giving two stars is actually nice on my part because our waitress was rude and tossed our food onto the table. She asked us in annoyed voice if we needed anything else then dipped. The food was hardly anything good either since they burned my mom's potatoes and had no flavor besides char. I ordered some French toast which was so lack luster for a place that had a line out the door. Just simple sandwich bread that you can get at a grocery store. read more

Was greeted right away after being seated and served effectively with my coffee orange juice and water. The ambiance is a time capsule that makes you feel back in the time of the little coffee shop days of olden days. Had the Chilli cheese omelette and home fries. Along with the biscuit and gravy. I went in on a Friday morning around 10am. It wasn't busy got seated by a young Hispanic lady. I was waiting for another party who wanted me to order for them which I did. When she brought the toast it was burnt on the outside burnt black you can smell the burn. I let her know I would need a new toast because it was burnt. She tells the cook in Spanish she says it's burnt. It was only obvious the toast was burnt. Our food comes out with the new toast it was good. The waitress never asks the other party if she wanted anything to drink or did she even come back to check on us. She was just very rude after the burnt toast situation. I ask to speak to the manager and her attitude was just as bad. I see why the young lady can have that attitude. I don't think I will be going back to Leroy's. I can't support a business who cares less how their employees treat their customers. read more

Please improve your customer service. It was a Wednesday morning, not busy at all. I wanted to sit with my newborn outside away from people. The girl told me that section was closed and that we should sit inside. I told her, no. The purpose was to sit AWAY from others. She said "could sit outside by these guests" She clearly missed the mark. Was it that hard to have one person to sit outside away from others with their baby? I called the restaurant to only be faced by another apathetic remark by the manager. "Sorry you feel that way". Seriously? Very cold and rude. We've been coming here for YEARS with my family. Cozy retro diner that's great for breakfast- especially their savory dishes. They're famous for their gigantic breakfast burritos - definitely can feed two imo and they're pretty darn good. My fave is their Greek omelette- I don't know what kind of feta they use but it's so so good! I'm not a huge fan of their sweet selections though- their French toast was very bland and maple syrup is a tad runny. This last time I got the French toast with the strawberry compote and whip cream topping and I have to say it's definitely better without all that. Their savory breakfast choices are way better than the sweet - And I like that you can get tater tots instead of hash browns lol! Portions are generous, prices are on par with other diners in the area, and coffee is decent with free refills. They also have some cheeky, fun signs all over the walls and counter seats too. And deep fried Twinkie's for dessert - I haven't tried it yet but I've never seen that anywhere else in the US haha! Their parking lot is pretty small but there's a little street parking around. Food was horrible. This place is absolutely packed of people all the time and food is diabolocally horrible. Sausage was undercooked and cold as if it was microwaved and pulled out ahead of time. Steak was bland and tasteless. I have no idea why it's so overhyped. We paid with cash at the register and the cashier purposely gave us change in big bills only so that we had no other choice but to tip big. My godsister and I had a very disappointing breakfast experience today due to the poor service from our server, Mari. While my godsister was taking a moment to decide on her side orders, Mari abruptly and rudely cut us off and stated she would come back later if we weren't ready. When asked to be more patient, she became openly hostile, complaining about us to a coworker and completely neglecting our table for the rest of the meal (including skipping us for coffee refills). As a longtime customer who has always enjoyed and recommended LeRoy's, this level of service is incredibly frustrating. Love that they have patio seating and heaters for cold winter days. Super dog friendly only for patio seating, which is great the inside is a bit cramp anyways. We always get breakfast plates plus their club sandwich. Not sure if this matters but we noticed if you go towards closing time they give more food especially tater tots. Also the cottage fries is delicious with their homemade salsa! Service is always wonderful. I would say their waffles aren't as good... it's a bit soggy and dense. They do charge for little extras . Like cheese, even the onions. The lemonade is more expensive than the tea. It's not fresh squeezed . So don't know why. Meeting our freshly minted USC graduate oldest son Brandon for Saturday brunch in tree-lined Monrovia, it turned out that the juice wasn't worth the squeeze. You see- We'd commenced at Le Roy's rival, The Peach Cafe, but when the latter stipulated a "one hour, twenty minute wait" for our party of three, we hopped in our car and made the brief jaunt over to Le Roy's. Le Roy's features a delightful armada of Americana fueled curio. Roosters crowing about morning coffee? Cagey warnings about having it your way, so long as it's the chef's way? Pithy reminders of the Eisenhower era, down to the crimson, buttery soft booths? Check, check and check. We were seated after a twenty minute wait, nothing to get riled up about considering it was 11am on a crisp January morning with sapphire blue skies. The wifey ordered a vegan omelet and I opted for Le Roy's Pancake Combo special, featuring a trio of saucer-sized 'cakes with a pair of eggs, over hard and a trio of bacon spears. Our son, displaying NONE of the so-called elan that his USC diploma must've conferred, placed an order that any partisan of Raising Canes would've applauded: Chicken fingers, mashed potatoes and fruit salad. The food was good but not necessarily remarkable. The service was super swift. The coffee was excellent. Pro tip: Try, if you can, to avoid the bathrooms. Le Roy's has their duo of restrooms positioned in the outdoor dining area that abuts the main dining room. Though my wife reported her restroom as clean, MINE smelled worse than a porta-potty at the Overeaters Anonymous convention, downright squalid. read more

