First time here and last time. Our server Briana was the best part. She was very nice and pleasant. It was not her fault for what occurred during our visit. We got there at 10:30 and left at nearly noon.. only three people in our party. Put in order and then SEVERAL minutes later we were told they were out of mac n cheese. So we had to reorder. Took forever to get our food. It was so warm inside too. I ordered the East Coast Grilled Cheese. Did not get the onions, no Dijon aoli and definitely not buttery grilled Texas toast. It was so dry and bland. One piece of bacon is absolutely diabolical for a $15 sandwich that wasn't even made correctly. I took two bites and sent it back. Will never return. Do not recommend. Had late breakfast/ lunch with friends at Black Mountain Griddle. It's located in the spot that used to be occupied by Il Chianti restaurant on Horizon Ridge. We went on a Friday, it was not busy at all. The food was good. The service was friendly. Quick for the most part. Ambiance: clean airy diner. I would go back if looking for a quick uncomplicated meal. They do serve dinner a couple of days a week also. The menu says "creamy, rich, and made from scratch," but what I got had a very different texture. The pasta was extreeemely mushy, and the macaroni itself was much larger than the typical elbow macaroni which made the texture even less enjoyable! I love cheese, but this was just... too much. Came back here for the Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich, it's been living rent free in my head. This spot is great for brunch, amazing service and it's always clean! My husband got the banana foster waffle, I took a bite of that and it was super yummy! Nice and clean when you walk in, we were greeted immediately by friendly staff and seated promptly. After a few minutes our server came with water, took our drink order and took our food order. She warned us that "the kitchen is dealing with quite a few orders" and to expect a wait. Odd but ok. We waited 35 minutes for our food to hit the table and we had to ask a different server where it was to receive it because our server was hiding in the kitchen. This would be understandable in a larger restaurant but this is a diner in a strip mall. When it did arrive, my order was partially wrong (I ordered eggs over easy and they arrived scrambled). Our server took away my entire plate to fix the eggs and I got to sit without food while they fixed it. The portions were very small, everything lacked seasoning, our server kinda left us for dead, and everything costs the same as any other restaurant. When you dive into this burger the toasted brioche bun envelopes the meat and cheese (and any other veggies and sauce) and sort of arrives in your mouth ready to deliver something so delicious your stomach is going to thank you. The Chef pairs this delicious sandwich with a garlic aioli that's going to make you see this is how a smash burger is supposed to taste. We finished off our visit with the Concha Ice Cream Sandwich and a piece of NY Style Cheesecake. It was as expected sensational. What makes this place so special? I believe it's the quiet and cozy atmosphere (everyone is chowing down on the delicious food) and of course the dedication this family has to providing a delicious meal using quality ingredients as well as a desire to offer each customer a wonderful dining experience. Our server was Kelani and she was fantastic. We met the owner - on a Sunday afternoon working in the trenches with his team.
