Don't close the book on French dining in the suburbs. In fact, fling it wide open. Le Petit Prince is a small bistro that quietly opened last year and has remained quiet on Yelp, with just 30 reviews preceding this. I tried to go on a Monday but realized that they were closed. Eventually, I made it in on a Wednesday. The Salmon Carpaccio ($16.00) is suitable for either an app or a light lunch. Although the butter could be a substitute for a more typical olive oil and there is lemon, it's really more of a deconstructed salmon toast. The smoked salmon, onion, capers, and dill are all typical of such a dish, and the combination is delicious. I also enjoyed the side salad, with fresh greens and tomato and a creamy vinaigrette. The Welsh Rarebit ($14.00) is an interpretation of a British dish. Admittedly, I've never had this before, so the context I'd place this in is Croque Madame with a twist. The yolk was runny enough and the bread and ham were nice. Cheddar and mustard are the variables, and both are compatible with ham and with each other. The same side salad shows up here. After seeing the dessert menu, I figured that I should pick one. I ended up with the Dame Blanche ($9.00), which initially appears to be just some sundae. However, the meringue pieces blended into the dessert add a fun and sweet crunchy element. The vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup are fine, while the whipped cream is pedestrian premade stuff. I do wish that I could've had more of the browned, airier meringue piece used as the proverbial cherry on top. That's an even more enjoyable texture to me. The Iced Tea ($3.90) is pretty smooth and tolerable, while the Iced Coffee ($3.90) was too dilute. I'm talking as bland as cheap casino iced coffee, which is the main factor in which way I'm veering on a 4.5-ish rating. They didn't offer water either, although my coffee was close enough to water anyway. I do want to add some more positives, mainly that the service was friendly and attentive, and the music is great if you're into somewhat older/classic French tunes. I will likely return sooner than later to Le Petit Prince to flip through all the pages, so to speak. There's a whole lot more on the menu which I'd love to try. That said, my first impression is it's a fun read, but there's still some room for proofreading. read more

This is an awesome Family-owned restaurant; both husband & wife are from France. Numerous customers who came in also spoke French. In the background, soft French music played. The Croque-Madame was super delicious & the runny egg on top was perfect! The bachamel sauce was amazing! As for the Le Chevre sandwich, the baguette bread was great. Came in for lunch and wow, what a cute and unique experience! I loved the French vibe all around me. Great French food & friendly service! I will return and try their other dishes. I just don't get it... At the time of my review there was 137 reviews and the score was 4.9 out of 5 stars. We pulled up to a basically empty parking lot and walked in to a completely empty restaurant on a Sunday morning at 9:30am. Now granted they are a smaller place with half dozen tables or so and a couple small ones outside to enjoy some coffee but still on a Sunday there should've been a line out the door for this place. Now, needless to say it was my first time here, somebody in our group who had never been here either suggested we give it a try, and I'm glad he did. I had a wonderfully made vanilla latte and the other two in my group had French vanilla cappuccinos that had incredibly beautiful presentations. So don't let this place scare you if you're not a fan of crêpes they do have other things on the menu, but I gotta tell you the crêpe I had was phenomenal. I opted for the sliced strawberries and fresh whipped cream with no sauce drizzle so I could get a good taste of the crêpe itself. Every bite was magnificent a well-made crêpe. The other two in my group got French toast and a crepe with egg and ham that also had a beautiful presentation. So I mentioned about the review status, but I will say it again. I just don't get it... the food here was very very good and the coffees were beautifully served and very tasty and no one else in the place. If you are in the area, definitely give them a try. Everybody in my group agreed that we would come back again sooner rather than later. As we were walking out, finally, another couple was walking in. Took my cousin and her family for a Sunday brunch. We were all excited looking at the menu and at a reasonable price for a French bistro. There were a few people when we got there and were seated right away for a party of 5 plus a toddler. The server came over right away for drink orders and appetizer. We ordered escargot, onion soup, the Eiffel tower salad which has smoked salmon, strawberries, walnuts, sliced apples, tomatoes and greens. Also an egg crepe for the toddler. The French burger for my nephew. Chicken cordon bleu for the other nephew. Seafood stew and croque monsieour was shared, The escargot was as expected garlicky and green, tho could have asked for more bread to dip the excess sauce. We probably got 1'piece of bread each. The onion soup was lacking the richness I was hoping for. The salad was fresh with just the right amount of dressing. Both the French burger and chicken cordon bleu were a disappointment for the boys. Although it was stated on the