I use to come here all the time and the people at the front desk are always so rude. The doctor is so sweet. I came in today literally my eye so irritated cause I have a crack in my contact it hurts so bad I explained I haven't been able to schedule an appointment due to me losing my insurance. I told him once I get it fixed I will return but I have a two hour drive back home and cannot see out of one of my eyes and they wouldn't help me even with just one contact because they haven't seen me. If it wasn't an emergency I wouldn't have come in but it hurts extremely bad you can literally look at me and see how red my eye is and how much pain I am in. I ended up calling an eye doctor down the road that I haven't been to and they were willing to help me with one contact which is sad considering this is the one I came to when I had insurance. You would think they would want to help if they wanted me back I will not be coming back once I get my insurance. read more

I just recently took my son to Dr. Prescott through a referral from another doctor whose office was closed for a few days. I didn't know anything about Leander Eyecare, but needed someone to look at my son's eye.The staff greeted us warmly, even sat down next to me to explain things as I filled out the paperwork. I wasn't just a number to them. They saw us last minute, made my 8 year old son feel completely comfortable and calmed my nerves. Dr. Prescott is very friendly and thorough. Unfortunately he wasn't quite sure what was going on with my son's eyes (redness kept coming back, even with the eye drops we got prescribed). I decided to get a second opinion, I needed to know an answer and didn't want it getting worse. The other Dr. took one look, and knew what it was, treated it and we're good to go. Dr. Dang is incompetent and lacks the knowledge to see patients in an optometrist's office. I came in for extreme eye irritation and was very worried about the condition of my eye. There was no triage, no sense of urgency, and they prioritized someone picking out contacts as I waited for over 40 minutes for my appointment. Once I finally was seen she looked at my eye for less than a minute and said "yeah it's irritated I'll prescribe drops," then I was the one who had to prompt her to take a closer look to ensure no foreign object was in my eye and upon further looking at it, she did indeed find a scratch on my eye. She prescribed me a rare eye drop that isn't found at any pharmacy in the area that was $300 with insurance. The pharmacy had to call her, she changed the medication but not the dosage and way overprescribed the amount, then she left the office for the day and was unavailable and we had to make multiple calls to get the issue sorted. This place is a joke they sell me a $400 pair of glasses they completely fall apart within a year i try to contact them in April but they were closed so they tell me that the warranty expired but they claim they will do me a favor & want to sell me more frames at a discount that will also fall apart. Then on top of that they tell my wife im lying about trying to contact them. STAY AWAY !! they are a bunch of clowns who try to up sell anything and everything they are nothing more than a bunch of used care salesman. Look elsewhere... they can't answer their phones and failed to respond to verify the purchase on my Flex Spending Account (I suspect because they didn't answer their phone calls either) To start... They don't answer the phones. Perhaps they're understaffed. No... they ARE understaffed. I had a difficult time to set up my appointment just because I couldn't get anyone to answer the call. That should've been my first hint. Ordering glasses takes time. A couple weeks to get them in. Which isn't an advantage. Eventually When I tried to call to find out where my glasses were -they were a little late- I couldn't get through. Eventually I drove back to the office to figure out what was going on. Turned out that day they were taking off. Nice... no reason to put that on their voicemail I suppose. Oh well... life goes on. That is until my insurance company sent me a letter complaining that they've been trying to get my Flex Spending Account transaction verified (I used it to buy the glasses) and they can't get through to the company, Because of this they will have to cancel my FSA and forfeit my balance!! Leander Eye Care couldn't answer the call for an insurance claim on a tax issue?! I had to take care of that just now and thought I should write a review so people know that they'll be better off elsewhere. I will say the doctor I worked with was nice. Great guy actually. Talked me through the procedure well. He was very professional and courteous. They have modern equipment and their prices are fair. Selection of frames is certainly smaller but decent. I really like how my glasses look. Their brands do seem to be the same as other places - possibly all Luxotica - so take that as you will. Overall, in this regard, they do their job well! read more

I had to cancel a few appointments because I shingles in my eyes twice this year, then another due to migraines that were light sensitive. I was told everything was fine we would reschedule another time. Calling back was a different story they refused my appointment claiming my prior appointments were no shows and they were called and cancelled due to medical conditions. I've been here forever now I have to go somewhere else or sit in their office as a walk-in. No thanks horrible customer service from the office managers that could care less my cancelled appointments were due to medical reasons, I suggest going somewhere where people care. read more

