Quite the hidden gem! This authentic French restaurant has a fantastic ambiance. While inside you almost forget you're in Florida. The customer service is lovely and the owner's children are very friendly. The crepe initially brought me here. The mussels were well cooked & seasoned. I look forward to trying more from the menu.

How have I lived in Hollywood for several years and never stopped in here before? After getting my nails done around the corner, I was wanting a glass of champagne to kick off the holiday weekend. I immediately thought of Le Comptoir. It was a little after 6pm on a Friday. I was immediately greeted and told to make myself comfortable where ever I liked. I was dining by myself so I headed to the bar. This is a cute and intimate place with French decor that made me feel as if I was dining somewhere in Paris. I was helped out as soon as I sat down and provide bread and water. I ordered a glass of champagne and the side salad to start. My main was the mussels in butter and white wine. There were a few different sauces to choose from (blue cheese, curry, etc), but I decided to do the butter and white wine sauce for my first visit. The server informed me that the mussels came with a glass of wine or beer. Sweeeeet! I chose the red wine. She brought out an iced glass for the champagne. That made it even more amazing. So good that I had to order two. The side salad was delicious as well. It had a couple of sliced oranges, tomatoes, peeled cucumbers, chopped green onions, chopped bell peppers and mixed greens. To top it off, Dijon dressing. I love salad, but didn't know how I'd feel about these ingredients mixed together.... It was nothing short of delicious! My main dish came out in great time. The mussels were mouth watering. The sauce had the perfect blend of butter, white wine, garlic, onions and parsley. I ate every single mussel. The server was kind enough to bring more bread which I made sure to dip in the sauce when I was done. In addition to the glass of wine (or beer), the mussels dish also came with French fries. The French fries were nice and crunchy. Perfect. Excellent service, excellent food. I will be back for sure.

Alluring, affordable, and authentic. Le Comptoir is hard to beat! And really now, why would you want to? It all started when I first tried mussels a month ago. I shockingly fell in love. I say shockingly as seafood and I don't have much of a relationship, but that is slowly changing. Because the original place we went to is rather pricey, I started to look around for a place I could go to that wouldn't break the bank. When my boyfriend decided to surprise me with a dinner date, I immediately said to look for a restaurant with mussels. Originally we were planning on going to Le Bouchon du Grove, but we called and found out they were closed for renovations. As a result, my dear Edwin P. began to search for a place worthy of date night and so Le Comptoir came into the picture. He called, made a reservation, and off we went. The ambiance of this restaurant reminds me so much of Paris. Specifically a restaurant I went near Montmartre. Everything is pristine and perfect for conversation. It's so quiet and intimate, feeling extremely laidback and dare I say European? Definitely the place to sit back and enjoy, relax, and definitely not rush. The food menu is limited but delicious. Go and try the mussels; it's their specialty. There are eight different kinds and you can't go wrong with any of them. I had the white wine ones, while my boyfriend had them Provençal. Both were spectacular, but I admit a preference to the classic white wine ones. Also, note that the mussels are two pounds' worth and come with a glass of wine or beer, plus French fries, for the low price of $18.50. This is a steal! And lest I forget, there is staff that speaks actual French. You know you're getting the legit deal. Spoke to the woman who attended us and she was a native French speaker (I could tell from the accent when she said Chardonnay) and that just made my night. As someone who lived in France, I always love when I get the opportunity to practice speaking the language. Will return soon.

