Favorite place in Charlotte. My best friend and I go here all the time. There was a point where we would go multiple times a week. The staff is amazing, and management is so sweet and welcoming. Our waitresses always remember us and how we take specific things we order. My favorite thing is the hen pen with a biscuit, and then a crepe with whipped cream and strawberries. Pancakes were thick and the portion size for kids was generous. My hubs got the skillet - wanderer - and it was good. I had the lumberjack breakfast - I think it was called and it was good. This wasn't a five star because it didn't wow me. Everything was average except the skillet and pancake...those were above. The grits were below average and I'm certain I could've made better at home. We would go back and get their crepes because they looked delicious. I'll also try a latte. read more

Some folks are of the opinion that it's damn near impossible for a restaurant to screw up breakfast. Trust me, it's possible. And while to say that Le Peep screws it up would be an exaggeration, they don't exactly get it right either. For the price and the wait, I'd expect that they'd do much better. read more

Although I have been to this restaurant many times, the quality of the food and service has declined. My father ordered the Spinnaker and was served a spinach quiche. He didn't want to complain so he kept it but the crust was so hard that he could hardly eat it. I ordered the Harvest salad with grilled chicken and the chicken was burned so that it was completely black. My mother's order, the salmon wrap, was the only dish that came out correctly. Our server never returned to our table to check on us until she brought the bill. Very disappointing meal. read more

I don't even remember what my fiance got, but I do remember her impression of her breakfast was as unmemorable as mine. The name LePeep reminds people of Eggs Benedict. That is a double-edged sword. My bene was the "Crab cake" one. I would have like REAL crab in there though. Imitation crab meat is nothing more than fish, chopped, formed into strings and dyed on the edges. It resembles vinyl. Tasted like it too. Especially since one side was burned black as pavement, while the other side never touched the grill. Add the uncooked English muffin, overcooked poached egg, and you really don't have a winner. But hey- they did cover it in hollandaise sauce, so I couldn't see it. it's all good now right? read more

An overall meal that was not nasty which I liked. I ordered the seasonal menu item of a red velvet waffle but sadly it did not taste like red velvet. If i could guess I would say it's probably just a regular waffle dyed red. Though it was a Sunday morning they got us in quick but it was later in the morning. Service was okay but I almost thought that they didn't have straws because our server made the mistake of not giving them to us because I saw them in her apron. Also there were only artificial sweeteners on the table and we were never given the regular that we asked for. Personally I think that it is overpriced for the portion, quality, and experience but if you need a breakfast place this is not a bad choice. When I first went there to eat, the food was fantastic, service even better! Then we made a huge mistake in having my daughters wedding reception at La Peep. DON'T DO IT! Nothing in the dining room was set up as we had discussed and asked for. We requested that the wine we had furnished be served with the meal-as we walked in the door after the wedding, we were asked if we wanted a glass of wine. Luckily we did not run out! The wedding meal was totally AWFUL! Veggies were so soggy, chicken dry and not good at all-I personally found a hair on my plate, so just lost my appetite right then. They weren't even willing to discuss anything with us as far as set-up and meal went-their comment "we did the best we could". Wait staff during the reception was awesome though and those girls earned every penny we had to pay them. Bottom line-you will pay through the nose for a wedding reception that is nothing like you want it to be and the food will be virtually inedible. read more

The food was good but the place is slightly cramped and by the time we left there was a huge line waiting. I'd go back if I was in the area, but wouldn't make a trip especially for that. I had the Irish eggs Benedict and it was really good... My girlfriend had the French toast (add crunch for a dollar which was just Frosted Flakes) and she was not thrilled with hers, so I lost half my delicious meal in the process read more

Went here for Sunday breakfast on August 2, 2015. Cappuccino was ok, not great but our omelette arrived smothered in cheese which we didn't order so they took it back and rushed a replacement out and it was totally raw inside. We'd received a Groupon gift certificate for them and had brunch there today. We went online and reviewed the menue, which was standard breakfast items. Called ahead to get our names on the seating list. Good idea, the wait was at 20 minutes when we arrived. Got seated pretty quickly but next to the kitchen. Ordered a Cafe Mocha, came quickly and was pretty good. Our food order came pretty quickly as well considering the crowd. Got a lot of food for the price but it was pretty average tasting and bland, not well seasoned at all. I'll give thm a thumbs up on the service and quantity of the food, but the quality is what's keeping me from coming back. read more

