SCAM ALERT! If I could give ZERO stars I would! This guy quoted me $3500 for a job and then when it was time to get started he changed his tuned and went up to over $8000, with all these new problems that I *knew* were fake. They wanted me to write out a check for almost $10,000!! I called my brother-in-law who has an old college buddy who is a plumber and they sent someone over right away. Well low and behold, my brother-in-law's plumber friend told me that Leak Free was charging way too much and that most of the problems they said were there didn't even exist. He actually showed me a video and explained it to me. I could see that the water was running just fine through my pipes. So needless to say I fired these scammers and had a reputable plumber finish the job. I think it's disgusting that these guys tried to pull one over on me, probably because I am a woman. They must have thought since I'm a woman that they could play a fast one on me and cheat me out of my hard earned money. Not to mention he had a really arrogant attitude to boot. 5 starts went to what should be no stars in a flash. We have been using Leak Free for years with great success. They were reliable, personable and we recommended them to others. When my rental condo suffered water damage which caused mold and such, when it came time to detect the leak I set up an appointment by phone with Alam. We set it up a week in advance. I confirmed the appointment by the email he gave me, described the situation and what he would need to bring. (lighting and a ladder.) I confirmed the appointment the day before. No response. I confirmed the appointment that day. Nothing. No answering of the phone or the text messages I left. We used Leak Free Plumbing 3 times - and each time it progressively got worse. The first time they fixed a blockage we had in our sewer line, which had caused the house plumbing to back up. They seemed to know their stuff, so we also had them come back to install a tankless water heater. Being 1st time homeowners, we were naive and did not realize the tankless water heater needed a permit from the city - and they never let us know. When the inspector came to check out our HVAC unit, they fined us a penalty for not having a permit for the tankless water heater. I called Leak Free Plumbing and asked why they had not let us know. Their answer -- most of their customers don't want to bother with a permit. We've been given estimates / had work done by electricians, contractors, etc., and they all let us know of the need for a permit. Not Leak Free Plumbing. But they did agree to pay half of the fee, which seemed fair. The second time we called them was when a hose leading to our refrigerator leaked. They came and "fixed it" with tubing that was never intended for the job -- which we found out from the new plumbers who came to fix it this weekend, because it had started to leak all over our kitchen and garage again. But in the meantime, we had called them for a third and final time because our hose fixtures in the back of the house were leaking, no matter what we did (e.g., replace entire fixture, buy new hose fasteners, use plumbing tape within the connection, etc.). In fact, we also had 4 hoses - 2 in the front and 2 in the back - burst open at the seams. Even after hearing that, they never tested the water pressure - which we recently found out was significantly above average and would require we use a special type of hose. Instead, they told us we needed a washer (which costs about 5 cents) and replaced it for $180. Yes, $180. Crazy. While they seem like nice guys who truly care, please be careful. They are not above taking your money without a true inspection or true quality of work. read more

Hire these guys!! I called them up after the top part of my faucet flew off & hit me in the face. I figured my faucet was broken & needed to be replaced. They showed up, screwed it back together for me & charged me NOTHING. They said my faucet was good quality & they didn't know why it flew off like it did, but they couldn't, in good conscience, charge me anything. Especially since they were here less than 5 minutes. We had an unusual problem where air pressure and water came shooting up from our toilet bowl one morning like a geyser. Suspecting there was a problem with our sewer pipe, my husband contacted Leak Free. Aram and Steve showed up and diagnosed the cause - the city likely had run a high pressure jet cleaning of the pipes, rather than any problem with our pipe. They did a camera inspection to confirm and sure enough our pipe was perfectly sound. They could've easily claimed that our pipe was old and in need of repair to extract more money from us. We've had that happen with a few other sewer inspections before. But they were honest and demonstrated great integrity. We even asked about a broken sprinkler and they told us it'd be cheaper to just have our gardener repair it (he even explained how to do it ourselves). Ashot came out 2 hours after I called and didn't try to sell or replace anything that wasn't needed. He put some glue like paste on my leaky faucet's washer and it was as good as new... in the process he also noticed that my water meter outside was leaking and tried to fix that too without additional cost to me... he couldn't totally fix it though but told me it's the city who needs to that and it won't cost me a dime. These guys are fantastic! I am long overdue on writing this review. About 2 and a half months ago Steve, Aram, and their crew really took care of us. We had just purchased a new home in Highland Park, and knew we had to find a plumber soon as our inspection turned up original cast iron sewer lines that most definitely needed replacing. As it was an expensive job we looked around to try to find a better deal than our plumbing inspectors had quoted. Steve was the person who answered my call. I must say they are all EXTREMELY thorough. They inspected, quoted, and started the job within a few days. We were to have all of the cast iron replaced, a new clean out installed, and the clay pipe connection to the city lined. There were other things such as venting issues for our main bathroom, and replacing a garbage disposal, that they took care of with no extra cost. He said that they would already be there working, so adding those items to the list was not an issue. Top notch. Once they started the job, they found that the connection from our line to the city line was roughly 10-11 feet down under the driveway. They had to dig past the gas line and work around quite a few obstacles to get just that portion of the job done. They did not charge us extra for this, even though it was much more work than expected. Steve 100% worked with any concerns and hiccups we had with what needed to be done and the cost of it. To round it all off, they are just plain good people. Real people. You