Le Comptoir is clearly a French restaurant serving up some rather well prepared French foods. Though the menu is somewhat abbreviated, it contains all of the French essentials one might expect. They have some really good mussels, frog legs (check for availability) duck al l'orange and a fillet of sole amongst other offerings. The wait staff is polite though somewhat goofy with a waiter chewing gum and some young girl who I saw seemingly accomplishing nothing except sitting in corner doing what I found to be a rather disturbing as well as distracting amount of cell phone texting. For myself, I went for the chef's salad which was served unmixed with in rather unique clam shaped bowl arrangement which was tasty and good with little rollups of a meat, tomato and orange slices. Also the sole came in a really good size portion nicely breaded and done in a francese style. I happen to have been there on a Sunday night and though most other places were dead, Le Comptoir was in fact filled to capacity with dining fans which stands as a good testament as to their popularity and loyal following. The best part about Le Comptoir are the prices. Most French food restaurants of the area tend to be wallet punishing, but not Le Comptoir. Their offerings are more simple, basic French and with a simple menu, reasonable in price. Then, with the size of the portions taken into further consideration, a rather good bang for the buck.

I had the Montreal smoked meat poutine. The food was delicious, it wasn't as good as Schwartz's smoked meat, but it was close enough considering that we are in Florida and that smoked meat doesn't exist here! Isabelle our server was super nice, she was efficient and professional. She came more than a few times to ask us if everything was fine. The ambiance is comfortable. Why four stars, it's simply overpriced! My bill was 27.00$ and my friend's 33.00$, that's 45.00$ Canadian for a smoked meat sandwich, a small poutine and a coke. It's frankly exaggerated! Best of luck next summer when the snowbirds will be back home. I'm American, the currency rates don't affect me, but for Canadians, that's another story. Now for my French Canadian friends!

From the moment we walked in, we were transported from an ordinary strip mall setting into a charming English tea room filled with flowers, beautiful décor, cozy seating, and even fun royal family cutouts for photos. Every table felt unique, and the elegant china added to the experience. We chose the Duchess Tea Package, which included a pot of tea, soup or salad, and a three-tiered selection of sandwiches and desserts. The sandwiches were delicious, featuring favorites like tuna salad, egg salad, turkey, and croissant sandwiches. We also enjoyed scones, macarons, cheesecake, and other sweet treats. You can also opt to order regular menu brunch items like eggs Benedict, crepes , or French toast . To make the birthday celebration extra special, I ordered desserts for my friends, which were beautifully presented while the staff sang "Happy Birthday." It was such a thoughtful touch. The tea selection was extensive, and our server was attentive and friendly despite the restaurant being completely full. We arrived at 11 a.m. on a Sunday and the dining room remained busy throughout our visit. There was even a baby shower being hosted in a private area. They do offer outdoor seating, but I highly recommend sitting inside to fully enjoy the atmosphere. My friends and I wore our large hats and gloves to embrace the tea party experience, and we took so many wonderful photos and memories home with us. The service I received was exceptionally poor. The sandwiches were, for the most part, average, with one exception, and the scones, one of the.sandwich clotted cream were satisfactory. The tea was acceptable. My visit was in February for high tea, and I left feeling disrespected and uncomfortable. Upon arrival, I approached lady Hostess A and requested an indoor table. She informed me that the indoor seating was full but suggested I could sit anywhere outside. I proceeded to seat myself. There was no queue or other patrons waiting at that time. Mr. Waiter J..later informed me about reported issues with bees in the outdoor area, which I understood. I reiterated my preference for indoor seating, explaining that Hostess A had indicated no availability inside, which led me to the outdoor area. After I placed my order, other patrons arrived. Hostess A escorted them to outdoor tables and provided them with menus. This pattern continued with subsequent arrivals. I observed that all the patrons she seated shared a similar skin tone to hers, unlike myself. Furthermore, after patrons departed from the indoor area, Hostess A personally re-entered the outdoor area to escort these new arrivals inside, despite their arrival significantly after mine. One patron, whom she seated indoors, later returned outside..The inside was full but many cluents left in groups freeibg uo various table indore..She appeared to have many options..options that i was not offrerd after i my wish was express that i wanted an inside table Lady A indicating that indoor seating had been available. I also overheard her inquiring about reservations, suggesting that these patrons did not have one. Another patron seated near me was also offered an indoor table. Throughout this experience, Mr. J observed my predicament with the bees and proactively intervened to improve the situation. I shared my observations with him, and he offered me an indoor table, which I declined at that point. His exemplary teamwork and service in addressing the disrespect and unfavorable treatment I experienced were didpleased . My waiter, Mr. J.. was ok.. When I shared my observations with him, he suggested that Hostess A might have forgot about me. I found this particularly noteworthy given that two patrons were seated within arm's length of me, requiring her to navigate around me. My table was also positioned beside the entrance, a high-traffic area for incoming guests. While I acknowledged the possibility of oversight, I also reflected on the unfortunate phenomenon where individuals of differing skin tones are sometimes marginalized as in my case. I sat outside and while the bees was competing with my food. Mr. Jeh...consistently refilled my tea and checked on me frequently. The waiter also checked on me and acknowledged the bee issue. Mr. Jel ....was professionalism, kindness, and efficiency in attempting to rectify the situation were commendable. I would rate the waiter's quality as 3 out of 10, while Mr. jEl....service merits a perfect 10. Regarding the restaurant as a whole, I am profoundly disappointed. I had been enthusiastic about finding a tea house, as they are a rarity in South Florida.

