It was a really nice place in 2018/2019 the owner she was nice. I loved how they remodeled it around 2020 time frame. Taking away the bright pink and purple gave it a fresh new look. But now (2026) I really think it's has new owner because the remodel it has now is nice but just off and it's dirty, food/sauce on the blinds and the walls. Food isn't that good anymore or the ice cream. Plus the price was so expressive could not believe how much we spent on two people. Can't even use the bathroom without a key and it hardly works. My boyfriend has driven by this place for years and he suggested that we give it a try and I can't believe we never came here sooner! Their smash burgers are fresh and not super greasy. Their fries are super crisp and freshly made, it reminds me of the fries from In-N-Out. The retro decor and jukebox in the back takes you back to that old school diner atmosphere. It's also super affordable, our entire meal for 2 was $21! (One single smash burger and one double smash burger with an order of fries and onion rings). I also appreciate that they provide individual hand wet wipes. I think I found my new go to burger spot! Their desserts/ice cream also looked amazing and I will need to try next time. read more

My daughter is moving into an apartment near Leason's so we've begun exploring restaurants near her new home. Wonderful new murals and decor updates, but still no changing tables in the restrooms even though there is room for one. It's very difficult to change a diaper while the toddler is standing (or for a baby that can't even stand). The portions are still great and delicious. Stopped by Leasons because they carry Ashby's Michigan Pothole icecream flavor, a seasonal favorite. They not only ice cream and other ice cream desserts but they also serve burgers, hot dogs, fries. Plenty of indoor booth seating as well as old fashion stool seating against the window, and big jukebox in the seating area. This place is almost reminiscent of a 50's ice cream shop. Don't be too discouraged by the long line, it moves along fairly well because their staff hustles. read more

Seven years ago, I frequented this establishment with my family, and it was always a favorite. During my current visit to Warren, my daughter expressed a desire to return, so we visited twice this week. The restaurant continues to prepare everything fresh to order, resulting in a short wait time, which is reasonable. My daughter had a hamburger combo with french fries, and I opted for a salad. She remarked that the burger tasted different (she preferred the taste from seven years ago), and my salad, while not exceptional, was satisfactory. On our second visit, my daughter ordered the same meal while I tried a hamburger. We were pleased with our meals and had no complaints. For those who enjoy fries, this place is highly recommended--they provide generous portions. We shared her fries and found ourselves unable to finish them due to the large quantity. Both visits were marked by welcoming employees and a clean environment, which is always good However, an incident occurred during our last visit. An elderly woman was having difficulty filling her cup with water while holding a large soft-serve ice cream cone . An employee behind the counter observed her with a grin as she repeatedly poured out ice after mistakenly filling her cup with soda. Eventually, she found the correct switch and filled her cup with water. The employee appeared amused but did not offer assistance. Although he was young, he should have helped her. Anyways... I give this place 4/5 stars. Update: Third visit! My daughter wanted ice cream, so we went this afternoon. Despite being packed, the line moved quickly. She got a blue moon waffle cone, and I had a twist soft serve. She loved hers, and mine was good too! read more

Yelp! asks me if I recommend this business. Are you kidding? Of course I do. My family has been going here forever, both when I was young and now with my kids. They have whatever frozen treat you need to satisfy your sweet tooth and freeze your brain, sometimes at the same time. Delicious, high quality ice cream and quick and friendly service. And don't miss the car shows, they bring out some cool people and rides to check out. There's a reason this place is a community tradition, and hopefully will continue to be. It is seasonal, so you're not going to get your ice cream fix in the winter. They're currently closed until March. read more

