The staff were also really accommodating and kindly let us move seats so I wasn't sitting directly in the sun, which I appreciated. The food was great for such a quick stop. The charcuterie board was an excellent value, with a generous amount of meats, pickles, and olives, all of which tasted fresh and flavorful. The fries were also quite good: thin, super crispy, and perfect with the mayo on the side. Had the most amazing time here last night! Off to bat, the staff were super attentive and friendly. I had to go to the bathroom pretty bad and a server walking by without asking let me use the bathroom in their unopened downstairs bar. Throughout the night, our server was great at helping us break down which wine we wanted giving very detailed descriptions and answering questions. Plus, the manager of this place is a gem. He laughed with us and we shared stories, genuinely a great guy who helped our experience feel extra special! The wine and tapas were all great. The ambience is almost like an European summer vibe, with tables closely sitting together on the street and everyone laughing and drinking wine. This is my friend's go-to spot for wine and light bites, and it was my first time visiting. I wasn't disappointed. I arrived a little early and all the tables were reserved, but we lucked out with seats at the window bar, which ended up being perfect for people-watching. We started with a couple of small plates, which are great if you want to share and try a variety of things on the menu. First up were the steak frites and a charcuterie board (meat-focused). The portions were on the smaller side, but the flavor definitely delivered. The fries were so good, and the steak was cooked beautifully, juicy and well-seasoned. The charcuterie board was pretty standard: a few meats, some bread, and pickled vegetables. Nothing groundbreaking, but perfect for snacking. We also tried a bubbly rosé that tasted almost like a light cider. really enjoyable and easy to drink. Since it turned into a full girls' day, we switched up to their cocktail menu. I had their take on a dirty martini, which was strong but incredibly smooth and delicious. We also got the fromage plate--very small portion-wise, but the cheeses themselves were great. In the middle of Dimes Square, Le Dive serves as a spot to casually catch up with friends and provides prime people watching. Came here on a Thursday evening with a friend after dinner nearby. There was a line to be seated but plenty of tables available both inside and outdoors. We opted for an outdoor table. My friend got the standard margarita and I got a gin martini. Both of them were solid drinks. Service was friendly and they don't bother you, which is nice. Only downside is that there is only a single restroom, so you may have to wait in a line to use it. Went to check out what was playing at the Metrograph, there was a big event for Devil Wears Prada 2. Got a table at Le Dive and had a fantastic Margarita that had yuzu, it was really really good. Got some fries and then got the falafel and a glass of their Macabeu. All amazing. Weather was perfect, food was delicious, wine was superb. Being outside and around such great energy of other patrons made for an experience tres fantastique in little old Manhattan. Most come here for drinks, I come here for food. It's just always on point. Tuna Nicoise is a must have. And I'm obsessed with their artichoke - having it here sent me on a journey for the best artichoke dish in Manhattan. So far no competition. It's so simple yet so right. Can't go wrong with falafel, ricotta, Bibb lettuce, beef tartare and FRENCH FRIES here. I'm a fan of their curry mussels too. But beware! It's messy splatter prone so if you're dressed up, it's a danger zone. Always appreciate a place that has a wide variety of non alcoholic drinks too! To start, let's be honest... my Wife and I might be a little too old and not cool enough to hang at Le Dive, but we jumped right in and had a great time. We had a few drinks at the bar while we waited for an ideal table to open up. The drinks were solid and well created. The bartenders were attentive and kind. I expected to be ignored, but they acknowledged us immediately and showed us patience and (much appreciated) attention. Isaac was especially amazing! NOTE: we had reservations for the basement, but the hostess was so nice about our table request and delivered to our expectations to be upstairs by a window. As for the food, it really did take us back to a small dive bar in Paris where the food was on point and the drinks were great and the wine perfectly matched. For starters we shared the Endive & Fennel and the Ricotta. The Ricotta is a MUST TRY dish! The flavors in this dish are well balanced with sweet and savory. I liked the Fennel, but it was different than I expected based on the description. We shared the Steak Frites and I think this dish is a reason to visit Le Dive. Steak was perfectly cooked and the frites were small and crispy just the way we like them. Everything was on point! Lastly, we had wine by the glass and for just $15 - $17 a glass we had some delicious wines... Thank you Le Dive for allowing us to be cool for a night and feel young again! The food was good, but I cannot get past poor service. After having to stand for nearly 30 min to get a table, I was given dirty glassware. When I pointed it out to the waitress, instead of replacing it, she defended the smudges and insisted it's fine drink out that glass even though I'd requested another. The other glasses nearby didn't have the sediment/residue on them. The waitress also wasn't very knowledgeable about the wine when asked and didn't check on the table much. We ended up staying awhile so we saw the bar go from the after work crowd to the getting ready to go to the club in the basement crowd (& yes there is really a small dance club in the basement). The food here is served tapas style so we ordered a few dishes for the table. Started with a frontage & charcuterie (these are separate & the charcuterie is actually just meat. The meat plate came out pretty full & the frontage plate or cheese seemed lacking in comparison but we were three girls hanging out so it wasn't the end of the world. We also ordered a stuff mushroom & a steak frites for the table. Both of these are must orders! Very good, the steak was cooked perfectly & the sauce from the stuffed mushrooms were to die for. We soaked up the rest with our fries & leftover bread from the cheese plate. Drinks are a little pricy without the matching heavier pour but overall we had a good time. Can only comment on drinks and fries as that's what we got. Fries were very, very crispy. The were the extra thin shoe string fries that are light and seasoned well. The absolute peak French fry shape. I tried an espresso martini. I'm not an alcohol guy, but it was pretty enjoyable. Only the slightest hint of an alcohol aftertaste. I could only drink half so I gave out the rest to my much more alcoholically inclined buddies, and they said that was a perfect espresso martini. Good soft music, excellent crowd, and at sunset the area looks beautiful. People watching a huge bonus. Food/Drinks: 7/10. Not anything super special and food is a bit pricier than one would like but the charcuterie and fromage were very solid as bites during our experience. I appreciated the fruits with the cheese or pepperoncini with the meats. Not an extensive list of wines, but the curated selection has something for everyone. Skin contact wines seem to be the preferred choice. Service: 8/10. With a crowd this big it's hard to master service at the right intervals. Had a great solo night at the bar. The service was on point and food was delicious. I have a gluten allergy and they helped guide me through what I could and couldn't have on the menu.
