The food is great and authentic; however, the service was not up to par. The employees are friendly but they do not have enough staff to fully take care of their customers. It took a while for someone to come by and take our order and we never had our drinks refilled. Food and service should both be great for a return visit! read more

Literally my favorite cafe. Super friendly customer service. The owner is the nicest person in existence. Food is always amazing every time and I'm always looking for an excuse to go back. Must try it read more

Food was not very good. My boyfriend and I were not impressed with our meal and felt we could make better crepes at home. I ordered the most popular crepe offering on the menu and it was hard to finish it. We were then incorrectly charged for another guests meal. Very disappointing. read more

Our experience was disappointing from the moment we walked in. The decor was a bit odd and more of a cafeteria style. We ordered two very simple things, crossiant, and almond croissant and it was just alright. French pastry is typically light and delicate, and this was not. read more

Ran out of croissants by 2:30pm, but everything else was delicious. Get here early if you want to try their famous croissants. Definitely a french diner. Casual environment and friendly service. The food was good, but not better than Moxie in Louisville. read more

Pros: Waitress was very kind Cons: overpriced, low-mediocre quality ingredients, many items are pre-made, very loud, difficult to customize order Extremely overpriced for mediocre quality. My fiancé and I stopped in to try it out, hoping it would be similar to The Cheese Course which was the restaurant in that location before it. However I would say that it is not. We came in for lunch and at first I tried to order a crepe with walnuts and cream sauce and other ingredients but when I asked if I could get it without walnuts (allergy) they said the cream sauces was pre-made... I don't know if they had a plain sauce they could've used, but they didn't offer it as an option. I then considered getting the cheese plate (+$15) but when I asked what kinds of cheese it had, the options were really basic. I ended up getting the Brie and apple panini with a salad and was disappointed. Initially we asked if we could add bacon and spinach to the sandwich and they said no because it is also pre-made!! Not sure why they couldn't just open up the sandwich before putting it on the grill and add a couple things but whatever. The waitress offered to bring us sides of bacon instead and for two sides of bacon (six strips) it was $7.60!!! That plus two sandwiches ended up being almost $35! Extremely, extremely over priced. Perhaps their bakery items and coffee are what you should really go there for, but I don't know because we didn't try them. Wouldn't recommend at least for lunch. read more

I've not encountered a restaurant like this elsewhere in Denver. Bright, modern decor. Authentic fine, yet very accessible, French cuisine. It has a casual and vibrant energy and a very attentive staff that seems very happy to be there. Considering we dined there on only the day after the grand opening, I expect things to only get better. I recommend anyone try it. We'll be returning next for Sunday brunch!!! read more

The service here is wonderful and friendly. Unfortunately, I was not impressed with the food the two times I have been there. The omelet I ordered was not a French omelet which should be fluffy, tri-folded, and not browned. The second time I was here I ordered a baguette with pate. The pate was spread too thickly and appeared to be liverwurst. The accompanying salad was wilted, rusty, and too messy. A simple salad of butter lettuce would have been better. I will continue to visit, but am hoping things will improve. Thank you for the excellent service. read more

I tried this new place for breakfast today. I had high hopes, given the positive reviews. Also, the owner and the chef are French. I reluctantly give Le French Cafe this negative but constructive review. I have lived in France twice and visited many times. I ordered the buckwheat crepe as I am gluten-free. First, they sent the regular white flour crepe. When the buckwheat crepe showed up, it was suspiciously dark in color. It was so disappointing. Extremely thin and nearly burnt, it was tasteless. I have had buckwheat crepes (Galettes Bretonnes) so many times at the Bastille neighborhood market in Paris where I lived, and have a passion for them. I sent it back and settled for eggs and bacon, which were good. The salad with the crepe was unlike any salade verte you would get in France. Much more like a side salad at the Outback. They used little bits of romaine lettuce, thick slices of cucumber, grape tomatoes and a canned artichoke heart. The dressing was thick and sweet, not the lovely light vinaigrette ubiquitous in France, served on dark, leafy greens. The potatoes used for inside the crepe and, I noticed, for a side dish were tasteless, greasy deep fried potato squares that look like they came out of a bag. The owner and I spoke French and she and her cousin waiter were friendly and apologetic. I ordered cafe au lait, which I always get in France. It came in a tall, skinny mug and was mostly milk. I could not taste the coffee. The owner gave me a second one, and it was no better. I finally got just a cup of coffee, which was excellent. I owned a cooking school for nearly 20 years, and was so looking forward to a little taste of France in Boulder. I hope they can improve. read more