I went here about 5 months ago because I was having trouble with my eyes and wanted to get my contacts looked at. It turns out that it was just allergies (new to the Texas area) and the doctor recommended that I apply Zaditor drops (which worked like a charm). Before walking in I was wearing ProClear Toric lenses which I have been wearing for years. The doctor wanted to try me in some other lenses to see if it would help with my eyes. He tried me in dailies, and some other type of contact lenses. I did the trial pairs and I ended up not liking anything the doctor recommended for me. Leander Eye Care would call me every day asking when they could order me a year's worth of daily contacts. I told them that I wanted to stick with my original contacts and that the Zaditor was the solution. I also didn't want them to order me any new contacts because I had about 7 months worth left and those things are expensive. Now fast forward to September when I am getting low on contacts. I called Leander Eye Care to have them provide me with my contact lens prescription that I paid almost $200 for with the fitting, and that was still valid for another 7 months. They told me that my prescription was not finalized because I did not come in and get the dailies checked out after trying them on for a week. I continued to repeatedly state that I didn't want the dailies and that I just wanted to stick with the ProClear Torics that I had been wearing for years now, but just needed the new prescription details (I like to order from 1-800 Contacts and have that flexibility and not have the doctor order them for me). They told me I would need to come in and they would need to order ProClear Torics for me to try on and have fit and have my prescription re-done (even though I am currently wearing my ProClear Torics as I type this!!). I was absolutely stunned and confused because I had just gotten my prescription done 5 months prior, and paid nearly $200 for! Now they wanted me to come in again, and get re-fitted and pay another fee! I have never had this issue with previous eye doctors, and will not be returning. I will take my business elsewhere as this company just seems set on ordering anything they want their customers to try on as long as they keep coming in and spending money. No thank you. read more

Worst ! Do not go there, staff is rude! The doctors and staff do not explain your exam results. We have gone there twice got differnt doctors. The staff does not explain the various types of frames or extra coating that you can purchase. The second time I went I asked for scratch resistant coating and uv protection for my daughter, I was charged 259.00 I called today because the glasses are scratched they said the warranty can only be valid a year and that I didn't purchase warranty. I'm writing this review to let people know this is a practice that just wants to rush customers in and out to charge there insurance, they don't care about helping customers individual needs. Don't bother coming here they told me they excepted my Sendero ideal healthcare insurance. When I called my insurance company they also said I am in network with Leander eye care as providers, so I go in and make my appointment and they kid at the front tells me that they don't except my insurance but he tried texting me ahead of time to let me know . The only text I got was to confirm or reschedule so you can believe my frustration upon taking time out of my day to go to his appointment and they tell me that they don't take my insurance after they told me they did. Customer service as front desk employees should always call the patients so these sceneries don't happen. You should never be sending out text messages honestly I didn't even want to bother arguing with the kid because they already seemed like a cluster you know what of a mess so I'm just going else where. :) read more

I have been to Leander Eyecare on several occasions. My first experience was when I had something embedded under my eye lid. My previous doctor would not see me without an appointment. I called around and experienced the same with other offices. Dr Prescott made changes in his schedule to assure the health of my eye. First visit with Dr. Prescott. Reception staff were efficient and friendly. They explained upfront what insurance would cover in a routine eye exam. Initially the eye-exam was the first priority but my left eye had been constantly watering. I thought it was cedar fever or an allergic reaction. Dr. Prescott determined there was an irritant that needed to be treated before moving forward on a vision prescription. He explained in great detail what the irritant was and how a steroid cream applied to the corner of my eye should clear it up in a week or so. After a couple of days I have seen significant improvement. Dr. Prescott and staff provided excellent customer care during my visit. read more

This is an optometry practice that I would not recommend to anyone. When I clled to make my appointment I made it clear that I did not need a full eye exam: I had just had my annual comprehensive ophthalmology evaluation and I ONLY NEEDED RX FOR READING GLASSES. I REAFFIREMD THAT BEFORE I WENT IN. However, it was clearly obvious they were trying to do unnecessary exam. When I questioned they had someone come in and excplain to me why the exam was necessary: he had no idea that I have ahjd a comprehensive eye exam and that I was there only for Rx glasses. He went on to explain that my eye doctor would need the extra exam.....not to dwell on the unnecessary practice to improve billing to my insurance I decided I ratehr not argue but leave. Before I left I let them know that I was a neurologist and what they were doing made basolutely no sense. I firmly believe I pay for the servcies I receive and also believe as a professional not to do unnecessary exams to augemtn the billing: that is not an honest practice. read more

