Yep, they did it: impressed me so much that I am giving it one of my few-and-far-in between, precious, five star ratings. They are THAT good. Biscuits and gravy are a southern staple and rarely have I had any that were really good, except here at Vicious Biscuit. Biscuits are their business. The most important elements are the biscuits and the gravy. Additions are many and varied, but if the basic two items are not both excellent, you will have a disappointing experience. The Vicious biscuit is the size of a hamburger bun. It is soft and there are bits of spice in the dough. These biscuits do not fall apart, but stay together and serve to soak up the wonderful sausage gravy that is poured on top of it. You can order just a biscuit with gravy for $8. And if you are timid, start here. Otherwise, there are add-ons like very good fried chicken, shrimp and grits, ham, pulled smoked pork, crab, bacon, fried shrimp. fried eggs and other combos. Super choices, so take time to study the menu which is extensive. Portions are great, very generous. I had their Vicious ($12). It was their Cheddar jalapeño biscuit, crispy fried chicken, maple sausage gravy, cowboy candy, with maple syrup drizzle. I was hesitant as to the maple syrup, but it is just enough to give accent to the gravy, but not super sweet. Wife had Fried Green 'Maters ($9.50) which were four fried green tomatoes, their signature pimento cheese with a pickled okra garnish. She could not eat it all, so I helped finish off the lone tomato and a bit of the cheese. Very good. I just can't go above 3 stars. Its such a tragedy. I come every 3-6 months to mediocrity. It's so weird because when they first opened it was delectable. I got a Vicious today although I wanted a Fat Boy. It was beautiful. The fry was golden, jalapeño biscuit was gorgeous, and it was slathered in gravy. I expected a flavor explosion and it was a dud. The Chicken had absolutely no flavor, the beautiful biscuit was flat and the gravy tasted like Libby's fresh out the can. I was so disappointed. It was indeed flat. I expected so much more. The line was line was so long we placed an online order. Sat down and we were asked to leave because we were supposed to place order in line. There were plenty of tables vacant. The sign said line moves quickly- don't believe it. Food good, but was so hard eating it in the car with 3 people. Need to post a sign telling customers not to place order online. It was suggested as a good spot for my family brunch. A few members had been there. I went to pick up the order. It's in a large plaza so parking is available. There is a line for carry out/mobile and those eating in. I got the basic, hen solo with potatoes. I also order a side of fried green tomatoes. I enjoyed the sandwich. The potato's were basic breakfast potatoes. The fried green tomatoes were okay. It could have used more seasoning. I was hungry so started with the basics sandwich. I will check out more soon. The waffle was very cinnamony & the chicken was super crispy! I do wish I would've gotten extra syrup because at some point the waffle felt a little dry. My family and I chose Vicious Biscuit as the first stop for breakfast in Charlotte. When we first walked in, we were a bit leery about it being "self-serve". We walked out and spoke to someone who had just finished eating there. The woman said it was the best breakfast she's had, so we decided to walk back inside and ordered at the counter. I had the Huevos Rancheros which was super flavorful and fresh. The portion is great for the price. The staff was super friendly too! A great biscuit indeed. Decided to give this place a try and it's a win. While it may look busy, tables turn over quickly so don't get discouraged. It's a walk up, order then find a table so if you don't know what you want right away, it's not a problem. I went with the Chicken Bacon Ranch and was not disappointed. The biscuit is a knife and forker. Not sure how I would eat this otherwise because it's a big sandwich. All the flavors of this sandwich make it a hit. It all works right down to the crisp pickles. I found this restaurant on Instagram and decided to try it during my trip to Charlotte. First the staff is soo friendly and nice! Especially for someone who is not educated in Biscuit and grits. I tried the plain Biscuit and Cheesy grits. By far the best Biscuit I have ever had. And omg the Cheesy grits insanely delicious. Second time coming here and both times it has been enjoyable. Both times I needed a quick meal and vicious biscuit got the job done. I had the Fat boy