can tell they care. Aram didn't seem bothered one bit that I sat with him as he installed our new garbage disposal. He was explaining everything to me, and we discovered that the last person who put the now-broken disposal in had used silicone caulk to seal the top ring to the cast iron sink. He said it was the first time he had ever seen that (explained how idiotic it was), and was afraid of cracking our sink to get the old ring off. He took extreme precaution and after a while of working it he got it to budge. Rather than just throwing the new one on, he FULLY cleaned all the little silicone bits off until the sink looked new. He then made sure when putting the new ring down, that the lettering lined up symmetrically. I could have continuously shaken his hand. They fully clean up after everything they do, answer any and every question you may have, and make sure that everything is safe for the neighborhood if they have to leave anything overnight (as for us we had a giant hole in our driveway in a neighborhood with lots of curious kids and they made sure it was fully covered). For any single ladies out there, I was home by myself the entire time the guys were working. Rest assured there will be no funny business or unprofessionalism with these guys. I love honest, decent people who know what good customer service is all about! I had another plumber install a pressure regulating valve on the house, but the pressure was now too low. The original plumber couldn't get it any higher. So, I called these guys. (found them on Yelp from their rating) Ash came out and, not only adjusted the pressure to what it should be in about 5 minutes, but when i asked "how much?" he said "no charge. It took me 5 minutes. call me again if you need it adjusted more". WHAT!?! Seriously!?! not even a service call charge or any of that nonsense... Got their card! Finally, a plumbing service The Husband and I can trust. We had a pipe that, in the middle of a Friday night, decided to make like Old Faithful in our backyard. We got the water shut off and, early Saturday morning, made the rounds on Yelp. Thanks to all the five-star reviews, we went with Leak Free. Ash, one of the owners, was out in about an hour, found and fixed the problem quickly, and charged us fairly ($135). He also took the time to inform us of what we'll need to do in the future (it's part of our sprinkler system), and gave us a reasonable quote for that. Ash and his brother own the company, so there's no salesman trying to up-sell the customer on services they don't need. Honesty! In a plumber! What a concept. Steve and Aram from Leak Free are fantastic. After a sewer line inspector had scoped the line at our new home and found a problem, I had them come out for an estimate. Not only did they re-scope the line themselves during their free estimate, but they then did it _again_ just to show me on the screen how the problem was not where the inspector had said it was. They gave me the lowest estimate for repairs out of three different plumbers, and threw in a few minor repairs in other areas free of charge to boot! On top of a 10% discount for finding them on Yelp, the price was more than reasonable. When they performed the repair to the sewer line, they showed up on time and finished far quicker than I thought such a job would take (this included digging a very deep and wide hole by hand that looked like it had needed a machine, not to mention doing the other minor repairs which were less minor than I thought). Ash didn't actually end up doing any work for me but I had to write this review. He came out to give me a quote on running a water line for a washer. When I told him I would be using it for a portable washer, he said, "don't spend the money on all of this; just hook it up to your sink; it will fit right in there." I tried to pay him some cash for his time coming out as I would now not be hiring him (on his advice, even!) and he wouldn't accept it. Leak Free fixed the leak from the water lines that went into the fridge by replacing the copper adapter with a new one. They also looked at our leaky faucet in our master bathroom and offered two options: a) purchase a hard-to-find missing part or b) install a new faucet stem. We decided not to fix the faucet for the time being because we're planning to remodel the bathroom within the year. We called them Saturday morning and luckily they were in the neighborhood and offered to come by within an hour. They were professional, polite, and educational. They answered a lot of our questions about a possible bathroom remodel. Also, they even wore shoe booties before entering the home, which was highly appreciated since it was wet outside from the rain. Had a leak in my toilet, which I tried to fix myself...and of course made much, much worse. So I called these guys. They were able to come within an hour, calling me periodically to let me know their ETA. Once Aram arrived, he put booties on so as to not track dirt into my house. I showed him the problem, he told me what caused it, and replaced the faulty part that caused my crappy crapper. He replaced the part in less time than he first estimated and now the toilet is leak free, just like their name implies. He then told me how to spot and fix the problem myself in the future should it arise. All this for their flat $108 service call fee (it's normally $120, but they gave me a 10 percent discount since I found them here on Yelp.) I am happy that we called them, even if they couldn't repair the issue. We had a gas leak and had the gas company come and cap our fireplace. The service person said we'd need a plumber to change a part. A day later, we smelled gas again and called several plumbers. It was a federal holiday and many of the companies were closed or booked. Only Leak Free was able to send someone to us within a few hours. I think the plumber was Ash. He arrived promptly. He checked a few places, and although he wasn't able to locate the issue, he said he wouldn't charge us for the visit. He didn't try to sell us any other services or give any BS about replacing things. That was quite surprising, particularly given that it was a holiday and the visit probably took an hour of his time. We will definitely call them for our next repair. It just goes to show that there are still some honest companies out there. read more

We heard water running behind our shower wall; so we checked Yelp and you all led us to Leak Free Plumbing. Called on a Sunday and they were able to fit us in same day no extra charge for Sunday service. After checking every way they could to get at the leak, they informed us that they would need to cut through the tile. They cut exactly one tile, very neatly, and fixed the leak! I couldn't believe they could work from a 4x4 inch hole, but they did. Neat and clean job at a reasonable price. Couldn't be happier. read more
