I originally wanted a crepe, but ended up getting the croq' monsieur instead. They ran out of the iced tea of the day, so I opted for a hot chocolate. My friend ordered the croq' madame and a hot beverage as well. This cafe is pretty cute, but there was a giant bug on the window where we were sitting at that kept buzzing around. For the side items, I chose the potatoes, which were basically seasoned fries and my friend got a salad. I really enjoyed my meal here and thought that the food was very authentic! read more

Yummy crepes choices grain (brown) and flour (white) *white is bleached. A lot of choices and free refills on sodas, iced teas, etc., it states on last page of menu. OMG - as far, as dessert, both my aunty and I wandered over to see multiple tarts in display, it may seem pricey $8 fruit tart, it is must HAVE, easily missed as regular pastries are on the opposite side of the cashier. Now, these tarts are a MUST eaten there and/or take home! And, for us, we took home, in duration of both visits: 1st strawberry ; 2nd blueberry ; and, cut both in half, we (hubby and I) could both try each. I'm sensitive to artificial sweeteners and sweets, itself! I believe woman that greets us (strong accent) she maintains lovely attitude, with beautiful outlook and overall outstanding personality. It is my belief, she said, it's apricot base. Actually, my aunty and I, wandered around and that's when we got to see tarts. And, our own multiple inquiries as to what it is, made of, etc., from, what I can taste, it is unnecessary for artificial/additional sweetness, it brings out the natural taste of fruits, that top each one. Iit so much, my hubby, made attempts to get more, just because he knew, how much I'd love to have more. The desserts here are for sweettooths, so be prepared for a major sugar rush. My friends thought the pastries were way too sweet. I just fixed that by pairing every bite with a sip of cold milk. My favorite was the hazelnut chocolate croissant. It had a thin caramelized layer in it. Interesting croissant texture. Pistachio chocolate croissant was my second favorite. Neither had the the typical flaky croissant texture but the filling flavors make up for it. The tart was good but I thought it would've been better without the glaze. It was already extra rich. I just thought the crepe was dry. My friend's was, too. The fillings were a bit skimpy. But other than that, the food has been very good. I had a side salad, my friend had fries. My last meal there was the fluffiest, cheesiest, most delicious Quiche aux Poireaux. Swiss and leeks. The salad was fresh and an excellent accompaniment. The baguettes are so fresh and chewy authentically French. The other tarts and treats are always tempting. There are many choices of drinks from coffee to sodas to wine and beer. Now on the carry out side, I highly recommend the boeuf bourguignon with pasta and the ratatouille. One container each has 4 servings in my house. I can't wait to try the raclette. Next time. This is one of my favorite breakfast restaurants in Boulder. It genuinely has some of my favorite food in town. I always start off with a hot chocolate and an almond croissant. The hot chocolate has more of a European flavor to it as it's not overly sweet. I know that may sound odd but for all of my other hot chocolate fanatics, it's so great to have a drink that isn't too sweet and tastes more like a drink than a dessert. I get the croque madame which is fantastic. I also try them at brasserie 1010, but these are by far my favorite in town. They have a great patio outside and the inside is just as cute. The service is always excellent with people coming to check on your meal multiple times to make sure it's fantastic. While their food is excellent on its own, I recommend coming in and grabbing a pastry as an appetizer. Just be sure to wear loose fitting clothing as you will leave more full than you probably should. It's that good. read more

After many years of deprivation, Boulder has an authentic French bakery and cafe! The pastries are unbelievable, I especially love the raisin ones and the savory croissants. But what makes the place truly special is how friendly they are, and how welcome my son feels any time we come in - they always chat him up, and they have a bin of legos for the kids to play with. Such a lovely lunch experience. We stopped in for a late lunch and enjoyed several different items. Together we ordered a fruit tart with beautiful berries on top, croissant pudding (my husband said it was divine), Cesar salad, 2 Avignon sandwiches (fresh and seasoned well), two chocolate milks (one with optional whipped cream and one without that the kids really enjoyed, and cherry croissant as well as the Biarritz which- might I warn you- is yummy as well as enormous. We also got a latte and a cappuccino (for me, which was so nice and perfect for these grey days we've been having so often). The owner is really lovely and makes you feel right at home and extremely welcome in a way that is unusual in this day and age. Our 8yo son was looking rather hangry as we made our decisions, and the lovely owner noticed and gave him a mini raspberry croissant to snack on while we ordered and waited, which was such a tender and kind gesture I know I won't soon forget.
