Today, we picked up a princess cake for grandma's birthday. It is a very specific cake, but the woman knows what she likes. While we were in the bakery, we also picked up a strawberry cupcake, a strawberry macaron, and a Napoleon. The strawberry macaron had the perfect crunch to it on the outside and the inside the texture was just right, and it was very flavorful. The cream between the macaron shells had sweet little explosions of strawberry flavor, like the strawberries were dried, and then added to the cream without being chewy. It was very interesting and my son loved. The star of the show was a princess cake. My MIL loves princess cakes and she noted that this one was exceptionally moist and delicious which is perfect. I just wanted to make her day and I'm glad that we found le Gateau Elegant to help us make her day even more special.

I have always wanted to try this cute little cake shop because I heard that they had princess cakes. Not only do they have princess cakes, but they have princess cake slices! When I went in the shop, it is so cute and the service is so nice! It said they were hiring and it made me wanna work there! Everything looks so good but let's get to the taste. I bought a slice of the green princess cake with the raspberry filling because that is classic. It was absolutely delicious! so yummy ! so perfectly made! I can't wait to go back and try the orange princess cake with an apricot filling! I've never heard of that. I don't think we do that in Sweden, but I've never met a princess cake that I didn't like and I love apricot filling so I'm excited to try it. I also love that the parking was easy. They are only open Tuesday through Saturday so be aware of that great place!!

Small, but mighty bakery with limited parking. I came here intrigued by their raving reviews for Swedish Princess Cake. They had two tables inside, but it seemed like a lot of their customers were doing takeout orders. They also don't have restrooms. We shared a slice of the princess cake, tiramisu, and the raspberry crumble. I asked if the raspberry crumble slice can be slightly heated since it was rock hard to grab piece it, but I guess that's not how you're supposed to eat it because they clearly don't do that haha. The tiramisu was everyone's favorite. The princess cake was good, just not as good as the one from SF. I think it was the ratio of the layers that was a miss for me. Their cakes look amazing and seem to be very popular. But I'm onto my next find for a comparable Swedish princess cake to the one I had from SF.

Peanut butter cookie & key lime macaron. Both baked to perfection!

All their stuff looked yummy. I opted for a peanut butter cookie and a key lime macaron. Both were baked to perfection. The texture of each were just what I'd expect (chewy/soft). They had some cakes and basic cupcakes and mini pies too. Couple of seats in there, and had an easy transaction with the employee.

This is a cute little spot with great decor and a nice selection of treats for the size of the shop. There is even some indoor seating. I sampled some petit fours, macarons and cupcakes and everything was ok but the cake was a little dry for my taste and the petit fours had a thick coating, almost as if they had been frozen. They were not delicate and fresh tasting as I had hoped. We did enjoy our macarons and the girl who helped us was nice but when I asked for a restroom she said they did not have one for public use. Most establishments make a restroom available for paying customers at eateries so I was disappointed but overall I probably would not return here anyway. Parking was a nightmare and it seems more geared towards customized cakes orders than stop-ins for treats.

Karen and Jackie were an absolute joy to work with throughout the entire wedding planning process. From my engagement party cake to the bridal shower cake, and finally to our stunning wedding cake, everything they created was both beautiful and delicious. Our wedding cake featured layers of chocolate cake with truffle and raspberry, Swedish princess, and chocolate/vanilla cake with mocha buttercream. The flavor and texture of the cake was incredible--we received so many compliments from our guests! Thank you so much, Karen and Jackie, for bringing my dream wedding cake to life I highly recommend Le Gateau Elegant for any special occasion!

Le Gateau is my partner's go-to cake for all birthdays, every year! Their princess cake is a repeat request every year and everyone always asks about where the cake is from. The sponge cake is lightly sweet and fluffy and the marzipan isn't overly almond. I like their chocolate decadence - super rich and chocolately and pairs really well with ice cream or whipped cream. They're awesome here - we've called days in advance and hours in advance and they've accommodated us well every time.

The large chocolate cake is the Kahlúa chocolate. It is to die for.

The chocolate Kailua cake is to die for! I have had it for 3 different occasions now and it is perfect. Not too sweet. Different layers of deliciousness. It's a must buy if you like chocolate cake. I have also had the princess cake and can say it's the Best is the Bay! I was surprised to see the other day that they also have pies. I feel like pie is a great dish to bring to a family function. So the next time my parents have I get together. I will definitely be stopping in to buy a pie. I love how they have a variety of cookies and slices of cake.

This is the bread pudding that I bought with mold on it

Found mold on my food. Quite a bit of it. The girl in the front was very nice but mold is inexcusable

Receiving a texted coupon for 15% off my order, I was excited to use it since I needed a birthday cake. Though there was an online code, I could not use the discount online. I called the shop several times, but there was no answer, and I even left a voice message but never heard a call back. Finally I noticed there was number on the website to text so I did, and got a response. The response was that it was too late to order the cake, and the coupon couldn't be used online ordering system because the online ordering system was different from what was used in the store. BUT I was told I can still call my order in and pay in advance over the phone to get the 15% discount if I still wanted cupcakes, and if the store didn't answer, the person sending the text said he/she would contact the store. I appreciated that kind gesture. The next morning, I settled for cupcakes and decided to call the order in and pick up the cupcakes in the afternoon since I had no time that morning to go to the store. But lo and behold, I called and again no one answered. I texted the same number from the day before and a response came back that they would contact the store to give me a call. I checked in by calling the store two more times and still no answer. And no one called back that afternoon either. Sadly, I had to give up, but was glad to give business to a way more responsive bakery with delicious cakes.

