Are you ready for a change up in the breakfast scene? Well, I have the perfect place for you. Maybe next breakfast/brunch/lunch out try Le French Cafe. This hidden gem is right off of Arapahoe and Folsom. As someone who has traveled to France multiple times, this place does it just as good. The omelet was delicious and to top it off with a crepe was like heaven on earth. Even if you're going for breakfast, I insist you...Please view my full review at: https://bit.ly/2IGnqW read more

Le French Cafe - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Boulder, Colorado

The feeling in Le French Cafe is wonderful - warm, welcoming, friendly. I really love it. The food, too, is simple and tasty. The only item I've tried and not enjoyed is the French onion soup, which ought to be perfect, and is a little too heavy on the vinegar. The coffee is strong and delicious, the pastries (which they outsource) are not cheap and totally worth the money, the owner is present and invested and the servers are working hard. I've taken two children who have enjoyed it and been welcomed and talked to in a way that indicates they are customers, too, not afterthoughts. This place has quickly become popular and fills up at breakfast and lunch time - go at a slightly off time and have more elbow space (although sitting close to other tables is part of the charm - the mood is infectious and people chat in a friendly way to their neighbors.) The tables could do with a more thorough wiping - ours was a little sticky the other day. I totally recommend this place and will be going back, soon. read more

Le French Café offers very tasty food with a great selection of breakfast and lunch items. The indoor sitting area is large enough, and the outdoor terrace is a great spot for warm days. read more

Excellent staff! Courteous and appreciative owner! Every time I go to Le French Cafe, I am greeted by name and told to pick any table in the restaurant. The food is phenomenal, the portions are huge, and the coffee is strong. So glad I was turned on to this place by other happy customers. Word has really got around that they have the best French food in Boulder, and incredible service! read more

Great food, amazing and sweet people!!! Probably the best customer service I have experienced in years! We were so kindly welcomed by the staff and they were very helpful with our 2 year old son. We were given legos to play with and then helped us clean them up when he made a huge mess of them... :( whoops! They were so kind! The food was delicious! Fresh squeezed OJ, crepes were perfect with super yummy spices!!! Both the GF buckwheat and the regular were super tasty! So glad that we went!!! read more

I just discovered this wonderful cafe today and I was very impressed. The family owning it were exceptionally welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious. We had an authentic french style croissant with soup and a savory crepe and we were blown away. They even brought out a couple complimentary chocolate truffles that were divine! I highly recommend this little place. Give it some support. read more

I really wanted to like this place, especially since I like to take my girls out for a special treat now and then and my youngest is a Nutella Crepe fanatic. She had it and said it was yummy, I had the lemon sugar crepe but we both agreed they were just "ok" (kinda dry and spongey) partly because we recently visited a French Creperie in Naples, FL and it was so yummy I had tears in my eyes. Im not a fan of wide open dining spaces, but thats not to their discredit. My gripe is really over the hot chocolate that was giant and my girl just didnt like it. I tried it too, its not really kid geared. When the waitress came she asked about finishing it and I told her that she did not really like it, her reply was "oh sorry but I get it, its different, definitely an acquired taste". Then she came back with the bill, and again said "sorry you didn't like the hot chocolate". I wholeheartedly expected her to have taken it off the bill, but she didn't. $4.00 is not that much but still, it was the point of it all, I would have spent it on a pastry on the way out. I won't say I will never be back, I will return with my French friend and give it another try, maybe it was just an off day. read more

The crepes are the best in the city. Our server was attentive and friendly. Only reason it didn't earn five stars was that it didn't open until 9:00 on a Saturday morning. read more

Extremely average at best. I went in at lunchtime And purchased a spinach feta croissants and an almond croissant to go. Each was $4.10. When I got to my car and reached in the bag I was surprised that the spinach feta croissant was cold. It clearly had been refrigerated. The pastry was not flaky and did not seem particularly fresh. While the almond croissants was not refrigerated it too was not flaky as a proper croissant should be. Sadly another store pretending to have decent pastries. Unfortunately the standard in Boulder is rather low by the numerous positive reviews for these average products. read more

This has become my favorite breakfast spot in Boulder. True French cuisine, great service always with a smile and a lovely French accent. The quiches and omelette are always delicious and my daughter loves the Nutella crepes. read more

This delightful café features excellent crêpes - regular and dessert, superb sandwiches, and delicious omelets as well as friendly and efficient service. Eat indoors in the bright and delightful cafe or outside. Try the salted caramel dessert crêpe, it's worth a trip to Boulder on its own! read more

I thought I'd be getting a bit of tasty French pastry and light baked goods, but instead received a heavy Quiche that seemed store-bought along with a pile of "tater tots" as a side. My wife's crepe was okay, but pretty tasteless and not at all like what you get from real French cafes. The service was good and the decor was comfortable, but since we went here for some nice French food, it's definitely a one or less star place. read more

