We wanted to love this place. My husband actually came last year and really enjoyed it. But this year was a different story. Tee boxes have so many chunks missing and are very uneven, much of the grass on the fairway is either dead or missing (causing pockets), and they absolutely drenched the course to the point where there were puddles, mud, and soaking wet greens. It was atrocious. I get there was a heat wave but there seems to be a lack in water drainage that really affected the game.

He is a man with golf knowledge and a lot of integrity. Lessons with Sean have been a very positive experience. He is prompt and very patient in his teaching. Our teenage son decided he would like to try out for the HS golf team at orientation. With no golf experience, Sean took a 14 year old teen and helped him achieve his goal of making the team. I know his success is a direct reflection of the time spent with Sean. His attention to detail and communication are wonderful. He is pretty techy too and sends us video swings of our son so we can see the progress. Overall, a great golf coach and man! While I was waiting to pay, the pro shop was getting lots of calls for tee times and they had to turn them down due being all booked up- makes sense. All of the employees I came in contact with were very nice and upbeat, even the guy that I told I was looking at his nuts when I was looking at the snacks they had for sale. Snacks are limited, chips, nuts, cookies and pre-made sandwiches but they have the Von Ebert Brewery on site where you can get food too. They are beer and claws in the pro shop to keep you loose during 18. IMO, the course was very well maintained. It was obviously pretty wet and muddy but it's March in Portland so to be expected wherever you go. The greens are well taken care of as well as the carts. I paid 46 for 18 with a cart. I really enjoy Glendoveer and will look forward to playing here soon!!

The group in front of us was just standing there. Apparently there was a group in front of them still trying to get on the green. Then the group behind us showed up in number two tee box behind us. After 5 minutes they rolled to us to see what was happening. I told them a 6 hour round was about to happen. I called the pro-shop. The seemed concerned. We waited another 10 minutes. We called it and went back for a rain check. They were surprised to see us. We called. They had no clue what was happening. So what did they do? They charged us for two holes of golf and gave us the prorated amount left over.... Are you kidding me. What planet are these people from. WHO DOES THAT! Complete incompetence. Never again. Beautiful course run by a ship of fools.

So, I came up from San Diego to the Portland area and realized that I was spoiled in SD. With rainy…read moreand cold days, I felt like I needed to find an indoor golf simulator to not lose my gains over the next 3 months. So, golftec was the first place I decided to give a try. Ironically none of their prices are posted on their website and its not posted for a reason. I showed up for a "evaluation" with the "best" instructor at golftec, Chris. Chris is more expensive and it baffled me why the evaluation cost more with Chris? Does the other instructors provide a lesser evaluation? Anywho he is $25 more just to come up with a plan. Roughly 30 mins of video recording and going over your swing. NOW here is the catch. Their goal is to make you invest in one of their packages. Two types, one with practice and one with just lessons. 15 session (30 mins lesson) packages for $1200 or 10 classes/3 months of video practice (90 mins a week) and 1 fitting session for $1200. Seems a bit much. My instructor back in SD who is a golf range top 50 elite master, SoCal PGA player development award, etc. Isn't nearly as expensive as golftec. Also you are swinging on a simulator. The package approach is to get you to sign up a chunk of your money without really having a feel for your instructor or learning on a simulator. Once you sign up, you are stuck. Also the $125 evaluation fee (in my case $150) is a way for you to commit to signing up with a plan. They try and nicely convince you to sign up for a plan while you are there. I took the time to do some more research and talk to my coach back home and was told golftec is too commercial and not worth the money (my coach says it's the worst). So, I decided to consider the evaluation fee a learning experience and not sign up and find another coach for lessons.

The employees at the pro shop were so disrespectful and rude. Don't bother asking questions if you're not looking for an aggressive response. And don't bother looking for your balls in the bushes. The Marshalls are extremely rude and aggressive, telling us that we should be sticking with our group and that we are in the way of another group teeing off when our entire group is 20 feet away from us still playing. I don't know who thought it would be a good idea to give them a greenlight to tee off while we were still not even halfway down the fairway.
