They have great selections of rare plants! So far, I've seen Siltepecana el Salvador, monstera albo, and even monstera aurea. I've also spotted some rare Hoyas and alocasia varieties as well. In addition, they have some of the most beautiful cacti collections displayed neatly outside the store. Before visiting this place, I wasn't even into cacti/succulents, but now I am so fascinated by them! Moreover, the plants are in excellent condition and they're very well taken care of. The store is also well-organized, and I love that they put labels on each plant, so we know the name of the plants right away. The potteries that they offer here are also very unique! The potteries in other stores tend to be kind of minimalistic for the most part, but this store offers gorgeous clay potteries that come in many different sizes. The service has always been great too! The owner is so welcoming, knowledgeable, and very passionate about plants. I've had a few conversations with the owner about the plants, and I can tell how much she cares and loves the plants. She has so much knowledge about all of her plants, almost like a walking dictionary. Also, make sure to check out their IG: @leafandspine to see the plants that are currently available. I feel good supporting this plant store, knowing how they are so passionate about the plants! Highly recommend getting plants from here!

I stopped by the store to look around and found a fantastic plant, and the owner generously shared care instructions, making this shop a true gem...

The shop is closed but if your interested in purchasing plants from them, you want to check their Instagram when they dropped new plants on their stories! They have a wide variety of plants from succulents, bonsai, and house plants! The plants are reasonably priced. You will have to be first to DM them depending on the number of plants they have available. They also have a pop up shop at the local coffee shop in Highland Park called Kindness and Mischief Coffee. You can walk in and view the plants they have available! Not sure how long their pop up will be up for.

After having moved in, the plan was living things last. The plan changed when I came across Leaf and Spine and a quick browse while I waited for an appointment turned into buying two plants and quickly stashing them in the car in just the nick of time. There were really only two conditions: one, needed a plant that would help oxygenate a room and two it had to be one that could at least do ok in low light. The plant that initially caught my eye unfortunately wasn't one of those but there were definitely some more plants that fit the bill. Between Earnestine trying to find something that fit those categories and me then being distracted and asking if whatever plant caught my eye could work, she definitely used up a lot of patience but was still super informative and helpful. The two little guys are doing well and brightening up my new place. Thanks, LaS!

First time customer. First, wow Highland Park is not the HP I knew way back when. Super cute plant store that is aesthetically pleasing inside and outside. Every plant has its name and price on a simple and effective plant stick. The owner was super helpful with providing information on the plant I was interested in. She even provided a carry on container for my plant There are some classics, favorites and unique looking plants/succulents of all sizes and price ranges. It's definitely worth a visit. Parking is adequate on the street.

I love begonias and my hubs loves his philodendron varicusm

Dustin and Ernestein are the sweetest and so knowledgeable about the plant babies they sell. They really care about the integrity of the plants. We haven't been to a shop that gives us SUCH healthy plants free of gnats and with so much budding growth. So many begonias! Positives: - lots of rare tropical during summer - variety of desert plants (helloooo lithops) Negatives: None

Beautiful selection of indoor and outdoor plants with super friendly staff. Passed this spot randomly and decided to stop by and so happy that I did! The store is tiny but the selection is huge!! They had tons of cute pots available for purchase too which was a plus. Super sweet staff and the woman working was super knowledgeable and very helpful. The prices seemed fair as well! Great place, will be back.

My friend was looking for a Ficus Audrey and couldn't find it anywhere. This place was recommended to me as a rare plant store, so we swung by one Saturday afternoon and IMMEDIATELY saw the lovely ficus sitting outside for only $28. What a deal! The store is super quaint and cute with a decent selection of plants. I found the perfect little Snow Queen Pothos here after not being able to find it in many nurseries in my area. The owner is really nice and knowledgeable. She gave me great advice on how to save my Calathea Medallion at home. Parking can easily be found on the street and the neighborhood is a really nice walk. You may even encounter a few more plant shops down the way.

SO SMART . Leaf and Spine has an amazing business model of doing plant drops via their IG. You'll want to turn your notifications on for their page so you don't miss them and it's a first come first DM situation to win the plant. They of course still cost money but you get an opportunity to take home a rare succulent or houseplant. . The store is unfortunately closed and only doing scheduled pick ups for their selection but you can catch them at pop ups around the area so be sure to follow their IG for the latest. . When arriving at the store be sure to park on the street and not the lot next to the store as that is a lot for the tenants of the apartment complex behind them and the gate closes behind you so you will not be able to leave till someone else comes in. . If you like rare plants then be sure to check them out!

If I chose to spend $10,000 in IKEA, I guarantee I could refurnish my whole home in most rooms with a new furnishings, as well as filling my refrigerator up with a lot of there frozen foods. On another note, the frozen food section has things such as salmon as as well as Swedish meatballs, vegetarian and regular lots of chocolates and many other items with a few of them American made, but mostly items from IKEA with their name brand on it. Overall, it's always a blast I went to IKEA. I just wish it was a lot more direct way to go from the beginning of the store to the location you wanted to and then out but the main system here does have a rhyme to the reason however, I'm completely over the rhyme I want to get in and out sometimes as soon as possible. Overall, a 4/5 star visit because it took way too long to go to the exit from the section, after finding my item directly, within five minutes, and then took me another 12 minutes to get out of the store. ,

We hired them for a full backyard Reno with full wall of ficus trees, full DG backyard with gravel edges, and a wood fence. Everything was going smoothly with scheduling and communication. When the actual work got started, I noticed the DG was not high-quality. It contained a lot of large rocks. Also, they were not digging out enough dirt before laying the DG. I had to bring that up to the foreman and they did dig up some more dirt before laying the DG. When the work was done, a foreman did a quick walk-through with me and I thought everything looked good. We were told not to walk on the wet DG for a day or two. So two days later when I did a better inspection, I started to notice a lot of shotty work. Specifically with the bender board dividing the gravel and I noticed that they used really small nails for the wooden fence. They did come back a month later to fix the DG because there were areas that were "bouncy", as if not enough DG was laid down. They had to dig up big rocks that were preventing the DG from compacting and they laid more DG on some areas. They also tried to fix some bender board problems, but they did a really horrible job. Three months later, some wood planks on our wood fence start curving and popping up. I called the company because our DG and our fence are under a year warranty. Jake asked me to email him with photos and he said he would call back to schedule a day for repair. Since then I have not heard back from them; they have completely ghosted me. I waited a month then I started calling and no one will pick up the phone. I've left messages and I sent text messages to project manager, Amanda, who was great at communication at first, but now has completely ghosted me as well. Meanwhile, we're still paying monthly for this backyard that is falling apart way too quickly. I'm going to just hire someone to fix the fence before it damages further. I would not recommend them again. Completely overpriced for what you get.