Excellent lunch. I felt transported to Paris. We had a delightful mean and the service was excellent. Everyone working there was so nice.

A wonderfully welcoming and vibrant atmosphere! Food is delicious, ordered the crepes and was not disappointed. The pastries are full flavored and scrumptious! Would definitely recommend Le French Cafe (love the name), and will be back for more read more

The croissants here are amazing. They have a couple different ones. Had the chocolate and raspberry ones. They also have good sandwiches and crepes. read more

Place sucks, I worked at a French bakery for many years that was seriously authentic. Food was overpriced for what you get. When you get a salad you get the inside of romaine hearts. Very uninspired and underwhelming. I really feel it's a rip off. And how arrogant that the menu can't be subbed. Lol.... I'm sure if Jacques Pepin walked in he would see what a joke. read more

My $13 Croque Monsieur was soggy and the bread did not seem to be cooked. The staff were inflexible, rude and confrontational when we asked them if we could sit outside. They would not let us sit out on the patio even though it was mid-afternoon on a weekday and there were plenty of open tables. Not a pleasant experience - service-wise and food-wise. read more

I am from NJ, and I am obsessed with French Cafés. I was soooooo very happy to find this Gem within walking distance to our Hotel (Marriott). This is hands down the MOST AMAZING French Cafe I have ever been to! The Croissant, Baguette & French Fries were out of this world. My Husband & I will be going back here every morning for breakfast for the remainder of our vacation. You will also meet the sweetest Lady with an adorable French accent :) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this slice of heaven!!! read more

Best breakfast in Boulder! Friendly service, fresh brewed coffee, crisp vegetable salad, and the bakery items are fantastic!!!!

I stumbled on this cafe while out for a walk, and was so pleasantly surprised. The owner was so kind and hospitable, and the service was overall impeccable. The food was amazing as well. I got the gluten free buckwheat complete crepe and it was a generous sized portion and so tasty. Will definitely come here again! read more

Authentic and delightful. The raspberry tart, croque madame and prosciutto raclette crepe were mouthwateringly amazing. We're so excited to have French food in Boulder. Le French Cafe is our new favorite indulgence! read more

A great addition to the town. Light and sunny, just like the food, and the staff... who are truly friendly as could be. Highly recommended.

Mediocre. After spending some time in France I have eaten similar dishes at a higher quality for a lower price. I see a lot of these chic restaurants (especially French ones) that charge high prices for very unimpressive food. I had a savory quiche that was mostly empty of the vegetables and cheese I expected to find, though the dough was a nice texture. The potatoes that came with it were terrible, cold French fries. My partner had what was supposed to be a half baguette, but was rather small, and a croissant that she thought was actually good. The coffee was a bit watered down. Overall the presentation was much nicer than the food. I would have also liked more food for the price. I will probably not go there again. read more

This is my absolute breakfast/ brunch place, not only in boulder but on this planet! When you walk in, you can expect to be created by the owner who is super sweet and always wearing a smile on her face. The employees are so kind and have begun feeling more like friends! And most importantly, the food is incredible! So fresh and made with love! I have tried many thing on their menu including quiche, omelettes, croquet madams, and a couple sandwiches and everything I have ever tried has been amazing! Their potatoes are FIRE! My favorite thing to order is an omelette with ham, spinach and feta or mozzarella with potatoes and it is amazing every time. Highly suggest eating here to anyone and every one! read more

Le French Cafe - Omelet with ham, spinach, and mozzarella and fries! - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Boulder, Colorado

10/10 place. Having been born and raised in France, I can confirm that this cafe has true French food and isn't just an American cafe trying to be French. The woman who worked when I went (twice), Agnes I believe, was super welcoming and kind and spoke French with me for a bit. The food was delicious. Got the crepes the first time, one savory and one sweet, and pastries the second time. The ham and cheese croissant is amazing. Wish I lived in Boulder so I could go here all the time. read more

Love love love this place and the people in it. Whole atmosphere is conscientious, warm, and friendly. The owner is so authentically herself and that's what brings this place to life. Oh, and the food is bomb too. read more

Amazing French pastries. Love the Nutella filled croissant.

