My review is only for the Sunday night buffett: I did not stay in this very unique hotel. The setting for the restaurant is amazing: I have never seen anything like it. The waterfall was an impressive backdrop to multiple seating options. The buffett was horrible. At $35 per person: selection minimal, pulled pork so dry (and no sauce), salads: mushy. Presentation of the food on the buffet table was sloppy, poorly done and inconvenient. I still can't figure out the dessert: trifle??? It was fun being outside on a gorgeous night with fun people and a good band. The craft beer promotion was also very poorly done. Set up was right beside the band, so you couldn't hear a thing the promoter was saying. The samples were hot, so they tasted terrible. We had a passionate waiter who we enjoyed. Friendly staff, clean room, but certainly not worth the price. The room that we got is set up as a duplex 2 bedroom suite. The bedrooms are on the second floor. There's a steep spiral staircase connecting the 2 levels. What we really appreciate is that on the 1st fl, there's a full kitchen with microwave , fridge, oven, dishwasher, stovetop and dining table with 5 chairs. We also appreciate the free wifi and playpen for our baby. What we are not too crazy about are the outdated furniture/decor (they advertise modern style) and not-so-optimal heat (adjusting thermostat doesn't seem to do anything and they need to supplement with space heater ). read more

Beautiful location and scenery. If you book certain rooms the price is nice with a free breakfast thrown in from the settlers inn but other and better rooms are way to much. We had room 111 and someone was working above us till almost 11 scraping a floor or something like that. It looks like a office and not a sleeping room above it. Tried calling the desk but nobody on duty after a certain hour. The bed was NOT comfortable. Way to hard and not a good mattress. The on grounds restaurant is closed Monday and Tuesday which as a hotel restaurant it should be open every day. . They have a good sitting room with nice danish's and coffee and decks overlooking the falls. A lot of good and a lot of bad as well. The fact that the bed was to hard and noisy after 10 from workers at night made our sleep difficult an hence the lower rating of 2 stars. Fix these 2 things and it would be a 4. read more

The place is beautiful & very scenic. We attended a wedding & it was done excellent. The staff left out a few small details, but that is expected. The scenery was awesome. The food was fine. Nothing outstanding. But, the facility made up for it. I thought the room was on the small side. If you get the loft, the spiral stairs will make you dizzy. Worse if you had a few drinks. You can sit on the deck for hours staring at the waterfalls. I like the fact that they're repurposing an old building. The staff is extremely nice and accommodating. The deluxe suite nearest the falls has a tent blocking some of the view which I chose anyway. I didn't expect however that we couldn't open the windows to create a breeze or hear the falls. I spent over 3 bills on a room which I think was worth probably two and some change max. The restaurant was closed in June on a Tuesday which S&cked however it's clearly marked on the website. I really went back and forth between 3 and 4 stars. I go back to the details to get to three stars. The coffee in the AM had grounds in it. It was good but nonetheless. The windows not opening. The restaurant not being open (not their fault). Maybe if I stayed there on a Wednesday I would give it 4? read more

The glass factory from which this hotel was retro fitted has been careful to take pride in this notion EXCEPT in the bar downstairs the original cut glass collection they have is NOT displayed well.. The case was dirty and the glasses misaligned. I hope they have corrected this as I mentioned it to the front desk. They said they would and if someone goes there can you check to see if they did what they said they would and let me know!?! read more

Wonderful experience! We booked through Groupon. From the front desk to the room everything was romantic & relaxing. Very clean & updated. The charm was left from the old glass factory. You can sit outside enjoy the waterfall or play board games & sit by the fire place. The restaurant in the hotel was do delicious with great staff. It won't break the bank for tappas. I stayed here for my birthday and loved it! The room was gorgeous and had a great view of the waterfall! At night, you can sit around the fire pit and listen to the water! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling in the area! It's a hidden gem! The staff and area are great! Hiking trails, horseback riding and good restaurants are close by and convenient! If I'm ever back in the area, I will definitely be back! read more

