I seriously can't think of any breakfast/brunch joint better than Le Peep. I literally always get the drifter skillet because it's so good and can't imagine even trying anything else. The coffee here is even really good and I'm extremely picky when it comes to coffee. Now although you might have to wait 10/15 minutes in the small area in the front it's totally worth it for the amazing food, great service and all around atmosphere! Thumbs up!!! read more

Yum! My breakfast was excellent. I got a veggie skillet, and it was huge. I only ate half, and that's a rare problem for me. It had potatoes, zucchini, green ask red bell peppers, red onions, mushrooms, and about a cup of cheese. Healthy, not really. But delicious! My guy had the lumberjack, and he said it was good. Everything seems to be served with their peasant potatoes, which are really just home fries. They offer both turkey bacon and turkey sausage for those who prefer that. read more

Our weekend breakfast spot. Eggs benedict with salmon or the classic with ham - eggs poached perfectly, crusty English muffin, cream cheese and salmon with spinach. Very tasty Skillets are great too - crunchy toasty potatoes with a host of mix-ins (ham, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, cheese, whatever!) and then poached eggs on top for the finish. Great kids menu. French toast is delicious, chocolate chip pancakes, fresh fruit (good fruit too). When it's warm the outdoor seating is wonderful. Waiters can take a while but if you're there to relax, it's perfect timing. read more

Decided to go here for a quick lunch because we'd heard so many good things about it. The menu sounded really great and we had a tough time deciding what to get but we both ultimately ended up disliking what we ordered. The chicken panini was tough, dry and had barely anything in it. The southwest salmon wrap was just plain awful. I couldn't finish half of it and my boyfriend couldn't even take a bite. It was very mushy and tasted awful. I waited for the waitress to come over to tell her I couldn't eat it but she only came back to clear our plates. When she asked if I wanted a box because I didn't eat it I told her "no, I didn't like it". To which she just said okay and brought the check. She didn't offer anything to make up for it. The French fries were pretty good. But other than that, avoid it. read more

Since we moved to Charlotte, Le Peep has always been the go to place for breakfast. The food is great, the people are friendly and if you get there early enough on Sunday the lines aren't too long . . . yet. I always go for the french toast and bacon. It's fantastic. the skillets (The Lumberjack, The Wanderer, etc) are probably what they are known for but everything they make is delicious. Also they have a program where you get one breakfast every time you get your card stamped 10 times. Great place. But if you don't try it that's okay because the line will be just that much shorter when I want to go. read more

My daughter drove 30 mins there and 30 mins back to get a pickup order to surprise me with brunch from a place that we hadn't tried before. She said she paid for the order. The hostess at the pickup counter walked away, came back with her order and started asking her what she did with the receipt. My daughter let her know that she did not give her a receipt. The hostess apologized as she found it and handed it to my daughter to sign. The hostess told my daughter her order were just the two bags. My daughter grabbed the two bags and came home. Once home she realized an item was missing. Upon calling back, the lady answering the phone told her the item was beside her bags and she didn't get it. She offered to have them ready if she came back or to talk with the manager. My daughter asked to talk with the manager since it would be an hour (there and back). The manager basically gets on the phone and tells my daughter that she doesn't know what to tell her because the item was beside her bags on the counter. My daughter let the manager know that the hostess told her it was just the two bags and she did not grab anything else since there were other customer orders alongside of hers. So the manager just hesitates and said again, I don't know what to tell you. The customer service from the hostess wasn't the best but definitely expected more from the manager to at least try to make the situation right, especially knowing a customer made an hour total commute to support your establishment. Once we finally started eating, we found a couple pieces of styrofoam in the fruit cup which she paid extra to get. We looked at all the other styrofoam containers to see if perhaps it came from one of our boxes but the other boxes weren't missing anything. Of course we did not bother calling back since they did not even attempt to provide decent customer service during the first call. The food was just ok. Definitely not worth going out the way for again, especially with the subpar customer service. We will not support this establishment ever again! read more