This is one of Boulder's newest hidden gems! In the shopping center by McGuckin, (across from Great Harvest Bread) a lovely little place with amazing salads, and quiches, but especially service! The owner is French, and could not be friendlier. Their croissants are amazing too. What a great surprise! read more

I am not sure why this place is a 4 and a half stars. I traveled to different states and countries, tried different crepes. This one was the worse for me. Crepes are too thick like pancakes. Even the filling. We ordered their "Olivia" strawberry crepe and were expecting fresh strawberries. They served it with a strawberry jam instead of the fresh ones which is very disappointing. We also had Poularde with buckwheat flour and a disappointing too. The service was slow too. read more

The food, the servers, and atmosphere here are great! Unfortunately, they were incredibly short-staffed. I went by myself and it took forever to get my food, which wasn't such a problem because I understand that it's homemade and it takes time, but it must've taken me 10 minutes to catch my waiter to ask for a check and another 10 minutes after that before he could get it to me. I would go back because I really like the place, but I hope they add a few more people to their waitstaff. read more

I've been there once and got a perfect cappuccino and egg and bacon croissant. Very good. I was disappointed they didn't have an almond croissant that day and that they don't open until 9am. Looking forward to trying the quiche one day and an almond croissant. read more

Went in to eat the other day, sat down incredibly excited for my food, when my food came out the egg was like half cooked with a lot of runny white. Disappointing. Nonetheless I ate it with a smile on my face :) read more

Delicious and well priced for boulder . I am definitely coming back. Get the Norwegian crepe

Everything we had for brunch was excellent. The hardest thing was deciding between all the delicious choices. The kids, who are generally not fans of French food, demanded we go back to try more menu items. The breakfast/brunch menu had a full range of options from omelettes, crepes, and sandwiches to French classics like Croque Madame. Our picky eaters had Nutella crepes and toasted ham and cheese. I only wish I was in town longer to try more items. read more

Amazing food perfect staple for Boulder Colorado. Very happy to have this French restaurant available in town. The only bad thing is every time I go in unless the owner is helping me, The servers are rude. Very unhelpful very irritated upon any question asked. I've been to this restaurant four times. The food is amazing but there's always an issue with the service. The owner is awesome so I will keep going back :-) read more

The incredibly welcoming and attentive staff would have you coming back even if they didn't offer delectable, authentic French food. I'm very grateful these guys chose a little corner of Boulder to call home! read more

Food & People are fantastic! Chocolate Croissants and Almond Croissants are the irresistible. The staff is super nice and as cliche as it sounds they really go above and beyond for to make sure you're happy. The only critique I have is the first time we went in, we were kind of confused on how it worked - like if we order at the register or if we seat ourselves or wait to be seated (it is the last one, if you're wondering). The tall counters and minimal design cues on how it works was kind of intimidating at first. Maybe a sign or something would help that. Not sure but at least you can stare at the beautiful treats in the bakery while you wait. read more

Loved our savory crepes and excellent cappuccinos. Our server made us feel very welcome and as if we were her only guests. Very focused on our needs even though the Cafe was bustling. The owner Agnes came to check on us and what a special visit. Agnes is absolutely lovely. We will definitely be back, many times!! read more

AMAZING crepes and croissants! Great service and actual French chiefs! Def check this spot out!!

A "French" restaurant that doesn't serve alcohol and has 6 pictures of the Eiffel Tower on the walls. Mall quality food. At least it's pretty cheap. read more
