Excellent breakfasts - food served hot along with hot coffee Service is exact, friendly, and you don't feel rushed Clean, bright, not all that noisy (when I first arrived very quiet then as more folks arrived, slight increase) Outside seating available and they have tables for large groups

A cup of tomato and basil soup with a flatbread ripened with tomato, cheese, sunnyside-up eggs and harissa, and a mixed greens salad hit the spot on a windy 40' morning. Not cheap, but I this location is around the corner where we stayed.

A friend and I ended up here on a whim--we hadn't planned to eat but wanted a break from the heat. Since we were already inside, we decided to grab a bite and see how it went. I ordered the lemonade and the feta flatbread, and both were delicious. The flatbread was packed with flavor, and as a feta lover, it hit the spot. I also couldn't resist trying a chocolate chip cookie, especially with all the tempting dessert options. While the food was tasty, it is on the pricier side, so keep that in mind. The service could have been a bit more attentive, but the overall atmosphere was inviting and pleasant. I'd definitely stop by again to try more of their menu!

~$29. Egg sandwich. Underwhelming and meager. Bun was a bit stale and burnt. But great job on the egg. Apple turnover. Apple? Apple flavored.... Bacon side. Good job. Didn't kill it. Not bad, just wouldn't go back. Dine-in and they will bring you a menu, take your order, drop your food. Period. Ask for water and check.

Another decent chain with good food to check out. The staff are excellent and the avocado toast is also quite good for breakfast. They have a funky practice if serving americano coffees in a small soup bowl, which I rather enjoy. The ambience is ok to good. It is set up to serve a lot of people at once. So the layout of chairs is done with that in mind.

I got a Matcha and croissant from here. The Matcha was OK, but the croissant was quite nice. I also really like the ambience of this café.

Had a pleasant experience here and the service was excellent! I had the soft boiled eggs plate and was very pleased. We ordered a crookie and were surprised with how good it tasted.

The ambiance is really nice here. You're not rushed and it's really cozy in spite of its size. The staff was okay. Not overly friendly, overly attentive, or overly engaged which is fine if that's your thing, but I like to chat and hear things like, my name is ---- I'll be your server, or even a my name is ---- let me know if I can get you anything. My croque monsieur was okay, nothing to write home about. My husband had the quiche, he loved it, I tried it and again it was okay. He also had a tomato soup that he wasn't a fan of, yet I really liked it, but it was because it had chunks of tomato and felt more like it should have been on pasta rather than calling it a soup, so I get it. We ordered a lentil soup for our son and that was really yummy and hearty. It's was nice to go once, but I think I'll go try others since the choices are endless.

Get the sunny side breakfast bowl! It's just a delicious bowl full of hearty ingredients. The avocado toast was good but didn't wow me as much. Good coffee and relaxing vibe. I would come back even with the pricey menu:P

Le Pain Quotiedien is a cozy spot for coffee or breakfast as long as you have time to kill. I spent last week in the hotel across the street and decided to give this place a try during a work break. I was seated right away, but service after was very, very slow. My server was pleasant, but not overtly friendly or busy. She simply took her time and was often just leaning against the counter. The food was delicious, but a little overpriced as many of the other reviews are saying. I ordered a chai tea which really hit the spot. The chicken mozzarella melt was also divine, but I hate when my food is a struggle to eat. The pieces were big enough where they were difficult to handle. The bread was too soggy to simply pick up, but the crust too stiff to cut. Again, it was delicious, but it was a bit of a challenge. Not really looking for work in a meal when you aren't expecting it! All in all, this is a cozy and sweet spot, but only if you have extra time and money to spare.

Service was decent but it's a grab and go spot so that's to be expected. The mini carrot cake was disappointing. It was sweet but I tasted no carrot. Blueberry muffing tasted great--love vegan choices! I might return to try something else...maybe.

I went in for the new chocolate pecan pumpkin crookie but they were sold out so I got the pumpkin twist pastry instead. It was really good! The bread was flaky and the pumpkin puree reminded me of the Halloween episode of The Office where Dwight got the pumpkin stuck on his head.

The standout of the morning was the breakfast side potatoes--crispy, seasoned perfectly, and easily something I'd come back for. The breadbasket came with three pastries, which felt a bit smaller than expected, but the almond croissant more than made up for it. On the heartier side, the chicken and waffles were extremely filling thanks to the dense waffles, so definitely a dish to tackle with an appetite. One of the biggest surprises was the brunch salad with salmon, which ended up being one of the best salads I've had in a long time--fresh, balanced, and satisfying. The breakfast sandwich was another highlight: so good that it's now the new standard I'll compare all other breakfast sandwiches to. The smoked salmon bagel was also a fun experience, served deconstructed so you can build each bite exactly how you like it. Not everything was a hit--the French toast wasn't my favorite--but the overall meal was strong enough that it barely detracted from the experience. Brunch offers a few additions beyond the regular breakfast menu, but overall it's very similar to their standard breakfast, just with a couple of extra options. It tends to get full on the weekends to make a reservation. Bottom line: Penbrook is a beautiful hotel restaurant that punches above its weight--excellent service, memorable dishes, and several items worth returning for.

The space itself is bright and airy and a bit on the noisy side. But the service was very good, and the food was served quite quickly. I've been on a shakshuka kick lately, so I opted for the the Sweet Potato Shakshuka, which is described as: Sweet Potato Curry, with Chickpeas and Sunny Eggs with a the chicken add-on - gotta get that protein in, after all. This was one of the most unique shakshukas I'd ever had... It literally tasted like a curry dish you might get at your local Indian restaurant, with a bit of a brunch flair to it. The curry itself had a wee bit of spice and was a bit sweet - but that could have been from the sweet potatoes. The chicken was served in a bowl on the side, which felt a bit... odd... I would've expected it to be incorporated into the main dish. It was kind of bland and a bit lukewarm, so I don't know that I'd order that again... but I would definitely order this again!

We were sat in the solarium area, and it was during the heat dome, and it was really warm in there. Otherwise, though, it's completely charming inside and reminds us of some of the best French bistros we've been to in the country (e.g. Balzathar, Le Supreme). The three cocktails we tried--the frose, le jardin, and the clouseau--were all stunners. And of course the bread deserves another special mention, *especially* the room temperature butter. Thank you for not serving hard as hell butter! We shared the warm shrimp salad to start, and for $31, we were expecting more than a few avocado slices and 4 shrimp on it, but c'est la vie. The dressing was incredible, and the greens were crunchy. That's actually the only dish of the night that we thought was unfairly overpriced. One of us ordered the burger and the other got the rabbit pappardelle--you've got to get rabbit when you see it on a menu, which isn't often enough! There was a good amount of super tender meat and the pasta was perfectly al dente, all in a lightly stunning sauce. Chef's kiss. The burger was, no surprise, another triumph. There was juicy meat, bun integrity, and all the right accouterment notes. The fries are standard. Our daughter got their mac-n-cheese, which is probably just the gratin dish renamed. It was OK. We kind of got out of control for dessert and ordered the pot de creme, the cookie dough ice cream, and the profiteroles. Honestly, these were all good, but nothing that stood out as exemplary as with the savory stuff. Our only major complaint was the service. It was really spotty and while there was a very, very long gap in between when we got our water and then put in our drinks, but our mains came out almost directly after the salad. And the guy was just not very hospitable. Not necessarily a "bad" experience...it just could have been a lot better. Four stars, and we have already declared that we will be back again to "The Dip" because there is so much else on the menu that we want to try.