Tucked away in a semi secluded area Ledges Hotel is simply beautiful. The staff is very attentive. Architecture simply beautiful. The establishment has a nice home feel to it. With a fire burning, a nice cup of tea and a board game to play. In the morning we drank tea while watching the falls on the deck. We found this great establishment via Groupon. read more

This place looks great on the internet. It looks just as good in person. But if you want to stay in a hotel the knows anything about the hospitality business, Ledges is a bad choice. 1. As a waiter of 6 years, I had the worst service in Ledge's "Bistro" than I can ever remember in any other establishment. I got far better service in a cheap bar in town, and the burger only cost 3 bucks. 2. They have tried to move me from room to room, and even to another establishment that they own. They have no idea as to what they're doing, but they do charge the big bucks for their lack of knowledge of what hospitality means. 3. Beware of any hotel that charges over $200 per night, but offers no breakfast. Even the cheapest of cheap motels offer something other than coffee with no creamer in the morning. 4. No "do not disturb" hangers available to hang on my door. Someone came in and stole from my room this morning. Is this place really a hotel??? What a fantastic boutique hotel! ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! The pictures are good, but in person it is spectacular. The hotel is on the edge of a waterfall and each view is beautiful. Serenity is easily found. We did a girls trip and 4 of us shared the 2 bedroom suite. There was more than enough room, beds, roll away couch, full out beds, whatever works. Full kitchen. Affordable and comfortable for family, friends or escape. Definitely a great venue to consider for a wedding or family reunion. Area is pretty. We misjudged the distance to white water rafting, but were close to amazing parks, the lakes, canoeing etc. Continental breakfast included & was delicious. Game room. Loved it! I call 4 days in advance for our special anniversary Saturday dinner. . "Reservations!" "Oh, darn, all booked up Saturday, how about Friday?" Completely open" " .-" 7 o'clock ?. " "Perfect". "See you then!!!" We arrive at 6:50. The line is 6 deep for Doug, host, custodian, trouble shooter. " Go wander around the falls, have a drink. We will find you!". Red flags were fluttering but it was our 9th anniversary, so "whatever". 4 deep queue for the bar, so we wander for 15, then come back and finally get a drink. Wander some more. Like 30 minutes more. We sit and gaze and realize there are many other people sitting, gazing and wandering, and wondering, what the f.....like Night of the Living Dead, but smiley people because this is the place to come for romance, celebration, festivity! The setting is spectacular! At the hour waiting mark, I see Doug replacing a propane tank, and I let loose. If I heard him say, "I'm doing my best" or "I'm on your side", less than 5 times each in our 3 minute exchange, I heard each 10 times. I tell him it's not personal but about their reservation system and if they have only 2 deuce tables at 7PM, don't book 5 reservations. He's profusely and repeatedly apologetic. He's been in this movie scene many times before. Red banners wafting. Anyway, at the 70 minute mark, we leave, no food, as we were sure getting food would take as long as getting a table. Yes, we were quite pissed off but happier about leaving and not being a pawn in their overbooking, airlines-like method, although I'm sure, not as contrived. In all fairness, others who recommended Glass have gone EARLIER, like 5 PM and have had no problems. Good to know but better to know if that you make a reservation, for ANYTIME, you will, within a "reasonable" time period, have a table and get served. Standard protocol. read more

I called the hotel to make my reservation and specifically asked for a room with a view. They said all they had left was a room with a partial view so I accepted. When I arrived at the hotel, I found the room had absolutely no falls view at all. In fact, the window was right in front of the dining area so I had to keep my curtain closed the entire stay for privacy. The room was also extremely small and there was barely anywhere to set my luggage. I heard the restaurant in the hotel was good but it closes at 9 which is pretty early for me. There are not any other restaurants nearby that are open late but there is a town with some fast food options about 15 min away. When I went to checkout, there was no one at the front desk and I waited for about 10 minutes until the receptionist finally showed up. It was nice eating breakfast outside on the deck by the waterfall but that was the only redeeming thing about this place. I agree with another reviewer that said it would be nice if there was designated parking for hotel guests. The lot gets pretty crowded with customers who are there just for dinner. read more