First visit to La Peep was good so we decided to go back. I've never eaten Eggs Benedict so I decided to try it. BIG mistake. I was told hollandaise sauce is supposed to be lemon yellow and it's served over poached eggs with thin sliced ham or canadian bacon. My order came out with a huge piece of ham. The sauce was brown and tasted like chicken gravy made from instant pkg. It was so disgusting I couldn't stand to look at it let alone smell it. The waitress took our plates and never commented on the fact that my mine was barely touched. I later saw on a TV cooking show a chef explain that the color of the sauce meant it was from an instant package mix. We will not be back and unfortunately there aren't a lot of good breakfast places that serve all day. read more

Mom and I went here for brunch on a Tuesday. Mom ordered the Hen Pen (I think) with turkey sausage and "very soft" scrambled eggs. I got the turtle mocha and Salmon & Avocado wrap with waffle fries. Lisa our server was very knowledgable and on top of things. My wrap was so delicious; the only thing being that the feta was so unevenly distributed, I only tasted it in one big clump in one of the wrap halves! Also, the mocha she brought out wasn't the one in the "turtle mocha" description; I didn't taste the caramel and it was missing the crumbled walnuts. Mom's dish was great...until she got to the eggs. They were so visibly NOT soft scrambled, I was kind of disappointed Lisa even brought them out. She offered to take them back, but mom's been watching those "bad restaurant" shows and she was hungry so they just stayed on the plate and, predictably, weren't eaten. It was mom's second time coming there, and the first time far out-shined this one, just on the basis of getting her eggs wrong this time. read more

I've been here twice now. I don't remember what I had the first time, but I did have the chicken pesto panini this time. It was ok. I had the salad for the side with the balsamic vinaigrette dressing. This is probably the worst dressing I've had. It's water-based & just terrible. This rating is for poor customer service. I come to Le Peep about twice a week, not because it's my preference but because the selection is limited in the Arboretum for breakfast. This morning I call in my order as I always do and walk over to pick it up. A woman (I can only assume is the owner/ manager) brings it out and says to me, "the girls here told me you guys don't give them a discount." I looked at her a bit confused...I was just there to pick up my breakfast. She then went on about how they offer discounts to ppl that offer her employees a discount. (didn't ask for a discount) I told her I work for a franchise and that we also offer our guest tons of ways to save. She then thought it was necessary to tell me the franchise I work for (not own) is pretty big. (Awkward silence) On my way out she told me to have a good day, and I told her to have a better one. Very inappropriate and way too early for the nonsense....I guess Manhattan will get all of my money now. read more

VERY BAD EXPERIENCE. My husband and I ate brunch at Le Peep in Charlotte today, 12/13/10. It was our first and last visit. Online there was a nice menu and what looked like an upscale restaurant. I purchased a Groupon certificate so that we at there even though the floors were dirty, many table cloths were ripped, and it was cold. The first thing to arrive was my cappuccino. I looked around for cinnamon, as there was none served with the drink or on the table, I had to walk up to the cashier to obtain some. Eventually my husband's order arrived, minus the avocado that was a feature of the omelet. Had he been notified upon ordering or shortly thereafter that there was NO avocado available, he would have ordered something different. I also had a problem with my crepe. The crepes were only room temperature as were the potatoes. I did not send them back, because it had taken a long time to arrive at our table, and I wasn't going to have my husband wait for me to receive my order and sit there while I ate it with nothing in front of him. The bacon was of poor quality. Prior to leaving, my husband used the men's room and the stall closure was broken, hanging down, unusable. That was something anyone who cares for the restroom would have seen. It was all extremely disappointing, and I would never eat there again, and I certainly would not recommend it to anyone. Love this place and yea, we are foodies, eating in a non foodie world here. We will try anything, love fancy, love holes in the wall, and like local, local local. Yea, this place isn't anything special on the fancy side or foodie side nor is it a hole in the wall. Just your average brunch/lunch place in atmosphere and surroundings. Locally franchised. HOWEVER, having tried EVERY, and I swear, EVERY brunch spot in South Charlotte, from the Terrace Cafe's of the world, to Skillet's (now Broken Egg), to New South (next door to Le Peep), to Vine American Kitchen, 131 Main, Flying Biscuit, Big View (YUCK!) etc. etc. etc. this one actually has the highest rating for us next to Terrace Cafe. The skillets are yummo, our eggs are always perfectly cooked as ordered, the kids menu sufficient and pleasing with coloring and games to boot, and the service is ALWAYS good. They are consistent, have a very large and diverse menu, something for everyone. The crab cake benedict is a tad heavy on the breadcrumbs and less on the crab side but hey, this isn't your froo froo brunch spot, so have realistic expectations when you go and order accordingly. My other half got the corned beef hash skillet on his first visit here with us and blurted out "FINALLY"! He had finally found a spot in South Charlotte with the salty NJ diner type hash he had been seeking, not fried potatoes some places actually call "hash". This is a favorite spot of ours, make it one of yours too! read more