I say it all the time in my reviews. I've had access to a plethora of coffee and matcha industry. And wherever I am on the globe, I always look for these shops during our adventures. Milly & Illian. My gosh. So welcoming. So proud of the shop, its products and their leadership. I hope the owners know. First timer here and I spent $52. Readers: the $52 was completely worth it as soon as we took a bite of the passion fruit mochi. Heaven sent. It's akin to Kailua's Bits & Bites on Oahu. Please don't ever close. Please stay open longer. This is the first time I've tried this after wanting to visit for so many years. I work full time andddd I live in 707 so it's a little bit of a trek out here. Orrrrr consider bringing this to 707- I would recommend Benicia if you are familiar with first street. You'd kill it here! I want to bring it back to my guys Milly and Illian. I'm big big big on energy and customer service and you both broughttttt it. Being 38 when I visit these very trendy IG worthy spots, I'm usually disappointed- if not by the coffee or dessert, most definitely by the customer service. Read all my reviews, it's my first comment usually. To the owners reading this, seriously give a shout out to these lovlies. They started my day on the right foot. In order to find good matcha I usually have to go out to Berkeley or SF but decided to give this spot a try considering my friend was visiting from Oakland. Upon arrival, I appreciated the parking available for customers. However after noticing some workers were cleaning up, we quickly realized we had actually came ten minutes before closing! We felt so bad so we rushed in to place our order as quickly as we could. We noticed as one of the workers were getting ready to close the main door, she was a bit rude to the other worker seemingly about doing other closing tasks. We overlooked this but were glad the other kind worker welcomed us in. I ordered mango matcha and my friend ordered a strawberry matcha which were great choices! However, I was glad I chose mango! I think their recipe definitely is better than other competing matcha spots in the area. As we waited for our drinks we noticed the cute sign they had! Definitely a nice touch to the shops ambiance. As we were getting ready to leave, the kind worker who took our order even asked us if we wanted any of their leftover pastries! We chatted and she mentioned how they were closing for a week long summer break. My friend and I picked pastries based on how they looked, and she even proceeded to tell us a bit about the flavors they had. Although I don't consume gluten free products myself, this was definitely a plus for other customers who might. When we got to the car we tried some pastries. I fell in love with the churro pastry and my friend enjoyed the muffin with seeds on top (reference picture included). Now, I will definetely be coming back and getting their pastries and matcha, thanks to that amazing worker! (wish I caught her name)

The location is easy to get to, with lots of parking behind in a lot, and it's very clean, with lots of chairs and tables; yet all were filled this Saturday evening, which is a good sign. There are too many pastries, treats, and drinks to even cover, and we spent a few minutes trying to find our choices, which you mainly pick from cabinets using a self-serve tray and tongs. For drinks and cake (whole or sliced), you order those at the counter. We decided on some pastries, some cake slices, and a drink. And S'mores was the predominant theme today. We ordered a raspberry fruit bite, 2 chocolate supreme croissants, 2 S'mores Belgian waffles, a sugar mochi donut, a coffee donut croissant, 2 slices of S'mores chocolate marshmallow cake, and a slice of rainbow cake. We also got the cream cheese puff and the crème brûlée bombolone ... quite the name! And, of course, a S'mores frappe! The server helping us at the register was polite and efficient, but there was only one register open and a long line. As such, other folks were helping gather the goodies from the cake case, and as we were taking these to go, we did not realize until we were home that the rainbow cake was not a rainbow cake, but a THIRD slice of S'mores cake. Ugh. That one was chosen by the 8-year-old, who was understandably not happy, and the additional insult of paying extra (above the cost of the S'mores) for a cake we didn't get made ME unhappy too! Paid $8.29, got a $6.99 cake slice. The pastries are generally good, with some very good and some more of a "meh." Among the best were the raspberry fruit bite and the coffee donut croissant. That coffee one was a surprise, as it had a soft liquid filling we didn't realize when buying, and the taste was very coffee, which I loved. Will get that again for sure. The S'mores chocolate supreme croissant was also popular. The crème brûlée bombolone was different, with a light pastry and a filling different from what I usually find in crème puffs, and it was tasty. The waffles were not a light and airy as we would have liked, but the flavor was good. The mochi donut was a bit dry as well, not up to true Japanese bakery standards, and the cream cheese puff was all puff and short on the cream cheese (see photos). And the S'more cake was good for flavor, very rich and S'morey, but the presentation really is lacking. Not that I normally compare one chain to another, but for example, when we get Crumbl, the product is very close to the advertising. Not so with the S'more cake, and I am not even sure all the layers were there and in the proper order or proportion; check out the photos and see what I mean. However, the flavor was spot on, and that is the ultimate goal, although the "eyes eat first," as we Yelpers know! And the highlight was not a pastry or cake, but the S'more frappe. It was layered beautifully, fresh-tasting, and very S'morey (yes, a new word I now love!). We even got a second, as we had to eat this there so it could be shared by the group, and it was calling us! Definitely hope it is available next visit, and Starbucks could take a lesson in quality versus price point. Some of the pastries here are really not worth the cost for the product (would skip the cream cheese puff, for example, and the mochi donut), but everything else was very good. Other than an error in fulfilling the order correctly and a couple a poor pastries (quality), it was a good first visit, and we all would come back when near a location.