I'd you have kids and need a high chair, it will be a longer wait because the place is small and only certain tables can use the high chair due to walking space.... if your child can use a booster or without, it'll be faster. Came back to try their pancake combos for 3 reasons: 1 - I missed out on it last time we were here, 2 - the large portions for a great price, 3 - no wait time (if sitting outside). We both ordered the pancake combos with side orders of bacon, country potatoes, and hash browns. The pancakes are so fluffy and scrambled eggs were made just right. The bacon and country potatoes were good, but the hash browns wasn't as tasty as expected. Superb service, servers came by to greet us and take our orders rapidly, and food arrived so quick that we didn't have to turn into hangry patrons (lol). We were very satisfied with our meal and extremely full from the big portions. Definitely got our moneys worth here. Their food really match their motto, "A meal fit for a king"! Parking is very limited since the lot is tiny. Just be patient and you will find a spot or aim for street parking. They have two all-gender restrooms and it's individual rooms not stalls. We enjoyed sitting outdoor than inside. Last time we sat inside, it felt cramped in since the restaurant is a bit small. Today we sat outside and it feel so much better, especially with the nice weather. Will definitely head back to try their other menu options. read more

My best go to for breakfast, brunch or diner type lunch. Super friendly service in a fun old cottage type setting always decorated per the season. Great breakfast and lunch entrees with generous portions at Great prices! Small outdoor patio in the back. The managers and servers are super nice here that it transports you back in time of what good hospitable service should still be like. Always busy so plan to wait a bit. Le Roy's wins best diner in town in my opinion. I thought the winner was Chef's but Le Roy's got that thing. It's the atmosphere, they got it down right, they got Elvis on the wall, comfortable lived in booths. The kind of place you know you're going to get like 7 coffee refills and be called "hon". Everything tastes like it was smothered in butter. At least I hope it's butter and not margarine... it's probably margarine.. they have random options like you can just add chili to your omelette.. the chilis good too.. Another place that you shouldn't go to unless you're about to move someone's 3 story house or chop down 10 trees in the forest. Large outdoor seating is fantastic. They have an extensive menu, but they also put their specials on the blackboard. I picked Henry Omelet which was delicious with mushrooms, onions and minced beef. The food is good till it gives you liquid fire coming out your ass for simply eating waffles and eggs (nothing else but that, no sauces except maple syrup). I think I got food poisoning. I've been trying to dine here for twenty years, but the crowds were always too big and COVID did not help matters. Today, we were able to walk right in and get a booth, which surprised the wife and me. I guess Labor Day had thinned the crowds down, but the food was marvelous, just as I dreamed. My favorite menu item is grits, which I have enjoyed when traveling the southeast and enjoy a lot of butter and pepper with grits. As for service and hospitality, the wait staff are right out of the sixties, with a lot of pleasantries and quick servings coming in piping hot. Breakfast entrees includes a choice of: Biscuits and Gravy, Toast, or one Pancake... the Biscuits and Gravy were yummy! HASH BROWNS here are not great imo. Mushy. Instead go with the tater tots or home fried potatoes - those look so much more appetizing. Service is friendly and parking available in their private lot. It was just okay and the home fries terrible (overcooked & way too many Bell peppers and onions), chicken fried steak itself nothing to rave about kinda small. The place has a homely feel kinda country old skool vibe to it. Waitresses are always great here and service excellent. Good place to visit, but not for your regular spot. The place gets 5star all day from me. BUT ! Costumers not the staff are strange least to say. To give you a background information I am a proud American who was not born here but grew up here. I am in My 40s . EVERYTIME we walk in ( we=party of 4 different ethnic backgrounds) most of their costumers who are in their 80s stopped eating or even talking and stare at us. First I thought that was my imagination but after trying to bring different co workers to this place that all got the same vibe, so before you accuse me of something keep that in your mind . FOOD , is amazing it is a real American dish. Not the type that will raise your blood pressure but the one that is delicious and classic American at same time difficult to achieve both at same time. Their healthy choices are good too but I prefer classics better. Their chili is majestic it really feels as if a cowboy made it on Dutch oven while he was traveling from Texas to California and stopped the night nearby Grand Canyon for dinner. Try it and remember this line please.. Interior is great . Decoration is awesome and they are ready for saint Patrick's day. Recommended: Pancakes: fluffy and light Greek Omelette: so extremely generous with the feta cheese; fluffy and creamy cheesy omelette Cottage Fries: thin sliced potatoes (reminds me of chips), eating guilt-free - dip in ketchup top with the extra feta cheese (omg - it was so good- excuse mine weird food combination) They didn't had grapefruit juice, so I option for plain hot water. I'm a picky water type of person and the water is good. Lol none of that tap mineral taste and no odd smell. Decent parking lot, maybe 15 ish spaces.