We went here for our anniversary in March and have nothing but postitive things to say about our stay. From the front desk to the room, to the food and drinks the service and comfort level was high. Doug is a great bartender and before we knew it our happy hour led right into dinner, which was delicious and helped us soak up the alcohol. The room was nice for the unique location, however we would most likely not choose the closest room to the common area since I am a light sleeper and the foot traffic in the morning woke me up. My Significant other brought us here to surprise me for my birthday. Located in the old glass factory below the former silk mill...upon check in we were met with a very heartfelt welcome Alana, who check us in, took us on a brief tour and then showed us to the room. Or I should say suite. We had the corner suite room 202. Perfect view of the falls and the lower decks. The 2 story room was clean and spacious with a slightly more contemporary decor but not so out of place for a building dating back to the 1800's. The only thing we had issue with was getting our large suite case up the spiral stair case. Other than that, the master bath was awesome with a nice big soaking tub. Definitely recommend this place for a nice getaway or event. read more

Other reviews talk about the small rooms, but the breathtaking views from the cascading porches and the spacious and accommodating great room with games and snacks keep you out of your room most of the time. We stayed on a weeknight when the restaurant, Glass, was closed but had a chance to hang out in the space and get some drinks from Pete at the bar. I LOVE this place! Everything is so modern and just beautiful. My husband is very picky when it comes to the places we stay, and he loved it as well. We got one of the two floor suites with the Jacuzzi & kitchen. The views are amazing and it is so nice that the hotel is really tucked away. We loved that it felt we were far away in the mountains but still had all the modern commodities from home. The staff was so accommodating and friendly through the booking process and during our stay. We didn't have much to do in the area since the weather was still cold, but it was so worth it. Loved our time here! We first heard about Ledges while staying at nearby Milford, PA. Tucked on the side of town along a small river, Ledges Hotel was converted from a glass factory to a hotel and restaurant. I *love* how they integrated their outdoor patio space with the babbling mini-waterfall out behind the hotel. A few things to keep in mind: - Sophie at the front desk is awesome!! She was so friendly and helpful with info on things to do around town. - It's important to get a good room. Most of the rooms downstairs were not that appealing (too small, faced the parking lot, no privacy). The two-story rooms upstairs are totally worth the splurge. - Food at the restaurant is good but not great. Atmosphere was better than the food. Though, I do admire their efforts to cook seasonally. - Get vouchers ($12 per person) for breakfast at their sister hotel, the Settlers' Inn. Smoked trout and eggs! - There's not much to do in Hawley, PA. The main activity I recommend is chilling out on the top deck at Ledges (rocking chairs!). When you're ready for a break from that, you can go check out the old silk mill or go bike-riding. A short walk up a hill from Ledges, the old mill is a mix of shops, a gym and offices. The coffee shop and the grocery store were my faves there. The other cool thing was that Hawley has a bike share program. It's free, and the program just started so the bikes are pretty new. You can pick up bikes at Ledges or the Settlers' Inn. read more

The best thing about the The Ledges Hotel is the beautiful river and the history of the mill. The rooms are very clean and modern. Unfortunately the hospitality is not so good. Went to the ledges restaurant last night. Worst experience ever. Sat on my chair and it broke apart and I fell to the ground. Only the woman who sat us came to see if I was ok. No one from management. The service was awful. All we did was wait for what we needed. The check reflected a COMP of $26. No explanation from anyone. As I write this I am sore and angry that this was not properly handled. All it takes is a kind word and and an apology. I gave them one star for the water folks who kept our glasses full! read more