The food was great, but my experience was horrible, terrifying even. Every single time I looked up from my food an employee was staring at me or one of my friends; very disturbing. I will not be coming back. read more

One of my favorite places- the staff are very friendly, and the food is always wonderful! The pasteries and desserts are a bit pricey, but always amazing. read more

amazing macarons!! the croissants and pain chocolat are wonderful and authentic as well

What a hidden gem! On our first visit, we had a cappuccino and chocolate croissant. We enjoyed the ambience and the views of the mountains. It was very relaxing and enjoyable. For the second visit, we had buckwheat crepes, filled with ham, cheese and eggs. The crepes came with a fresh salad and were delicious. It was a true savory crepe and I felt like I was back in France! This is a wonderful cafe with friendly and charming owners. It was such a pleasant surprise and I highly recommend! read more

Food is good, servers are terrible. Unless the owner serves you, you are guaranteed to have terrible service. The server we had today rolled her eyes at us after asking for a croissant she forgot. Isn't it her job to serve us? read more

Super cute place, they make gluten free buckwheat crepes. Had a sweet crepes house made caramel. Can't wait to have a savory one next time!

Love everything about it. Such a cute vibe, super nice staff, great food.

This place is magical! We have come here on numerous occasions and every time we have loved it. The staff is wonderful and the food is amazing. Highly recommended. read more

Very bright and airy. Counter help is friendly and helpful. The best chocolate croissants ever. Delicious bread. Can't wait for lunch.

The food at Le French Cafe is fairly good, not great. Part of the issue may because they are so incredibly busy at lunch time. There were six of us having lunch there and most seemed ok with their meals but not overwhelmed with pleasure. The onion soup was way overly herbed. The immense quantity of herbs made tasting any onion flavor impossible. Croissants were quite good, however. One thing....the NOISE at lunch is off the scale. Conversation was darn near impossible. Hard floor, high hard ceiling, and dozens of millennials talking at the top of their voices. read more

Excellent! The food is fast and delicious, the people are happy, the beautiful blooming tree on the patio, all of it lovely.

Best almond croissants ever. However, don't bother with the buckwheat crepes. They are dry, flavorless and had very little filling.

What a breath of fresh air! Our lunch and pastry dessert was excellent. Wait staff very attentive and Fiona is a hoot! My new favorite restaurant. read more

Le French Café is hands down the best lunch spot in Boulder. I ate there today for the sixth time and have consistently been impressed with the quality of food, service and atmosphere. I am writing a review today because I was surprised to see the experiences described in the 2/21 post and wanted to share my experience. Here is my top 3 list of what stands out: 1. The owner and atmosphere are exceptional- it doesn't matter if you are 8 or 80 your are going to feel welcome and valued by Agnes. There are not a lot of venues in Boulder that attract a broad spectrum of customers including professionals, couples with young children, and senior citizens. I get the impression the staff are treated well, and they are very personable. 2. The price is right- Le French Café brings the delightful everyday French dishes to Boulder without the L' Atelier prices. Portion size is generous. 3. The food is great- If you have never experience the joy of fried onions, potatoes, bacon, hand shaved parmesan, and a couple of poached egg together in a Salade Lyonnaise now is the time to try it. Baguettes and pastry baked on premises. read more

From the moment Le French Cafe opened their door, I have been a regular customer. The traditional French pastries are very good as are the patisserie cakes. I admit I pick up lunch on my way to work sometimes. The ambiance is lovely, very casual, and I especially love the wide range of clientele: families, couples, singles, of all ages. And of course, speaking and hearing French with the French owners. read more

As a French person living in the USA, you know affordable French restaurants are almost non-existent, and hard to find. I was recommended to try this place, and I love it. LOTS of cheap options for lunch, and so far everything I have tried was delicious. Generous portions, nice friendly service, the owner is lovely, simple and happy to chat with you. This IS what a French restaurant should be like. Unpretentious, tasty and vibrant. Can't wait to go back and enjoy my lunch and coffee on their patio. read more

Finally a real French cafe in Boulder. Easily as good or better than anyplace you'll find along the Seine. Everything is top notch. The desserts are world class...save room. Right next door to the Rincon Argentino and Great Harvest. read more

Very loud room to eat in on a Sunday morning--too loud for casual conversation. Service was slow, cups were dirty, and fried egg was severely undercooked. read more

Delicious. Finally, a casual French cafe in Boulder! Loved the Crepe Landaise and Chocolate Croissant. And definitely order your coffee with Chantilly Creme. I will be back! read more

A' mon avis... Ca vant le coup...Translated: In my opinion..it's worth a try... the flights to Paris are reasonable, but why leave Colorado? My first visit was memorable. My heritage is French, I speak just a bit, have a very discerning palate and I thought there was never going to be French bread to rival the real deal. In France this summer...A' la prochaine ! (Until next time) ..DELICIOUS!! read more