Amazing! Delicious! Must Have! Ordered Crab Cakes Benedict, Belgian Waffle, and White Mocha. Yes that's 2 dishes but hahaha I couldn't decided and I wanted it all. Egg was poached perfectly. Crab cakes was full of real crab meat and not overwhelmed by bread crumbs. Belgian Waffle was scrumptious. White Mocha was incredible. I'd recommend to all. Everyone is kind and very warming. I have been eating breakfast at Le Peep's for 6 years or more, and have never been disappointed. I believe this is 1 of the top 3 best breakfast places in South Charlotte. Everything is good. Ask for their dark roast coffee, it's the best. read more

A great breakfast/brunch spot. The skillets are great (very large) and the omelettes were delicious. Note: I've been 4 times but only for breakfast. The ingredients seem fresher than typical diner. For some bizarre reason the salsa is served piping hot, which doesn't work. They have to cool it down for you (they don't keep any cold). This has happened all 4 times for me. Tables only: no booths. Attentive friendly staff. Frequent diner card available. All in all a great brunch place in the arboretum. read more

I had heard of LePeep for years ..... both positive and negative opinions. My recent breakfast experience was mixed. One of a group of 5, I was happy 5hat we were able to be seated quickly. Though I didn't find the hostesses particularly welcoming, our waitress was very friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The menu was a mix of every day favorites as well as some specialty items. The choices were amazing and certainly tempting. Everyone in my party got something different. My own more traditional breakfast was okay but not any more than that. The temperature of my eggs and grits was tepid at best. I was also taken aback slightly at the price. For an ordinary meal I thought it was pricey. Paying at the counter I was once again disappointed in the cool demeanor of the staff. No thank you, how was it, or hope to see you again. I don't know if I will return because I've enjoyed better meals, better prices and a more friendly ambiance at other restaurants. read more

My first (but not my last) expirence with Le Peep was this past Saturday evening. The owner open up her resturant for us for a Sunday School Social and we could not have been more pleased. Not only did we have the entire resturant to our selfs the food was beyond delicious. Chicken Marsala, Orange glazed salmon, and all the trimmings that went with it. The staff was so attentive and professional. With the perfect food, lots of wonderful friends, room filled with love and laughter...a PERFECT evening. Thank you Tela. I've been going to thus restaurant for over a decade and the service & food were always great, until yesterday. They must have been short staffed because there weren't that many people, yet it took forever to get our food. My omelette was way over cooked (burnt edges). I sent it back but didn't want a new one because we didn't have time to wait. When we finally got our check, the waitress wrote discount on the ticket and told the hostess to give me a discount. She took 20% off only. I've never been to a restaurant that fully didn't refund an order that was sent back for not being cooked properly. read more

Consistently great breakfast food for a reasonable price. I am a creature of habit and always order the Harvest Eggs Benedict, which features a melange of sautéed veggies and a side of their savory potatoes. The service is great, but the only downside to this place is they close at 2:30p, and the wait can be long (on the weekends) during breakfast/brunch time. Pretty quiet for 1 in the afternoon on a Friday. Decor leaves a lot to be desired- dark and gloomy inside on a bright day. We both had the Hen Pen. English muffin was burned, hash browns were so so but the sausage and scrambled eggs were fine (how could you screw those up?) Sunday breakfast is my favorite meal of the week, and a good yogurt & granola parfait with fruit is my favorite breakfast, so I was pretty excited to see that Le Peep had a Breakfast Banana Split on their menu, which on the website was listed as "bananas, strawberries, yogurt and granola." Yum. Perfect. Upon arriving at Le Peep and taking a glance at the menu, I saw that it was listed as bananas, strawberry syrup, strawberry yogurt and granola. Hmmmm, not as excited. What came out was an old banana split in half in a bowl of store-bought strawberry yogurt with frozen blueberries and strawberries in their respective juices. It was a lot of liquid all meshing together wrong and tasting pretty processed. The coffee was pretty bad, and I'm no coffee snob. The fella got corned beef hash with potatoes, eggs and an English muffin. He said the English muffin and eggs were the best part... I couldn't even see any seasoning on the potatoes, and he said he couldn't taste any either. The atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired with Pepto-Bismol colored walls, wood paneling and stenciled stone murals. The service was great, but the place just felt... sad. Perhaps we should've caught on to the fact that the Manhattan Bagel place two shops down was more busy than the actual breakfast place. read more