When I lived in the area I'd come here whenever I went for a walk with my mom. I still stop by when I'm back in town to satisfy my craving. The girls are always friendly and the ice cream is delicious and cheap! It doesn't get better than that. They have loads of different flavors to choose from or just your basic twist in a cone. They have plenty of food as well, but normally I just grab something I can eat while walking. I even forgot my money once, and realized after I ordered, and they were so nice about it. Why do the owners want to constantly change the original, well loved feeling of Leason's? It was a local staple of Warren and they keep changing it to look uglier on the inside and out, while taking away old menu items. Now there's nothing special you can't find anywhere else. NOT like it used to be. Leasons was sold off and under new ownership. An let me tell you my childhood local ice cream store has changed Drastically. The ice cream prices have gone up and the quality has gone way down. The first time I went the soft serve was out of order. So I got a hard scoop which are icey almost like freezer burnt. I went back to try the chocolate soft serve and it was void of any chocolate flavor. My favorite dip blue raspberry was out this day, could've saved my experience. It just feels like they expanded their menu to include things like dole whip, cotton candy dip and brought back the hot foods but run out of or cut corners on the original menu. I believe they stopped selling those chocolate explosion sandwiches and ice cream cakes as well as I saw no coolers for them. An the DO NOT BUY the pup cup!!! It's regular soft serve! I've visited this place several times as they had car cruise night, the firist time would had been my last had it not been for the cars there. The service was extremely slow to make simple food, one visit I ordered and everything was Ala carte, so regular American Cheeseburger, fries, shake, over paid and waited 40 minutes before called to pickup. The bun was dry and fell apart picking it up, also they forgot the pickles, ketchup and mustard, I had to return and wait another 10 minutes to get my cold burger back with the cold fries, drank the shake waiting. Went back a few weeks later, figure to try something simpler, ordered cheese Quesadilla and fries, over paid and waited again 40 minutes, found it had been sitting on counter 10 minutes because they lost track of calling orders, so again cold cheese quesadilla and fries, I commented to owner Tom who said he was sorry and will try to figure it out, the end. So last Sunday 8/20/23, and final time, I'm inside waiting to place order after looking at all the cool cars outside, theres a loud disturbance in the eating area, it's the owner Tom menacing a female car club member, cursing the F bomb and demanding they all leave but cornering this woman before pulling a metal license plate from the wall bending it in half and throwing it at her, barely missing her striking the wall with force, her club members got in between them so she could escape, by now the whole place is emptying out, and I also leave with the remaining club members. This owner is unprofessional, uncivilized and unhinged, and his business unorganized, now unsafe, he should have been charged with assualt and public menacing. get some anger management, shame on you grown man. read more

A family tradition dating back 3 generations now. Larry & his family have made Leasons an ice cream institution here in Warren for many years. I like to fight the crowds of soccer & baseball players so my kids can enjoy the ice cream here as my dad with me, like my grandparents did with him. There are not many family joints left were you can say that anymore. They have burgers, dogs, fries, blizzards. The soft served ice cream is really good, but my favorite is the double scoop cookie dough in a chocolate & sprinkled covered waffle cone. We stopped in here today twice - once for lunch and then in the evening after our trip to Mexicantown. At lunch I had a foot long coney with curly fries. The chili was a little bland but the onions were a great complement, and the dog itself had a satisfying pop and good flavor. Overall a great deal for $3.49. The curly fries were a little disappointing unfortunately. As for the evening trip, I got the gold digger sundae, which was really delicious! It combines the soft serve with chocolate, caramel and pecans. They have a wide variety of food and ice cream treats here so the appeal is obvious. This is one of those little hidden gems that I didn't even know was in my neighborhood. I've driven by it many times and never stop just because I was going somewhere else and trying something new that was usually in Ferndale or downtown Detroit. And the funny part is one of my favorite pizza places is across the street from this place and yet I still have never stopped in here. A friend of mine brought me here since they live a few blocks away. I was hesitant at first because it's not one of those places that I've heard from from a lot of friends like Erma's. But I will say I was very impressed with the ice cream in my meal and the service here. I like the little niche they got going on with the old feel of this place. It wasn't a bad old field but a good modern old feel and that's what I liked about it. Leason's is a Warren staple and you MUST try it! My husband's friends have fond memories of Leason's when it was Dairy Boy (with a mascot strikingly similar to Dennis the Menace, the mascot of that "other" dairy chain). However, since "umpteen" years ago, Leason's has been rolling out the fries, sandwiches and ice cream Metro Detroiters love. Since we were on the east side, we stopped by today for a Reuben combo (add fries and a drink) and a burger with waffle fries. The food is pretty solid; it's not enough to make you write home to mom, but it's definitely good enough to keep you going back. Then follow your fries with some awesome ice cream creations. They have a new Glacier (the other dairy chain calls it a Blizzard) called cupcake explosion that we highly recommend! Apparently they have added "patio nights" with a DJ and musician for the kids.
