What can I say - This place is amazing! Even though it just recently opened, the quality and taste of the food was a home run day one! Everything is delicious. The chocolate croissant is the best around, hands down. The lemon strawberry cake is to die for. And the sourdough bread is without a doubt the best I have ever tasted. Mic drop!. Chef Chris has turned his many years of consitently superior baking into a beautiful shop that makes his offerings readily available. And his team is wonderful. Kinda sub-par. Been here twice to give it a chance. Thinking maybe first time was a one off. Nope. Won't be back. Don't like the texture of the croissants at all. Not flaky. Too dense. Way better at Leviathan or Amelia's in Indy. The Kouign-amann was fine it gets the two stars. The crème brûlée pastry was very cold. And the guy at the counter,(owner?) only says "no". Do you have butter for croissant? No. Do you have jam for croissant? No. Can we buy a single English Muffin? No. Can you warm my ice cold pastry? No. Seems put out being there. Bummer. I love French pastries. I'll just keep driving to Indy. Was in there about a month ago first three NOs and last week most recent No. See response below for the owners real attitude. I stopped by Indie Coffee Roasters new location and saw this bakery inside. All of the items looked tasty, but I only got a scone. It was lemon blueberry. The lemon flavor was strong and delicious. The scone was a bit dry, but still quite tasty. I look forward to trying more of their desserts. I believe they do custom cakes as well. read more

My husband and I have been here a couple of times and have loved everything we had: from savory items like the breakfast sandwich and croissants to sweets like cake, cookies, and macarons. You can see Chris and his team making everything from scratch right in the kitchen and they are all always so eager to help. The whole space has a great vibe because you can get food here, then grab a coffee at Indie Coffee Roasters, and hang out in the common areas. It's always been clean, too. read more

This place is addicting!!! I have been four times already and I discover a new favorite every time. This morning I decided grab a dozen pastries to share at the office and the woman at the counter was so friendly and helpful. I had the breakfast sandwich for myself and you can tell it was made with love and care. The hot dad working there is also easy on the eyes. Everything is so delicious and beautiful. The breads are next on my list to try. Do yourself a favor and stop in. What a perfect addition to the Indy food scene. read more

Who doesn't love a bakery, but on top of that it's a really GOOD bakery, paired with a coffee shop in a new, cool building! They have a counter of dozens of beautiful pastries and breads. I went for sourdough bread, but I had a few questions first. A very nice and informed employee assured me that they "feed the sourdough starter" every night and patiently explained the process to me. I appreciated that information and the time she took to talk to me. The loaf is delicious of course. I also got a brownie and bag of english muffins. Boy were the english muffins amazing--super soft and flavorful. They would be a great gift to someone recuperating at home with a jar of jam or honey, or to a new mom, or for visiting company, or to yourself!! I've been putting an omelet on them at home each morning and they are really incredible. This would be a great place to meet a friend and have a croissant or pastry. I saw an article about Le Petit Gateau in 'Absolute Living' magazine, & saw pictures of wedding cakes they make-- they are beautiful!! They should put some of these pictures on the wall of their bakery. read more

This is a great, independent bakery serving high-quality French inspired baked goods. I particularly enjoyed the chocolate raspberry brownie and the ham and cheese croissant. The staff was friendly and the product very good! A must visit if in the Carmel, IN area! read more
