This review may be a little premature as I've only spoken to Mirna on the phone thus far. I called, fed up and nearly in tears after dealing with a behavioral issue my pup has been displaying the last 4-6 weeks. I assumed anyone I spoke to would want to charge me up front before starting a consultation. To my surprise, Mirna asked about my issue and probed to find out what circumstances could be causing it. We came up with an action plan all over the phone and agreed I would call back in a week if nothing changed. I am still on the verge of tears, but now out of gratitude for her willingness to help solve the problem before charging me. Thank you, Mirna! If I could give Learning Paws 10 stars I would! I have been taking my fur baby, Finch, to Learning Paws for the last 2 years, since he was a puppy. He enjoys every day at school and absolutely loves it. He is well socialized and receives training daily along with mental stimulation so he is not bored. He is one happy and tired dog after a day at Learning Paws. He has also attended and graduated from puppy kindergarten, fungility and urban dog class. Pet taxi is also a plus as is the close proximity to the airport when traveling. Lena and Mirna and their staff take care of Finch as if he was their own. Mirna was fabulous. Calvin and I did the urban dog training. I think I learned just as much as Calvin. I really appreciate and respect how much she understands about a dog's psychology, patterns and how they learn an respond, this allowed us to redirect a few behaviors we wanted to see change without punishment or stress for Calvin or I. I can't say enough about the incredible staff at Learning Paws. After adopting her, I was really nervous to leave my babe anywhere, but over the last 9 months am 100% confident recommending them to everyone on yelp, at the dog park, at work, next to me on an airplane... strangers at Whole Foods. I love that they post photos and videos on Facebook so you can see your little one playing, napping and making friends. I love that they offer lunch and a taxi service home so my little jellybean is comfy and fed when I work later than the 7pm closing time. I love that when she had meds prescribed, the staff happily gave them to her exactly as I specified. Those are what you hope for from a day care and boarding facility, but Learning Paws has gone above and beyond for me and my pup on multiple occasions. They were able to accommodate us and board my babe when last minute work trips came up. When health concerns limited her to at-home care, they bent over backwards to make sure she was well-cared for in our home (and even stayed the night with her- cuddling is complimentary with slumber party stays). Most recently, they alerted me when she was not acting like her usual waggy self. I was so reassured by the precautions they took to ensure the health and safety of not only my pup, but the other pups at day care. They love our dogs, so they don't mess around with any signs of illness. Thanks to their response, I immediately sought veterinary care and found a serious (and non-contagious) condition that I was able to treat and in all honesty probably save the life of my little bear. What a wonderful place for dogs! Our pup jumps out of the car with his tail wagging when we get there. He can't wait to play with all his friends...four footed and two footed alike. Run by a loving and attentive staff where our dog is known and loved...as are all the dogs. We are always at peace when we drop him off to board for the weekend when we travel, knowing he will have fun and that he will be well cared for. We signed Milo up for one on one lessons a few months ago and Kyle was wonderful. We really loved the service and experience that we had. We are going out of town for New Years and we're looking at or options for Milo and we decided to stop by and ask a few questions about their boarding options. I've been taking my 1 yr old German shepherd there for 3-4 weeks now. The staff is courteous and amazing with the dogs. My dog has some leash aggression issues that I've also been working with Mirna on. In the time we've been working together, I've seen a tremendous change in my dogs leash behavior. This is definitely not your north scottsdale oasis or crazy pools and parks that Ive seen some other places have. But they do everything the RIGHT way. I would highly recommend this place and all the owners and the staff! We love Learning Paws and especially Lena and Mirna. We took our dogs to their training classes and they though us so much, not only commands but how to build a relationship with our dogs based on trust and love. When we work long hours we take them to day school and they not only get tired but they also improve-their manners. The whole staff is super friendly, you can tell that they love our dogs! At night there is a person there watching them as well and that provides great peace of mind. One of our dogs is on medication for valley fever and it's really helpful that Mirna( one of the owners) is a veterinary technician and that she triple checks dose and make sure that he gets meds and gives us updates. These ladies go above and beyond to care for pups, not only clients dogs but they also volunteer and foster! They are truly a small business that we will always trust and support!! read more

