Salesman Les Hanig was very helpful in selecting carpet for our stairway; he was knowledgeable about issues surrounding patterned carpet and very responsive to my several requests before ordering. His quote was well below that of another dealer that proposed using 50% more carpet for the job. The best part was watching their installer, Luis, apply decades of craftsmanship when installing the carpet. He took the time to do it as we wanted, without causing any damage or scuffing the walls, and the finished installation could not look better. Leader installed engineered wood flooring at our home and did a superb job of it --- 6 or 7 years ago. A month ago, I contacted Leader and asked for help in pulling our dishwasher out as it was hanging on the edge of the wood floor. Surprisingly, Dan Zartner who sold us the flooring was still there and took the time to chat with me, and provide some suggestions. The suggestions did not work (because I didn't know what I was doing, but I would not admit that in public) and I called him again. He offered to come to my home after hours and help me. He did show up at the agreed time, he brought a thin piece of plywood to protect the flooring as we dragged the dishwasher out, stayed to look at a few dog-induced damage. Having just installed hardwood floors throughout my house, I'm so pleased with them and the way they were installed that I'm taking time out from getting things back in their places to write this review. Dan came out to my home several times over a few months to guide me in my decision to find the right wood floors for my home. He is very experienced and honed in on what I wanted right away. Then he measured for an estimate and brought me a sample of the wood. When it came to installation, I was blown away by the terrific crew that were here for almost two weeks. First prepping my slab to be sure that it is totally flat, then the careful installation of each plank assuring that they line up correctly and leave enough space for expansion from weather in the future. They prepped the contents of my home covering what was not put into storage with plastic and taped closed. The final result is amazing and transformed my home immediately! I would love to give this company a great rating. However, I've been trying to give them business for a few months, but they seem to not have time to deal with me. I had water damage from a slab leak and await construction completion all hinging on a sample I ordered from Leader. It's been 2 months that we have been displaced, with promises that keep leading me on. After repeatedly ordering this one sample for vinyl flooring, they cannot get it to me, nor return any communications from me. Perhaps they are choosing to be biased to me because my job is not important enough. Hopefully this won't happen to you. I just had my entire home redone with wood floors at Leader Flooring. It could not have gone better. Their service and customer care was phenomenal! Dan and Fernando were the consummate professionals and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. They showed up on time, worked their butts off, and their clean up at the end of each day was unmatched. They came in under budget, and right on their proposed completion time deadline. My search for a flooring company began with a quote from a competitor, Rich at Conejo Hardwood, who's quote was much higher. Conejo's approach to my job appeared to be a shortcut for them, and was going to cost me more money and take more time. I have a stairway with a banister, and Conejo was recommending that they build around the banister, rather than going through the trouble of removing it. This seemed like a short cut for their convenience, rather than getting down to what really needed to be done for the long term value of my home. I first used Leader many years ago for one of my rentals and Rick Sr. really took care of me. He recommended just the right kind of carpet to hold up for a long-time and it is still in really good shape. They even put a small entry tile space area in so the Front Door area would not wear out so fast. My second time was with Rick Sr. again for another rental and again he recommended and installed the perfect carpet. Third, the above carpet was still almost new looking 10 years later but my tenant stained one of the bedroom's carpet he used as an office so I had it replaced it and again Rick Sr. was great and reasonable. Fourth time in 2020, I finally replaced my personal home's upstairs and staircase carpet with Rick Jr. this time. Rick came over first and measured what I needed then when I found the perfect carpet, he got me samples of the actual carpet roll to confirm the color match. He also gave me a very competitive price for both the carpet, high quality pad and installation. I wanted his installer to also get all the squeaks out of the upstairs flooring and steps. Luis and his grandson Jesus did a great job doing this as well as the carpet installation. Luis is a true professional and paid attention to all the little details. When I decided to put a trim skirt on the inside and outside of my steps, Luis told me the best way my installer should do it. He also was willing to come back to do the steps after the skirt was installed and painted so it looked finished correctly. Luis even did some paint touchup for me. Bottom-line is, Leader has always treated me like they want to earn my current and future business and I have not been disappointed. When I make a decision, it is never the top or the bottom price but the one somewhere in the middle that provides the best value long-term. I will continue to make them my first "go to" flooring supplier because as a long-term investment, they have proven their Added Value and I have no regrets. read more

The team at Leader Flooring is fantastic! We purchased a home built in 1999 with dated, 2 inch. plank, blonde hardwood floors. To take the house out of the 90's, we wanted to give the entire interior a white paint job (used Precision Painting - also great!). Next we wanted to put in 3,400 sq. feet of wide plank, super dark hardwood floors throughout the whole house. Also needed flooring durable enough to stand up to our two dogs. We obtained a few different quotes. One company said to "save us a lot of money" they would sand down the existing floors (essentially turning it into plywood) and lay new flooring on top of it. We asked additional flooring experts if they would proceed the same way and not one of them thought it was a good way to go. All other companies (including Leader) recommended removing old flooring to make sure there were not any moisture/mold issues underneath and leveling was done correctly. We found Leader Flooring on Yelp and decided to visit their showroom. We first met with Dan who listened to our needs and gave us a range of options. Their inventory of choices on both flooring and carpet is staggering. The showroom is beautiful and inviting and makes you want to spend time and explore. It was very helpful to have someone like Dan to navigate us through all the options. He asked good questions, made suggestions and gave us numerous options. We shopped around but ended up returning to Leader where Larry helped answer some more of our questions. Larry was very patient with us and treated us like we were their only customer. We chose an engineered, UV Oiled, 7 1/2 inch Oak floor in a gorgeous dark color. Dan came to our house to quote the job and made the process easy and pleasant. He offered suggestions but never pushed and was very efficient. We found Leader's pricing to be competitive with the marketplace but full disclosure; we didn't pick them on price alone. Their customer service was so professional and when a local competitor even had glowing things to say about Leader, we knew we found the right company. We had a very tight deadline to get floors installed due to coordination of full interior paint job and a firm move in date. We painted first and Leader put up floor to ceiling plastic sheeting all over our walls and kitchen to help us protect our new paint job - which they did beautifully! Jimmy was wonderful! He ran the project from beginning to end, always checking in with us to provide progress updates. We texted him at all hours with questions and he would respond immediately. He helped us choose our baseboard design and kept the entire project moving forward smoothly. The install team was phenomenal! The team was headed up by Fernando and whenever I visited the house for a walk through to check on progress, he was always happy to see me and very professional in addressing any concerns and providing updates. Joe was also great and answered any questions we had regarding project timing. The whole team hustled, worked very hard and even finished ahead of schedule! The work is beautiful and completely transformed our house. Now everyone asks if the house is brand new! Last but definitely not least, I have to mention their great office manager Rose. Rose assisted with coordination of getting our house keys to the install team and assisted throughout the job with facilitating team communications. Rose also helped me preview some preliminary carpet selections. Carpet for our staircase will be our next purchase with Leader Flooring. We are very happy Leader Flooring customers for life! I contracted with Leader to re-carpet the entire house and remove an area of old tile. I had previously contracted with another flooring company in Thousand Oaks (part of a chain of flooring stores) to do the same work, but they backed out of the job saying they couldn't do the old tile removal. Leader sent out a demo crew that did the work in 5 hours and left the house clean and neat for the carpet installation. The carpet installation crew was excellent and they promptly completed our job to our complete satisfaction.