menu, potato pancakes which sandwiched the burger didn't go well as far as burger goes. Also it came as shredded beef as compared to typical ground beef. The chicken cordon bleu was also shredded chicken instead of a whole piece of chicken breast and came with mashed potato which was lacking some creaminess. Taste wise it was better than the burger. The toddler enjoyed his egg crepe. The seafood stew was flavorful tho a bit sparse on seafood. There were 2 pieces of salmon, 1 scallop, 1 shrimp and 1 calamari. That's why the prices are reasonable! You get what you paid for. The place could use some coziness instead of feeling like a cafeteria. It is pretty clean and bright. Diane and I dined here recently for the first time, and were largely impressed with the dinner service that greeted us. This unassuming French bistro run by a husband and wife team delivered high quality fare in a cozy, inviting environment. A small order of French Cheeses with Onion Chutney and honey and walnuts, accompanied by French Baguettes and butter, featured superior Brie and great Goat Cheese. It was hard for me to tear myself away from returning to still more cheese smeared with or without butter onto another baguette. I enjoyed the honey, and the Onion Chutney was okay, but one must acquire a taste for it. The Eggs Mayo appetizer was quite tasty if a bit unusual. The yolks of hard boiled egg halves were left intact rather than deviled, and the edible streaks crossing them on top had more of a mustardy taste than a traditional mayonnaise flavoring. Six small Escargots swimming in tiny recessed pools of Garlic Butter on a platter were real hot and enjoyable. And a large crock of French Onion Soup was very cheesy, with the added benefits of well-caramelized onions and a nicely deconstructed crouton in the form of a slice of bread. Even Lemon Iced Tea was different from run of the mill Iced Teas, and quite refreshing. Alas, Diane and I were not enamored with the chef's New Recipe for our chosen entree of Chicken Cordon Bleu. Rather than the standard mound of chicken slit open slightly to receive one or more slices of ham and some oozing partially melted cheese, this version contained somewhat mushy and shredded ham and cheese, with the baked cheese resting on top of the entire edifice. Accompanying Roasted Potatoes were very good, and thin Green Beans were outstanding in taste, reminiscent of the finest Haricots Verts. The dessert menu was too good to pass up. So, we ended our meal on very sweet notes: a Puff Apple Pie with cinnamon, crispy puff pastry, Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, and Salted Butter Caramel for Diane; and a Pear Belle Helen Crepe for me with pear, caramel, roasted almond, and whipped cream. It was a heavenly finale. Service was friendly, ubiquitous, and excellent throughout the course of our meal. We will surely return to try other entrees. This place is truly a gem! The service and atmosphere are amazing. The staff makes you feel so welcome. The food is some of the best French food I've ever had. I tried the Escargot, Eggs Mayo, French Onion Soup, Beef Bourguignon , and Chicken Cordon Bleu. Everything was cooked perfectly and was absolutely delicious. Vegas has a variety of cuisines, but it's rare to find a place like this that provides great French food at a more local level. Alex and her husband are from France and only just moved here a year ago! It was much appreciated that they shared more about their culture and their hospitality and food reflects that. The restaurant has decor inspired by travels and language of France. I tried the Queen of France (Bouchée à la Reine) entree and loved it. Savory crepe with cheese, ham and a lovely perfect sunny side up egg. I also ordered two potato pancakes which were good but weren't the star. I was expecting them to be served German style like an idiot. It's small and it's local and the people that run it are lovely. What more could you want? Later hours so I can come for dinner? The ambiance is welcoming, clean, cozy, low key, comfortable and un-pretentious. Don't expect Le Petit Prince to be a French bakery filled with sweet pastries, although they do make fresh crepes there. We regularly drive to Cafe Du Val or La Tropezienne for a larger selection of freshly baked French pastries, but I actually PREFER the menu options at La Petit Prince because they have French dinner entrees like Beef Burgundy and other savory options along with the sweets. My mom and I arrived late in the afternoon around 5pm, and we were the only customers in the restaurant. They still had a few croissants and pain au chocolat behind the glass, and they were playing some chill French music, so we decided to stay and order something. I ordered Lasagne (I know, it's not French but I love lasagna so I decided to try it out. The filling isn't ground beef like you might expect from an Italian spot. Instead, the meat was shredded, which was different. I liked it! Not bad for $12, as it also came with a simple salad with fresh lettuce and a really nice light Italian salad dressing. My mom ordered the Croque Monsieur, and she liked it too. I can't really comment because I didn't try it. We met the owner, who was really nice and provided really good service while we were there. It was nice talking to him. Apparently the restaurant is only 4 weeks old, and he moved to Vegas with his family from Luxembourg only months ago!
