    Steak and frites

Oh my goodness, this is just the cutest spot ever and I think my favorite spot on the westside for an elevated home cooked meal vibe. The restaurant looks like it could've been someone's home and the owner, Mimi, was actually sitting at the front of the restaurant chatting with anyone that stopped in. Beautifully decorated. The food was very well cooked. Nothing was over the top and you could actually taste all of the ingredients. My favorites were the onion soup, steak and frites and the creme brulee. The sauce that the steak came in was so tasty that I ended up using it as dip for my fries. We also ordered the mushroom salad, which came with a very fresh and tasty dressing, and the steamed mussels which were also very tasty. No matter how full you get, you MUST get the creme brulee. It's small but so good that I wished I had gotten my own.

What a nice and cozy restaurant. The kitchen is nestled kind of in the middle of the restaurant which makes room for sitting areas kind of around the perimeter of the room. My group say I'm the back and I liked it for it's more secluded feel. The food overall was really good, except for the shrimp in the bouillabaisse which was pretty overcooked. But the muscles, flavor, temperature were all spot on. The other dish we tried was the fish and it was perfectly cooked with a pleasant sauce and carrots. The mashed potatoes were a little boring but overall a great dish. The dessert we had the flourless chocolate cake and it was so good! I think it would pair well with ice cream but that's not what it comes with. I think it is too much to eat for one person since it's so rich. Better as a sharable dish otherwise you will be taking some home to enjoy later. Definitely would come back again ready for more!

I was invited to brunch at this charming petit bistro & the experience was perfect from start to finish. the gentleman who confirmed our reservation was so friendly & gave me the option of patio or inside dining. we selected an inside table to experience the full french ambiance & decor. we were greeted by mimi herself as we entered. what a treat! the menu was a mixture of breakfast & lunch options. I ordered the traditional ham & cheese crêpes & couldn't have been happier. my guests both opted for the quiche lorraine. both came with a simple, refreshing salad. we shared a basket of warm & crispy pomme frites along with glasses of the most heavenly mint lemonade. the service was impeccable & we enjoyed every minute at chez mimi. rest assured, this is my new favorite brunch spot. merci beaucoup, mimi!!

Went to this restaurant for date night because we both hadn't eaten French cuisine in a hot minute. Super charming spot! If the weather were warmer, we would have opted for the outdoor seating, which was lit up nicely and very welcoming. Inside was very cozy. Walking in, we were immediately greeted by the staff. The staff were all fantastic from the beginning to the end of dinner. Very attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. We ordered the onion soup, escargots, frog legs, steak au poivre, and the sanddabs meunière. Honestly, they were all tasty! I especially liked their mashed potatoes. My favorites out of the dishes were the appetizers - the onion soup, escargots, and frog legs. No complaints about the food. This restaurant has more of a comfort food vibe, which I prefer. By the end of our meal, we were stuffed!!! We originally ordered another special, but the waiter already knew that we would be too full based on our current order and warned us. For dessert, we went for some coffee with their strawberry shortcake, which was the perfect end to our meal. Will definitely visit this restaurant again to try some of their other dishes.

This place is so special! Incredible food, great service, and it's so cozy. We come here every week! Wish it was open during week for lunch.

This is not just a restraunt or place to eat, this place has a beautiful soul, history and amazing commitment of the owner who has almost 50 years of experience of delivering culture and recipe thru food, service, love and atmosphere straight to your brains reward system :) To put it simple, one of the best restraunt in LA!

Ask the Community - Le Petit Chez Mimi

    Is it kid friendly?

Yes, but not realistic if you have a screaming baby or brat!

How big is a portion of mussels?

    It's a generous serving.

Do they allow dogs? We have a small terrier looking for a French restaurant outdoor table for 3 plus small dog?

I don't recall seeing any but the outside patio might work. And Mimi is French and you know how much the French love their dogs. I would call and ask.

What's the dress code? Wluld jeans be too casual for this restaurant?

Not at all. We went for dinner last night and we were wearing jeans. As were two other tables. There was a table of older ladies and gentlemen that dressed up a little, but everyone else was more casually dressed.

Do they have a Corkage fee?

Yes...Le Petit Chez Mimi has a corkage fee

Today, I got to join the fun and enjoy a lovely dinner at Massillia! Surprised the relatives for their 5:30 reservation. I was supposed to stay for just a drink, but I was having such a great time, I had to crash the entire dinner! 5:30 on a Friday night was the perfect time. It was chill and quiet. The restaurant itself is super relaxing and had a nice ambiance. To start, I asked the waitress to bring me a fruity cocktail and what she handed me was delicious. I totally forgot to snag the name, but it was refreshing and yummy. For food, my aunts ordered EVERYTHING! we are a vegetable loving family and definitely got lots of yum yum that reflected that: ratatouille, salad, mushrooms, calamari, mashed potatoes, broccoli, salmon flatbread, and so much more. Everything was so flavorful! I really enjoyed every dish we got! If I had to choose some absolute favorites it would be the salad and the ratatouille! Both were incredible ( along with everything else). Finished the meal off with the pear dessert and a glass of port. Yummy! Great meal with family! From the moment we arrived, the experience exceeded our expectations. The food was simply incredible. We decided to order some of their most popular dishes and shared the beef tartare, French onion soup, burger, grilled cabbage, and somehow still managed to save room for all three desserts. Every single dish was memorable, and it's easy to see why this place has earned such a great reputation. The cocktail program deserves its own mention. Each drink is crafted with so much creativity and attention to detail that you really can't go wrong, no matter what you order. A special shoutout to our server, Lauren, who did an outstanding job throughout the evening. She checked in frequently, made excellent recommendations, and genuinely cared that we had an exceptional dining experience. One thing that really stood out was the staff. Every employee we interacted with had a smile on their face and seemed to genuinely enjoy what they do. It's refreshing to see a team that's so proud to work where they do, and that positive energy made the entire evening even more enjoyable. We'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu. One helpful tip from the hostess: if you're hoping to try their famous pressed duck, be sure to reserve it in advance, as it requires prior notice. Highly recommend!

At the price point the average plate sits at here, I was expecting to really fall in love (and we also expected bigger portions of basically everything than we got, too). The broccoli soup, in particular, felt like a side portion, but cost like 16 dollars, which didn't feel anywhere near worth it. My wife felt the same way about the salmon.
