We hit the jackpot here! Surprised that Corvallis has this gem but I'm glad it's here. Arrived a bit before 11am and noticed 3 different customers walk out with tons of stuff. When I walked inside, the almond croissants were almost gone as well as a lot of other baked goods! Service was great and helpful. Kudos to them. The girl at the counter gave me tips on how to cut the Napoleon. For the food we had a pain au chocolate, almonds croissant, and Napoleon. The clear winner was the almond croissant. Nice and flaky, not overly sweet with a smooth almond paste ( most places have gritty almond paste). The butter they use is also top notch. The quality in French pastries is often due to the butter. The pain au chocolate was also very tasty but I thought could use a bit more chocolate. I would recommend it to anyone that likes chocolate. The Napoleon was delicious but not "wow" as others have mentioned although very good. The puff pastry was nice and crispy even after being in the fridge the whole day ( we saved ours for dinner time). The creme was like half Bavarian and half whipped cream. The chocolate topping was too sweet, otherwise a good Napoleon. Having tried French pastries all over San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas at high end bakeries as well as mom and pop shops, I have to say their pastries are right up there when it comes to taste with the top dogs. read more

Having just moved to DC, where a good croissant is inexplicably rare outside of Georgetown's Patisserie Poupon (someone tell me I'm wrong, I beg you), I have even more respect for this excellent bakery. Why Corvallis is lucky enough to have them while our nation's great capital (our great nation's capital? I get confused) gets almost nothing really topnotch in the french pastry line I don't really understand, but there they are, and you would be foolish to miss out. read more

One of the most authentic bakeries in town. The croissants are flaky, light and delicious. The crepes are tres savory. Skip the heavy English eggy version. I ordered a cake for a baby shower from out of town. Its always tough ordering sight unseen, but Le Patissier knocked it out of the park! The cake was absolutely beautiful and so decadent. I did a chocolate sponge with raspberry mousse topped with ganache - show stopper for sure. I also picked up a selection of pastries from the counter when picking up the cake - all fantastic. Not that impressive. I really wanted to like this place since the environment looked promising. It's cutely decorated but it still has this strange, "off" feeling to it. The pastries were decent and the crepes were okay. Not bad but nothing to write home about. I've gone in a few times and the menu is always pretty limited and things are sold out. The drinks are a whole different story. The woman at the counter didn't know what teas they served and had to walk over and read them off the jars for me. When I've ordered steamed milk drinks like cappuccinos and tea lattes, the foam is REALLY poorly done and and milk has been scalded a couple times. This is just another one of those little Corvallis restaurants that tries so hard to be fancy and special like Portland but ultimately falls short. read more

I've been to "Le Patissier" a few times and it never disappoints! I grew up in Switzerland so I know my croissants and the croissants they have here are just as good if not even better than some "boulangeries" (bakeries). My fiance and I tried a lot of different pastries and deserts and my fiance always has to have his almond croissant. Nice people. Do wish for a nicer inside decoration but it's not going to keep me away, but would make me stay longer :) read more

This is one of my favorite places in town. The folks there are friendly and the pastries are delicious. Lunch is also great, especially the quiche and their take on the BLT. This little restaurant just became my favorite place for breakfast. Their antioxidant crepe was spectacular! Cherries, strawberries, and crunchy pomegranate seeds in a not too sweet sauce wrapped in a light crepe. The best I've ever had. They also have wonderful chocolate croissants and leek quiche. It is the BEST bakery around Corvallis. I've just tried some pastries and cakes, not from breakfast menu. To me, Napoleon and fruit tart are the best for dessert and Pain au chocolate, Pain au raisin, cream cheese pastry with blueberry and apricot are my favorites as well. You shouldn't miss it out for your delight. Just go and pick whatever you like or whatever it seems delicious. You won't regret waht you had. I gaurantee you! read more

Get a table away from the door if you don't want to be distracted during peak times though, there seems to be a steady stream of eager beavers on weekend morning and the staff appeared totally stressed out! We have enjoyed the pastries since they reopened, but Saturday we decided to have lunch. We tried the tomato Brie and the chicken béchamel fillings in buckwheat crepes. I wish Le Patissier was closer to my house! I would go every weekend. They made our wedding cake at a very reasonable price. When choosing a cake, the flavors were not what I was expecting, but they gave us samples of everything and we were delighted to try something new and different. What else can I say? What a cute place with its lace curtains, cozy tables and antiques. Everything looked so yummy that we had to buy a fruit tart to share, as well. Glad we did!