Nothing "sensationnel" about this place. If you are looking for a french bistro feel go to Epcot. The decor or lack of it was cold and run down. Pancakes and waffles looked good and were big. Their sausage was tasty and the hot chocolate was rich . Everything else I tried meh. We ordered biscuits to start and they had a "reheated for a third time" texture and taste. They were already cut in half so they could reheat the inside. I ordered the bagel sandwich trying to keep it simple but after a long session of jaw aerobics trying to chew the rubber-like, over-fried egg I only ate half from exhaustion. I just love Le Peep! I discoverd them originally when I lived in Colorado and there was more stores then than now. What a shame, because this place is amazing. The food is always consistent and delicious. I had my favorite, eggs Benedict with the phesant potatoes and moms sassy apples ( these are so delicious). I have tried several dishes from the past and the present. They closed the only one they had where I love now so I have to seek them out when travleing to Texas or North Carolina. The wait staff is always friendly. If you are a fan of orange juice order some because it is fresh squeezed and delicious. I love you Le Peep! read more

More like Le Plop! Second time was NOT a charm. Thought I'd go back and give it another try after a mediocre breakfast the first time. I tried the "18 Wheeler". It comes with eggs, bacon or sausage, "peasant" potatoes and french toast. The meal was just bland, I've had a better breakfast at a T/A truck stop on Route 80. Eggs are eggs, link sausage was barely cooked, "peasant" potatoes were just that, poor! They lacked taste and texture. The french toast was two large pieces of bread, over dipped in a plain, tasteless batter. Using sliced sandwich bread for french toast was sub par for a restaurant with a name like Le Peep. The service was fine, the waitress can't help the lack of ability in the kitchen. It has gotten dirtier from my last visit over 18 months ago. The carpet was dirty and the walls were banged up. Le Plop needs a face lift. In agreeing with the other yelpers, the decor is lacking. There weren't many patrons dining during my visit and it was extremely loud. Good Luck! We just weren't impressed by this place. The food was just OK... nothing special. The "peasant potatoes" that are supposedly seasoned are really just plain home fries with no seasoning at all. Brought my youngest to breakfast here. We were seated right away, and ordered within about 10 minutes. Our food was out in a reasonable amount of time. My Spinnaker (egg white omelet with mushrooms, bacon, and spinach) was pretty good, although I ended up eating around a lot of the bacon. It wasn't crispy, and seemed kind of flabby. Ew. Overall though, it was pretty decent for egg whites. The potatoes were pretty good. Seasoned well, and not as greasy as in many places. My meal also came with an English muffin, either white or honey wheat. My son ordered a funny face pancake. Now, I know that this is going to sound picky, but the pancake started with the standard round pancake, with a face made with whipped cream and a couple of pieces of fruit. It got a little weird when they added 2 ears, sort of like Mickey Mouse. If Mickey had gotten caught in some kind of farm machinery. One ear was maybe 2 inches around. The other was huge, and more like a giant tumor off of the head part. Seems like if you are going to bother trying to make it fun for kids, just do it right. If you are pouring a pancake and see that you have totally jacked it up, stop cooking that one and pour another one. It's maybe a few cents worth of wasted batter, right? The pancake tasted fine, but the syrup container they brought was SO hot that we couldn't touch it. The waitress even warned us about it. I tried to let it cool for a minute, but then our food was getting cold. I ended up grabbing it with a napkin like a pot holder, but it was really a mess. After eating, we waited. And waited. I tried to make eye contact with our waitress, but she walked over to a table and sat down, talking to a customer. Seemed like she was also taking his order, but also just chatting. I dunno... I think I have found my new lunch spot! I went here for lunch today although I ate breakfast. I had the Mega Skillet which was absolutely delicious. The bacon was crispy and fresh and the sausage in it was very good. Loved the basted eggs on top. I will definitely go back here again. I want to try the crepes out. If you enjoy dining with flies, then look no further! Le peep is the place for you! Three stars, really? I mean, really? I don't know about anyone else, but I don't want my food with a side of fly. Flies, flies, everywhere--even near my food! If the fly-fest at brunch wasn't enough, the service at Le Peep was just as terrible. So bad in fact that I would even go so far as to say it was the worst service I'd ever had. And the place was empty, only two other tables besides mine were occupied, so the busy excuse is out the window. And the food, dear God, the food was foul. So terrible that after taking one bite, I had to cover the offending plate with the only napkin I'd been given, so as not to be reminded of it's taste. And the atmosphere--what atmosphere? Mcdonald's has a better atmosphere than Le Peep. And at Mcdonald's I don't feel the need to be armed at the ready with a flyswatter in each hand. What a filthy restaurant. I took a shower when I got home. Three stars? Come on. Even in Charlotte, where good food is nothing but a fanciful dream, this was bad--shockingly bad. This place deserves negative stars! This is a good place for breakfast/brunch. The wait was minimal (15 min) on a Sunday mornjng. The food was good and came out within a short time. I had the Lumberjack Breakfast. The pancakes were too "cakey". Next time I ll try another option. Overall a good dining experience. read more