last time and enjoyed it. It was different but still good. This time I kept it simple with a biscuit, chicken, and eggs. I ordered a pancake on the side as well. Stopped by on our recent trip to Charlotte and as a biscuit lover, we had high hopes. Came right at lunch time on a Friday and it was not busy at all, so we ordered and seated ourselves no problem. We started with the Jalapeño Cheddar Pups which were really good, we also got some additional butters from the bar that paired really well with these. I got the Crab Benny which had a crab cake, fried green tomato, sunny up egg and hollandaise. Really tasty overall, the biscuit it self was fluffy and all the toppings paired very well together. This was our first time visiting Charlotte, and we decided to stop by Vicious Biscuit on our way out of town--and wow, what a pleasant surprise! From the moment we walked in, the experience was top-tier. The cashier greeted us with such kindness and humor, instantly setting a welcoming tone. He offered some great recommendations and even gave us a complimentary Sprite--talk about Southern hospitality! I ordered the Sea Biscuit, and let me just say... it was absolutely AMAZING. I visited Vicious Biscuit for a girls' brunch and found it to be a charming little spot. The process is straightforward: you order at the counter, find a table, and they bring your food out to you. Ordering went smoothly overall, but there were a couple of hiccups. My chai latte arrived and was quite good, but two of our group members didn't receive their coffee cups initially. Apparently, you're supposed to pick up coffee cups at the front, which wasn't clear to us. We had to go back up and ask for them. Additionally, one of our friends ordered orange juice, but when we inquired about it after it didn't arrive, we were told they don't sell orange juice on its own--only as part of a mimosa. When the food came, it was tasty, but the service left something to be desired. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. Decided on the Fat Boy and the Nashville Hot. My son wanted the Fat boy as well. I changed the biscuit from buttermilk to Jalapeño. The combination was so good! The food was amazing. I'm not from here, but saw this on Yelp while looking for brunch and I'm glad we came here. The Vicious Benny was delicious, and so was the Shrimp and Grits. If I were you, I would NOT get coffee with the shrimp and grits - the flavors are too contrasting. Bitter coffee (in a good way; I got decaf), savory meal. That doesn't take away from the fact of how good the food is, though. I also loved the customer service and their willingness to help decide what to get. Walk to the counter, order, pay, then go seat yourself. Also, the jelly/syrup/help yourself bar?! Getting our own coffee creamer, utensils, etc. was awesome. Great spot for brunch. I came here on a weekday during lunch. Its rather spacious with ample seating inside or out. There was not much of a crowd. I was able to order quickly. Once you place your order, you are given a number and are free to seat yourself. The servers bring your food out to you. It did not take long for my food to come out. The shrimp and grits were really good. I HATE okra...but...they had pickled okra on the side with the fried green tomatos..babay...when I tell you those okra were delicious. I found a new snack. The fried green tomatoes where just ok, they did notbtaste ripe. It also comes with a homemade tasting pimento cheese and it was delicious. The chai latte was just ok, I've had better. The ambiance was family friendly and a great place to come for a weekend breakfast. The service is mostly self-service. One fine Monday morning I returned to Vicious Biscuit. You order and pay upfront and you're given a number to place at any unoccupied table. The atmosphere is very casual and comfy. We went all in and ordered "The Vicious," and it lived up to its name. The cheddar and jalapeño biscuit, crispy fried chicken breast, and maple sausage gravy paired well together. I'm unsure of what "house cowboy candy" is, but whatever it is, it's good. We also dug into the Shrimp and Grits, and let me tell you, it was a Southern comfort dream come true. My niece is particular about her Shrimp and Grits, and theirs checked all of the boxes. Yours truly, in all my excitement, failed to read the description of the beignets before ordering. Low and behold, they were cream-filled pastries. Now, I don't do cream-filled anything, so I kindly passed them on to my niece, who was more than happy to take them off my hands. Crisis averted.
