During our first visit, I took a chance and ordered the grits. I normally avoid restaurant grits because they're almost always bland, flavorless and gelatinous. But the grits at Easy Like Sunday were completely different in the best way. Creamy with the slightest grainy texture and so perfectly seasoned that you don't need to add butter, salt, pepper or anything else. I had been daydreaming about those grits for two years. We finally made it back this past Friday and arrived when the doors opened at 9:00am. We were seated immediately. I ordered the Little Bit of Everything with eggs, bacon, those unforgettable grits and a thick, fluffy, delicious buttermilk pancake. That first spoonful of grits tasted exactly the way I remembered, maybe even better. My eyes actually welled up with tears. I know that sounds extreme but I'm not exaggerating. After waiting two years to taste them again, they felt familiar and comforting, like coming home. Our waitress, Diana, made the morning even more special. She was warm, welcoming and accommodating. When I told her I could nearly cry over those grits, she didn't make me feel silly or dramatic. She agreed saying,"Oh, I know! We have the best grits!" She said she completely understood why that first bite made me feel emotional. Being served by Diana felt like being taken care of by an old friend. We had never met her before, yet she treated us as though she had known us for years. Easy Like Sunday is a hidden little treasure tucked away across the street from Park Road Shopping Center. It's the kind of place you take someone special for a first date, an anniversary, a milestone, a birthday or simply a morning you want to remember. The atmosphere is cozy and polished, the food is wonderful, and Diana is an absolute gem. We cannot wait to return!

I went to La Peep for breakfast. The restaurant is surprisingly large. The tables were spaced nicely. The service was really great and the portions were huge. They have a lot of different items to choose from. I had the Irish Benedict and my friendhad a scramble with pancakes. My food was great, but he said his eggs were a tad bit to dry. The pancakes are HUGE and thick and fluffy and oh so delicious. They had a huge variety of food to choose from and the prices were pretty reasonable. They do offer flavored coffee, however I chose the regular standard brew, however it did have a hint of the flavor of the day. When I mentioned something to the waitress, she was so willing to bring me a new pot. I declined, but her thoughtfulness was a welcome change from most of the wait staff I have experienced. Just went to breakfast here for the first time, with my family today. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. The food came out piping hot and we didn't have to wait a long time either. It's not gourmet, but it's 10 times better than First Watch-Matthews, in price, quality and ambiance. It's smaller and much quieter. The food really leaves a lot to be desired and the service is not awesome. Management is severely lacking here you can tell by the overall attitude of the wait staff. I'm usually pretty easy going about things like that but I really got the vibe no one wanted my money here or that I was a bother. I still tipped well but I won't be back unfortunately.
