Had the loveliest brunch date this morning at Le Coffee Shop and WOW. I had the French toast (made from bread pudding) and a salted tiramisu latte with almond milk. Keith had the salmon omelette, potatos au gratin, salad and a piccolo latte (I think with almond milk) with a pump of pistachio and a pump of vanilla. A MUST is the almond croissant. A server brings your order to your table. This place was excellent! Turnover for tables was pretty fast. Not really a place to overstay as it gets busy. The food was amazing! We dined on a Sunday @ about 10am and we waited in line for a good 15 minutes. DRINKS: We stared with an Iced Vietnamese Coffee with nugget ice which was really good and really strong. I loved my extra hot Cafe Miel made with steamed almond milk, cinnamon, organic honey & espresso. CROQUE MADAME: a crispy grilled or toasted black forest ham sandwhich which had a bubbly charred emmental (swiss) cheese melted on top with a perfectly cooked sunny side up egg. I absolutely love their seasonal coffee flavors and always changing pastries! Hubby and I enjoy going for a quick morning date for breakfast. Nestled in super hip, cute, fun Old Town Temecula not too far from the Main Street Front St. right off of 4th street I was able to catch one of the most beautiful and Picturesque sunrise today while the staff were setting everything up for the hustle and bustle of the Sunday morning I waited! 0650 this morning I noticed someone flip the closed sign to open so I went in to order. If you are wondering why I was there so early, it's because after my first time here at 0930 last Sunday and almost missing out on the last pastries I knew this time I better go early! I didn't see anything on the pastry shelf but kindly asked the nice lady behind the counter what they had available. I ended up ordering 3 plain croissants, 2 almond croissants, 1 chocolate croissant and 1 cinnamon roll. I also ordered their mind blowing French Toast and a cold brew with almond milk! I have never been to downtown Temecula though I found myself here with friends to grab some breakfast before sampling the various wines nearby. Just "winging it" we found this placed called Le Coffee Shop serving french food fare and I have to say the spot was an amazing pick. We arrived around 11am to a line and the sun was beating down with the weather in the high 90s, luckily there was plenty of shaded seating outside and the line moved briskly. Ordered a matcha tea latte with oat milk, a custom breakfast sandwich crossiant (bacon, eggs and spinach) and a side salad. I missed out on the potato gratin, sampled some from my fiancee's plate and wished I choose that as a side. Biting into the crossiant was as expected buttery flakiness and it paired well with the mustard dressing draping the salad. Portions were great with enough around the plate to fill you up. My daughter and I went here for the first time and were disappointed with the service. The person taking the order got it wrong and we received the wrong item. I said something to the server (manager maybe?) who, instead of being gracious about it and offering to right the wrong, he challenged me and put the onus on me, the customer. It was almost uncalled for because they called out for a different name and when I was talking to my friends. This small coffee breakfast shop is quite unique. It's in Old Town and has high ratings on Yelp and Google/Apple maps. The food is also very beautiful. I ordered a Super Berry Salad, which is colorful and refreshing, perfect for summer! It's topped with goat cheese, which adds some extra flavor. My boyfriend ordered a quiche that also has goat cheese as the base. I also really liked this one, it's not too greasy or salty, and it's smooth and tender, just perfect! Bacon was good and done perfectly. Omelette was very salty. Portions are small. Looking at the photos of other yelpers I can see whoever was prepping our breakfast definitely did not put the effort in whatsoever. Upon leaving I went in and asked for a plastic cup and the guy hands me a coffee cup made of paper right? So ice in that cup would wear out the cup. She said because it's expensive to make because they put labels on the cups. Lol I let them know their rating I was going to leave on yelp just went way down because that's ridiculous. They ended up giving me a plastic cup but it wasn't going to deter me from leaving an honest review. I purchased a bottled drink from them that wasn't even cold. It wasn't like I was just asking for an extra cup. I purchased 3 drinks, 2 meals and sides from them! The cups itself are cheap material and they stick a sticker on it. Lol but we just spent nearly $70 for a mediocre breakfast at best and they can't give me a cup for a drink I purchased from them? The highlight of the experience was one of the guy servers with an accent thanked us for dining there and said goodbye! I will always give credit where credit is due. When customers walk in..fine ignore them but when they ask you a question during their very first visit about the coffee or menu, don't look at them like why are they even talking to you. Hopefully it was just a bad day for them. I'm expecting a nasty comeback after reading someone else's poor review where "yoann" apparently a manager told someone on yelp I'm glad you don't want to come back again. My sister and I shared the goat cheese and leek quiche with a side salad, almond croissant and a double espresso over ice, she had a cold brew. We were pleasantly surprised that we enjoyed it all. The espresso was very smooth and well rounded, deep with just enough acidity. My sister really liked the cold because it was smoky, different than most cold brews. The quiche was so perfect with the goat cheese and the crust had a nice buttery flavor and flake to it. Didn't taste like dough made with shortening. I came here on my birthday this past weekend for Sunday Breakfast. The wait was very long. The seating arrangement is not ideal and was very congested. They are located next to a gym which causes a lot of traffic. I waited about 45 mins for a spot to even open up. I attempted to save my sister and I a spot but a very rude employee came to the table and asked if I had a number which I did not. You must order your items before you find a seat apparently. She said that I was not welcome to sit down without a number but I saw several tables being saved by people who did not have a number and were waiting for the other part of their party. This definitely rubbed me the wrong way. Once we got to the register to order our food the cashier seemed very overwhelmed and asked us to repeat our order several times. The noise level was not very loud and we were speaking clearly enough to where we were not sure why we were asked on three separate occasions to clarify. We ordered a breakfast sandwich and an omelette along with two coffees. Once we found a table, it took about 15 mins for our food to arrive. The breakfast sandwich tasted okay. I could tolerate it being lukewarm but it was very messy. The eggs, bacon, and cheese looked scrambled and tossed on to the croissant. I'd give the presentation a 0. Our coffees were not as good as we had anticipated. I had to ask for my iced latte to be remade because there was not even a hint of coffee. The barista must have over poured the milk. I was really disappointed in my visit here. The staff was not friendly either. Total bummer.