I already posted a review about a year ago but I need to share this! Learning Paws, the owners and people working there are just incredible! They went way above and beyond of what we would expect from the doggy daycare/boarding place! Me and my currently husband went to Greece to get married and left our two pitties for boarding at Learning Paws. On our wedding day (they were sneaky to ask us when we were getting married ) they took and posted pictures of our two girls in wedding attire- with flowers, veils, and sweet messages to us. When I saw the pictures I cried and laughed at the same time! They were amazing!!!! They were ranked as the best doggy daycare in Phoenix and they really earned it! I also wanted to mention that our one baby has cancer and takes 20 pills and supplements a day and they did an amazing job taking care of her!!!! I have and will continue to recommend Learning Pawsibilities to everyone I know! Our labradoodle, Penny, has gone through puppy lessons and private lessons. Lena was outstanding. She was so patient and helpful. Her love for dogs and positive training methods helped Penny so much. More importantly, she provided my family with the tools we needed to continue to train Penny. Very disappointed I went to this location I was told there was a grand opening on 24 Street and Thomas which I went the first day I understand they were busy so I made an appointment and when I got there waited quite a while and when she finally came out she apologized and said she would call me the following Monday well I'm going on two weeks and she never called so much for wanting my business! I have to say I'm extremely disappointed. I have brought my two dogs to Learning Paws a few times over an almost three year period. They were the ONLY place I would trust with my dogs when my sister and I were both away. My dogs were always happy when we pulled in. Then in March, we left the boys there for the weekend. I wont' go into details about that stay other than to say I had some concerns that they weren't being fed correctly and we had been overcharged. I called back and was told that one of my dogs was stressed and not eating. My question was why weren't we contacted if my dog was barely eating all weekend? She couldn't answer... Forward to August when my sister and I were going away for another weekend. We seriously debated finding another facility but since March was the first time we had any concerns and the boys had always loved LP we went back. It was a mistake. From Thursday to Sunday the dogs should have had 6 meals that we had portioned out. They were given 3 and were clearly hungry when I picked them up. The dry food and scoop we sent had also disappeared. More important is issues with medication. Both dogs are on medication. I sent enough pills for the time we planned to be away and one extra in case there was a problem. Neither one of them received their medication correctly. One had as a thyroid condition and missed two doses. The second dog has seizures and has two different meds for it. I sent enough pills with one extra dose of each of these medications. I got two days of doses back when we picked him up. My dog was taken off of seizures meds cold turkey for TWO DAYS by this facility. My sister went back on Monday to ask what happened and we were told they'd look into it and get back to us. This was on August 16. I emailed to follow up on August 21 and got no response. We paid $300 over a weekend for our dogs to be kept safe and healthy and they clearly didn't do that. It's by shear luck alone that he didn't have seizures of worse with a sudden withdrawal to his medications. I've gone from telling everyone this is a great place you can depend on to keep your dogs safe to a place I would warn others against. read more

We were introduced to Learning Pawsibilities due to having to board our Sadie for 2 weeks as we were going on vacation. They took excellent care of Sadie. We have enrolled Sadie in training as well the the outcome was great. As a result of the exceptional care provides by Learning Pawsibilities, we take Sadie once a week for a day of playing so that she can socialize with other dogs in the same size group as Sadie. When we go to pick her up she literally turns back towards where the play areas are and wants to go back. It takes coaxing to get her to leave. To me that says a lot about the level of care that they provide to our Sadie. The staff does an outstanding job and provides love to Sadie and the other dogs lucky enough to be there. My puppy and I are pretty new to LP. After the first training class I was told she needed more help socializing so I've brought her in to the day care a few times. I do feel like I have to fish for information about how she did, plus they don't seem to offer the ability to check on your dog through webcam. read more

I contacted Mirna regarding a session for training my dog. My focus was for my dog to be able to walk on a leash without pulling. The second behavior was to not bark and jump on people when they came to the door. I was told the trainer would bring various harness sizes for training. The trainer did not have the size harness my dog needed, thus we couldn't work on the main behavior I wanted help with. The trainer did work with me on my dog not barking and jumping and it was very helpful. The trainer told me she would send training videos so I could work on the pulling and continue with my training. I never received the training videos. I have text the trainer and e-mailed the owner and still haven't heard anything. This occurred in January. I wou. I think the actual training is good, but the communication and basic good business practices are severely lacking. read more

My 16 month old frenchie has been going to daycare since he was 5 months old and is still excited about it like it's his first day. Being a first time dog mom I was not prepared when my pup Mr. Pickles exhibited separation anxiety. My niece suggested I find a doggy daycare to take him to a couple times a week. I did some research and found Learning Pawsibilities right in my neighborhood and what a find it was! Mr. Pickles and I couldn't be happier! All I have to do is ask him if he wants to go to "school" and he starts bouncing off the walls with joy. And when we pull into the parking lot, he squeals with delight! I am so thankful for Learning Paws! My 4 year old Weimaraner has always been extremely anxious about nail trims. We have been to many places who were unable to trim his nails due to his anxiety and strength. However, Sean has done an amazing job with him multiple times! My dog's anxiety surrounding nail trims has improved significantly. I can't thank Sean and the Learning Paws team enough for being the solution to this problem!
