I had heard of this restaurant, but I didnt have the chance to try it until I came to Irving. Even on a Saturday morning we didnt have to wait long to be seated. That's not to say that the place wasnt busy because it was! Our server was very patient and courteous and brought out the drinks right away. Now, even though I was on vacation I still wanted to find some healthy options and trust me when I say that Le Peep has some good ones (and at a great price). I had the wheat french toast served with fruit, egg whites, and sausage. Man, I wanted to eat that french toast forever. I've been coming to Le Peep for years. I love the atmosphere and size, you should get hear early on Saturday / Sunday to minimize wait time. The food is tasty. Coffee is hot. Juice is cold. Note: their orange juice if freshly squeezed. Wait staff is great, friendly with people skills (chatty and smiles). Manager came over to check on us. With them being in that location for over 20yrs. Love Peep! It was an old stomping ground for many of us. Today, I visited for brunch and was surprised at the level of service I received. I was there for about 90 min with a friend, and never did the server ask if we needed refills on our coffee......(Am I wrong to assume that there are still refills on coffee?) I would much rather pay a compliment than to complain. Coffee was $3.25 don't mind the price, but the service was poor! I look forward to receiving better service next time. read more

Great service with a pretty fast turnaround. I met up with a friend here for lunch, and the staff here were really nice. They serve breakfast all day and have a small selection of lunch items. I ordered the Cajun chicken sandwich with no bun, and the spices were on point! I ordered the baked potato soup as a side, and it was really good. My friend ordered the philly, and she said it was really good. The restaurant does close at 2pm though, I went about 1, and they were not busy at all. What a hotbed of disorganized service/ customer service. This place needs to play the game diner dash, cause it's failing in so many ways. Huge line waiting for tables, 1/3 of tables empty with crowds if potential diners waiting. Cashier/ hostess with another girl seating people, taking care of outgoing orders. I only saw one bus lady who was inefficiently clearing tables without a basin but removing cups/ dishes a few at a time. So short staffed not even funny. Food was so so. Not sure why there's a crowd here for mediocre food. Maybe cause it's the only game in town? Guests who arrived after us were seated first. When asked, hostess/ cashier person said they called in their names. I asked oh, you take reservations? To which she said, "no, but you can put your name on the list... hmmm". From the second you walk in you are greeted by genuinely sweet hosts. Served by the most attentive and conversational waiters. And you will always leave incredibly happy and full to the brim. There's a light/healthy menu that may attract some people. I got the Desperado which was a skillet of potatoes, tomatoes, ground meat, and egg on top. So-so. Husband got an omelet and I honestly thought it was the most anorexic looking omelet I've ever seen. The waitstaff kept speaking to us in really high & exaggerated voices. Wow, what a let-down. I have been coming to this location of Le Peep for lunch for the past 12 years - I used to work in a nearby building so my coworkers and I were frequent patrons. The service WAS impeccable and the food was delicious. The food is still excellent - but the service is atrocious. Our server was very friendly and polite but was clearly over-tabled for the lunch rush on a Friday. It took almost 10 minutes for him to acknowledge us and take our drink order - but for some reason he was not allowed to take our food order at the same time (I heard him tell two other tables the same thing). 10 minutes later, we finally got to order our food. When the food did come out, it was delicious and hot - but had I been on a lunch hour from an office, I wouldn't have made it back to work in time. Twice I have visited and twice I have enjoyed myself. The giant carafe of fresh coffee at my table guarantees life won't be that bad. Oh and a carafe of water? Perfect!!!! My pancake was fluffy. I went here a few times for brunch because it's nearby my home and I had a couple of Groupons, which allowed me to try multiple things on different visits. I think overall the food is okay, it's probably really crowded on Sundays because there's not many other brunch places around the Irving area, that I know of... or maybe people really do love this place. I do like their Nutella crepes though, but it's NUTELLA. VERY hard to screw that one up. So delicious though. Also, their Pandhandled Desperado skillet was good. It was a little too salty. They have salsa on there, which is kind of a weird combination, in my opinion, so I asked them to leave that out. They actually messed up my order and put it in there, and I gave it a try, but yeah.. no. It was weird. As much as I hate to waste food, I had to have them send out another one. So wasteful, but I couldn't eat it. I love pancakes, so I ordered it here once with a side of sausage links. They have one called the "plain pancakes" and as the name suggests, it really was plain. Plain and dry. It was supposed to be their signature batter, too. They leave water pitchers on each table with a couple of glasses so you can pour it yourself. They leave slices of lemon in there for what seems like long periods of time because it starts to have that bitter lemon taste to it from the lemon peel... Probably to hide taste of unfiltered water. Gross. I probably won't be back here anytime soon as there are plenty of brunch places in Dallas to try, many of which are much better than Le Peep. read more