Our server (very new) was absolutely amazing. He gave us the story behind the name, Katherine, who is the wife of James Beard nominee Chef Timon. The restaurant is a small white building. Once you get inside, it's like stepping into another world. Its beautiful interior has wooden tables, Edison lights, gold table lamps, and white marble tables. Super clean. The menu looked wonderful and it took a while for us to decide but we did. *tuna crispy rice *chili garlic heirloom tomato (ordered bread as suggested) *iceberg wedge *red thai curry branzino This was absolutely the best dinner experience we've ever had. The tuna crispy rice was delicious! We went on the suggestion of our server to order bread with the chili garlic heirloom tomato and this was a banger!!! It was amazing. Hubby enjoyed his wedge salad. Oh, and that red Thai curry branzino was golden. Now wonder Chef Timon was nominated for a James Beard. Our server actually served us a vanilla bean "torrejas" French toast dessert with a lit candle since we were in town for our 15th anniversary. I just pray we get to come back again in the future. They have an outdoor patio, but we chose to sit at the bar so we could enjoy the lovely interior decor. It's very quirky and unusual inside! It was happy hour, so we availed ourselves of the specials! First, drinks! We had the Negroni and the Snazzy Nazzy, which is their take on an Old Fashioned. A Negroni is pretty standard, right? Not here - it's elevated with the addition of orange blossom water, which softens some of the Campari bitterness. The Snazzy Nazzy was simply divine. I have been resisting the whole "hot honey" trend, but honestly, there is a reason why everyone is losing their minds over it. The addition of hot honey syrup to the bourbon (Redemption!) took the taste to another level. I was blown away; this may have been the best cocktail I've had so far this year, and that includes a trip to the cocktail mecca of NYC. OK, on to the food. We had: -Tuna crispy rice -Whipped ricotta toast -Marinated jerk beets -Shrimp ceviche -Smothered clam chowder fries The HH / appetizer sizes are perfect - this was exactly the right amount of food for 2 people and provided a nice tour of the menu! For me, the standout was the beets. The flavor was perfection; complex and layered, and the soft texture of the beets contrasted beautifully with the crisp arugula salad they were perched upon. The ceviche was a happy accident; we had ordered the salmon crudo and they brought the ceviche. The server offered to swap it out but we like ceviche anyway, so we kept the swap. The passion fruit citrus leche de tigre was such a great addition to the shrimp and red onion. Fantastic! The tuna crispy rice was executed very well and the sourdough that came with the lemony, fresh whipped ricotta was lovely For me, the only misstep was the fries. I loved the concept, and the clam chowder was delicious; however, it made the fries completely soggy and the texture was a little off putting. This did not stop us from eating the whole thing! This idea maybe would work better in a nacho format, with thick tortilla chips instead of fries that would stand up to the chowder. Service was friendly and fast and we felt very welcomed! A great experience all around!