What a perfect breakfast spot! I have been looking for something like this since I moved to Charlotte and so happy I tried it out. The potatoes are crisp and perfect. The omelette was huge and tasty. Pancakes were fluffy. But my favorite thing was the link sausage! That was great! I have been coming here for a while now and still have tons more to try on the menu. South Charlotte, while having an abundance of most everything else, seems to have a lack of quality breakfast establishments. Enter Le Peep. While not being a super flashy joint, Le Peep doles out fresh and tasty breakfast items that satisfy the senses. My choice today - tomato and cheese omelet. The hubbys pick - banana and strawberry crepes. The best part - you'll find neither item on the menu. They totally let us customize and create our own (good thing since I'm a veg-head). The waitress didn't even blink when hubby made his strange (yet super yummy) pick. Just smiled and said "sounds good"! Breakfast isn't breakfast with out a good cup o' Joe. Le Peep delivered yet again. My own carafe of coffee on the table. And good coffee at that! Waitstaff was good - we weren't bothered by them much, yet we weren't ignored either. Service was fast and correct. Just a few things to point out : I saw no flies like a previous reviewer said. Zip. Zero. None. There wasn't a wait when we went, despite the fact that it was 10:30 on a Saturday. We caught a glimpse of the pancakes - HUGE! They over took the plate. Last word: I'd go again. We had breakfast here on Sept.1st . Had a skillet which was just ok. Also had crepes . Worst crepes ever. Very dry and crispy. Also tasteless. Had to wait for syrup after asking server twice. Could'nt even eat the crepes. Ordered a side of strawberries which were old and mushy. Charged $3.85 for the strawberries when the menu clearly stated $1.00 . Should have sent crepes back but just decided what's the point. But by the time I went to pay could'nt hold back and complained to the cashier. She said she would tell the manager but did'nt offer to get the manager. Called manager after getting home but was told she could have taken care of everything had she known. Why did'nt the cashier offer to call her to the front. We were excited to try this place since they are putting.. one near us in Indian Land. Very disappointino! read more

Kind of doing a round of all the breakfast spots in my area. This week was le Peep, and it was le Nope. Too bad, their menu is amazing and it probably used to be or could be again. But poor service pretty much killed it for me. Following another review I opted for the "dark roast" coffee only to be informed they had to brew a fresh batch. Ouch so no coffee while I wait for breakfast, then it dawns on me, NO COFFEE WHILE I WAIT FOR MY BREAKFAST. So then breakfast comes with a cold waffle and eggs, yum. Then I finally get my coffee, and I don't know if there is a problem with the water, a dirty cup or what, but it basically smells like a soap dish. So I probably pay $1 per sip for the coffee. Wife had a crepe that was good. So really 50/50. But come on, no excuse for poor coffee. Won't be back. read more
