wine, which was brought to us in the bottle for us to inspect prior to them pouring. Overall, the meal was successful but mostly due to the main dish of veal cheeks. It eclipsed everything else I had there, as the dessert and entrée were good, but not as memorable. The best food and wine I had in Paris was at Le Christine! This is a modern restaurant decorated with interesting artwork, serving nouvelle style cuisine. The artichoke appetizer was outstanding. They really were the best artichokes I've ever had. My husband had the summer salad, which was also excellent- I really liked the olive tapenade. For the main course, I had the red mullet fillets. The skin was so light and crispy and was quite good (typically I don't like the skin). It was served with creamy wheat polenta and ratatouille. My husband had the lamb served with goat cheese and caponata. It was cooked perfectly. For dessert we had the vanilla rice pudding with cherries and poached peach and the cookies biscuits with raspberries and lemon mascarpone mousse. The rice pudding was outstanding! 1 of the best desserts I've ever had. The server was spot on, suggesting an excellent bottle of wine based on our description of what type of wine we were looking for. I thought the prices were reasonable. About 200€ for 2 apps, 2 entrees, 2 desserts, 2 coffees and a nice bottle of wine. read more

We have been eating in Paris for over 30 years. We have lived in Brussels for 6 years, and never have I eaten in a more pretentious, unimaginative tasting restaurant in Paris. The few french people there were not from Paris, a telling sign. The food, " imaginatively", had cream as the main flavor in all the offerings. The bread was good, the service was good, the decor and theme were (actually) quite imaginative. Food was slow in coming, and it was discouraging to hear the microwave beep so often. The first wine we ordered from the list was out, and the wines were sorted in a strange way. There is much, much better to be found in Paris. read more

I am so sorry but this was a terribly disappointing dinner. A lovely evening with a friend all the way from Holland - I spent an hour researching a good place. Wine - excellent Foie gras - most lovely Service - very friendly and polite Main dish - lamb was apparently nice (my friend had it) Extra mashed potatoes - a lovely addition, delicious My sea bass with spinach and clams - shameful: 1. Spinach had literally 1 millimeter size sand crystals in it (I know it - I took them out of my mouth - disgusting) 2. Clams were cooked DEAD (only 2 out of about 10 were open - the rest stayed closed meaning they were dead when cooked) We complained to the chef about the clams. They brought us nice and fresh ones, delicious and all open - finally. However, the wilted spinach had the same amount of crunchy-crunchy-crunchy sand crystals. Being a good Dutchman, my friend complained. We got an apology from the staff. However, contrary to what would be typical in this case - they did not offer anything to compensate for it. Yuck! I am home but still have the texture of that sand in my mouth. Oh, it was 117 euros for the two of us... I never post bad feedback but felt I should warn everyone out there. Very marginal food. Since we were American, they placed us in the front of the restaurant with all the other English speaking diners. The French were escorted to another part of the restaurant. Very very interesting...... Wait staff was incredibly rude as well. There are so many other places to dine. Don't fall for this horrible tourist trap!! read more

Would not recommend if you are traveling to Paris. I had a reservation well in advance for 715. They called me as we were getting ready to go and said "I see that you have a reservation, but we no longer have your table, and there is nothing we can do to accommodate you." They offered me 9pm and when I reluctantly accepted, they then said actually how about 930 or 10. I felt they were trying to take advantage and so I declined and then had to scramble to find another restaurant on such short notice. read more

Well, our hotel recommended this restaurant when we asked for French cuisine. The restaurant is good-looking with modern decor. The staff was friendly and provided us with menus in English. But the food? It was nothing fabulous. It did not seem particularly french, the lamb was pretty good, the pork was really pork belly--all fat and no meat. Sorry, but not a fabulous dinner. And they must really market to American tourists, as 6 of the 8 tables in the back room were Americans! If the French are not eating there, doesn't that tell us something? read more

I left! The waiter was a complete angry person! I asked if there was an item I was allergic to on the menu...he said no. I bit into the dish and it was there! No doubt! I asked for another napkin after spitting it out, and he practically DEMANDED an explanation as to WHY I needed a new one! I also ordered the squid with red pepper app, and it arrived with a VERY short hair, dead center, in the middle of the plate! At that point, when my husband told the waiter...once again...he was TOTALLY aggressive and mean at this point! I should say challenging! My husband is a martial artist. This is the first Yelp review that I have posted but I wanted to share my experience at Le Christine and my gratitude to the owners / servers for the excellent care they took of my colleague, clients and me this past Friday night, the 13th of November, 2015. We were wrapping up a week-long marketing trip across Europe with a less than 24-hour lay over in Paris, just enough time for one dinner on a beautiful Friday night in the City of Lights. Le Christine had come highly recommended, which the on-line reviews only served to support; so, we chose to spend our evening in Paris at 1 rue Christine. The ambiance, food, and service were excellent, as promised; and, for a while there, we thought it a perfect ending to our trip. Then, as we all know by now, everything changed in an instant as news of the horrific attacks broke. Despite the fear and uncertainty, while knowing restaurants had been targeted and surely while being concerned about friends and family in the more immediate vicinity of the attacks, our lovely waiter and his colleagues took "excellence in service" up more than a few notches. They helped us navigate the news reports, determine the safest modes (as well as least safe modes) of transportation back, and - as it was nearly impossible to secure an Uber / cab - they kept the restaurant open until they were able to work with a local hotel to find a cab for us (and saw us safely off to our hotel). I hope that they, and their friends and family, arrived home safely that night as well. And, I hope that when you are in Paris, and looking for an excellent meal, you will find yourself at Le Christine. read more
