Food is great service great family friendly and the Ambiance fantastic. Pricing is decent. Do wish they did have umbrellas with the picnic tables or shed area. We love this place. The best dole whip. But ever since we have been coming nobody knows how to make a 22 oz styrofoam icecream cup. We like to get them bc they last a couple days. They say "small upside down" or they say "22 oz" but every time we order it majority of workers have no idea what we're talking about and they all say something different. They all say to say something different than what we were told the time before and when we say it the next time it's made wrong or the next person has no idea what we're saying. One time we got a huge extra extra large cup, one time we said 2 small Upside down dole twists (like what we were told to say the last time) and we got 2 banana splits of some sort w whipped cream On top, every time we order 22 oz styrofoam they shut the window to ask other workers what to do, and every time we get charged a different price. I have a list of all the receipts from this year. The first one was the time we got that very very large cup of icecream and only one of them even though we did order 2 icecream cups, and the second charge was also a discounted charge because we accepted old icecream for a discounted price but every other time this year we have gotten the same order after that. Two 22oz either dole whip twists or regular dole whip. Not to mention we spend roughly $7 on each cup... and the last couple times I can push the icecream down to half way of the cup because of all the air left in between. Just seems like it's getting pricier and pricier for not even a full cup. Great icecream but I just feel like a large styrofoam cup isn't an off the wall request like how they make us feel every single time. We hope to come back and be able to order this in the future easier, and for one price. Thank you. read more

if you've never heard of an upside down banana split this is the place unfortunately it's not the same every time. The staff seems to be a lot of turnover so the dairy products are made on each individuals opinion rather than standardized. The drive-through is disappointing because you can place your order by young people who then take it inside and sometimes your order comes out and you're not able to leave because there are cars in front of you have never been inside since you are not allowed to and never placed an order and sat there to eat. We have yet to find a locally owned ice cream shop offering better milkshakes than Dairy Maid. We frequent here in the summer to get our fixes of strawberry, peanut butter, and chocolate shakes (not all combined together--separate flavors!). The pricing is reasonable for their offerings and being a small business. They only accept cash but we always come prepared. We'd hate to miss out on our chance for those milkshakes! read more

The service was good! The employees were very nice people but I'm giving this place only 3 stars because I feel like they could step up the food game. I ordered a strawberry shortcake and the bread was a hardened store bought cake. I highly recommend ice cream shops to make their own biscuits. (ALWAYS IS A WIN). Today my husband and I tried out dairy maid because we live fairly close and we've always passed and wondered if it would be good. We were actually on our way to Wallys because we are obsessed with that place but we decided to give dairy maid a try. The wait wasn't too long which is obviously always an awesome thing but our interactions with the lady servicing us was not pleasant at all. I asked her a simple question about the dipped flavors offered because I did not see it on the menu and she was very dull and quick to respond. She was frustrated and I don't know why. Sure we gave her the benefit of the doubt because she could just be having a bad day but don't take it out on a customer who is being pleasant and still saying thank you after you continue to be a bit rude. She slammed the window every time she closed it. That was about 4 times and my husband and I were like alright then. We were having such a pleasant evening but that frustrated us a bit. Service is very important to us. The ice cream was okay but since the service was super disappointing I think we're going to stick with Wallys. It might be a little more of a drive but it is what it is. read more

From what I've been told, Dairy Maid is an iconic Fraser staple and a must have cool treat on those not so cool days. I've gotten ice cream from there twice since moving here and each time I was left unimpressed, this last time more than the first. Tonight I essentially paid $4.75 for a cup full of cookie dough. Don't get me wrong, I am a fan of cookie dough, but I'm a bigger fan of ice cream. And when it's 90% cookie dough that leaves me displeased. I ate less than a quarter of what I paid for and the rest went in the trash because it was just too much and too rich. If I'd have eaten anymore if have been left with a stomach ache too. The staff seem friendly, but lack common sense. When I ordered I asked for a medium Flurry and the girl looked at me as if I just asked her to perform open heart surgery or something. She then followed up by showing me the two cup sizes they offer; regular and large. I opted for the regular as it seemed plenty big enough. Also they only accept cash. I get it, you don't want to have to pay processing fees for credit card transactions, but this is 2013, get with the times and get a credit card machine! Very rarely do people carry cash on them nowadays and by excluding credit you're in turn excluding those clients and therefore losing business. No offense to this establishments or those who rave about how awesome it is, I'd rather spend my money at Dairy Queen or Culver's the next time I'm in the mood for a quick ice cream treat. read more

Went to Dairy Maid since it's close to my house and was pretty disappointed. Their equivalent of the Dairy Queen Blizzard had hardly any toppings. It was all vanilla ice cream. What a great local establishment! Very neighborhood friendly strongly supports Fraser groups and services! I have moved to Warren, but still drive to Fraser to get a twist cone. So creamy and not overly sweet just rich and creamy. LOVE IT!! The owners are sweet and honestly care about all the customers that come by. They were really helpful and answered all my weird questions about their products. This is a cash only spot but the prices are perfect and the sizes are huge. My new favorite dessert spot. Stopped by with my friend the other day and had a good experience. They have a pretty good variety on their menu and their prices are fantastic. The only thing is that they don't accept cards so I did have to scrounge around my car for some coins haha. In 2017 I think it's pretty reasonable that you should be able to use a credit card anywhere you go. read more