This is a great place to go. But be mindful, that most companies websites are not always current. I have seen this with big business to even small business!!! SO, Be a SMART consumer and CALL first to CONFIRM that the organization TAKES your INSURANCE. Because not every business has the time to either contact the outside vendor if they use one or their own time to update the website!!! And for those who just moved here with obscure eye insurance, again I will re-emphasis call the organization before going in just because the website says they take your insurance!!! Also a lot of insurance companies are leaving Texas!!! Look at the news! This place does a great job of providing eye care. Don't be so naive and assume what is on the website is true. But if you want a great place to get your eyes examined go here!! As for getting Glasses I recommend other places because they don't do them in house. They send off to an outside eye glasses place to get the glasses made. And they are more expensive than a lot of other places. But for exams they are great!! read more

I stopped by yesterday because I lost my glasses and have been having horrible headaches, eye strain and my eyes have been crossing--I am currently using my back up "computer glasses". I went here because they advertise as taking my insurance, Davis Insurance and we are new to Leander. Long story short, they no longer take my insurance and were incredibly rude. I explained that both their website and my insurance website states they accept my insurance--thinking he was new and didn't know what was going on. He could have cared less, offered no explanation as to why the website doesn't match what insurance they DO take. I have no clue how or why this place has such high reviews but customer service ISN'T IT. read more

Great experience! We've relocated to the Leander area and came across Leander Eye Care by chance (we drove by - they are close to Lowe's, right off of 183.) Booking my appointment was easy. The staff upon arrival was very friendly, the office is really nice and I was extremely impressed with Dr. Prescott. He educated me about my eyes and asked lots of questions. When ordering my glasses, they made it very easy to make a decision and worked with me on the best deal with my insurance (I have 2 eye coverages and we chose the best one that saved me the most money - how often does that happen in the medical industry??) Overall, fantastic service. I will pick up my glasses in the next week or so and will provide an update on that experience as well. Very pleased so far! read more

Was excited about getting my glasses. Soon as I put them on I knew something was right. Thought I'd give my eyes a few Days to adjust. Went back and complained of fuzzy image in center of optic. But clear everywhere else in field of view. It was as if I where talking to a wall (office personal) that is. Didn't even talk to Jason the doc I'd seen. I feel as if the glasses are hurting my eye sight. I'm going to cancel my 2 sons appointments and enlighten my neice with her two kids. My first time going to this office was last year. Just about as I was running out of my yearly supply of contacts, like clockwork, they called me to schedule my yearly eye exam. The appointment seemed to run very smoothly, the staff was very friendly, and the office felt very clean and organized. My favorite part was that Dr. Prescott noticed that I was in some very expensive contacts and offered to have me try some comparable less expensive kind to save me money. I've been coming to Leander Eye Care for the past 3-4 years now, and my last experience was the only slightly disappointing one. I say experience because the appointments themselves were great. The first issue I had was that my Take Command Health benefits weren't accepted even though Leander Eye Care is listed as a provider on their website, so I expected to receive a discount through that. I showed the card, but the person at the counter just looked at it and handed it back. I'm going to have Take Command Health contact them about this. The second issue is that I was supposed to receive a phone call when a certain contact with a different axis came in. A week passed without a call, and I ended up ruining the trial pair by mixing old ClearCare solution with new. I was able to grab a slightly different but similar pair in the interim before a weeklong work trip to NYC. Another full week passed, and I still hadn't heard back about the contact that had to be ordered. I called and they had gotten it in, and I was able to make my appointment for a fitting for the same day. During the appointment, I found out that the contact they tried to order isn't even available in that axis, so I was basically put back in the same original pair. It just seems weird that I would have to be the one to call. I also have to call back after a week in these contacts to get my actual prescription, so I can order the contacts. I just didn't expect getting a new contact prescription to take 3 weeks. However, with all that said, I feel like this set of contacts is the best I've had so far vision-wise. The doctor I saw on my first visit, a female who I hadn't seen before, was extremely thorough. Dr. Prescott, who I saw at my follow up appointment, was great per usual! read more
