This was the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten in my life. I was so optimistic because everybody was Chinese and barely spoke English. The menu looks great. We ordered takeout. The chicken with broccoli may as well have been called soup. I have never seen anything like it in my life. I got the beef with string beans. I'm not sure what protein they gave me because it was indistinguishable. The string beans were fibrous and hard. Totally flavorless. While I was waiting for my food I asked for a glass of water. I was asked if I wanted to drink it there or to go so I said to go. They said $.50. I told him I had just spent almost $50 and they were going to charge me $.50 for water. Shame on them. I now understand why however because once you eat their food you will never ever ever ever go back. I've got to make their profit in that water. The restaurant has declined greatly over the years. It is filthy. The walls are dirty and dusty. The carpets are filthy and smell foul. The food is substandard and not fresh. The people that work there are very friendly and sweet, but the food is just not good at all. The bathrooms are always messy and dirty. There is absolutely nothing I've ever eaten on that buffet line that I'd recommend or purposefully go back to eat. You'd be better served buying frozen PF Changs at the grocery store. read more

This is bar none, the worst Chinese food I've ever eaten. I should have read the reviews before eating here. We had the dinner buffet which was not fresh and very bland. We think the egg foo yung was made with cornmeal not egg. The service was terrible. One of the servers constantly stirred the food on the buffet to make it look appetizing. No one ever checked with us to see if everything was alright. I let the cashier know of my disappointment and got no reply. No apology, no let us make it up to you. NO NOTHING! seems like the only chinese food take out in town. We had the buffet. They had the sign of 99.8 as food inspection grade, which made me really skeptical. The temperature of the food was lukewarm - probably can get sick from it. We arrived at 7pm and most of the dishes in the buffet were not really well stocked. I guess they didn't want to overly prepare the food. t tried a bit of everything - battered shrimp was overly coated with batter, bland and was soggy, drenched in oil, same thing with sesame chicken. They had different stir fry - but all were cooked with the same sauce - overly sweet. The only good thing about this place was probably the hot and sour soup- pretty decent. Was here on a Sunday evening for the buffet, around 6PM. There were about 20 entrees to choose - sweet and sour, white and fried rice, crab rangoon, egg foo-young, pineapple chicken, coconut shrimp, green beans, sweet potatoes, orange chicken, ribs, ... 3 soups, salads, and about 8 desserts, including longan (Dragon eye), banana pudding, macroons, and more. Lee garden's lunch buffet is similar to playing Russian roulette with you're stomach.

Only 10 dollars,however, the food was over the price. Worth to try. This is the only Chinese restaurant around there. I think it is a good place to get some food after a long day drive. My wife and I just love this place. read more

Not bad food. Not the widest selection in the bufett, but always pretty fresh Friendly staff and management always make me feel welcome.

The food being served at the buffet tasted as if it had been sitting out all day. Not in metal containers in hot water. The soup was cold. This is no doubt a "food bacteria heaven". We have eaten here over the years whenever in Cherokee but no more. This restaurant must have changed hands. Later on that day we both started filling below par. Spent the rest of day either in the bathroom or sleeping. After we got back home I contacted the Jackson Co. Health Dept. at 825-586-8994. Told them what had happen. They did go to the restaurant and checked things out. Called back and said everything was just fine. Somethings not right there. maybe a pay off. read more

My friend and I were in Cherokee for the week of October 6, 2013. We took my son ( Bryson City Police Chief) , my grandson, his wife and great grandchildren there for dinner on Thursday, Oct 10th. We were there at 6:30. Buffet had a good variety.But.. Won ton soup had hot spice in it. But...so did fried rice, all the beef , chicken and vegetabe dishes.. The fried shrimp were over cooked. The sweet and sour chicken had small dried out pieces of chicken with a large amount of breading. We just kept trying different dishes and couldn't find anything that didn't have hot pepper in it. Except--the dessert. The children could hardly eat any of it. I questiond why all the hot pepper and they claimed it was not. Only had signs for 2 dishes that were "hot". General Tso Chicken and one other. IT WAS ALL SPICY. The food was warm. Definetly not the 140 degree holding temp which it should be. Everyone got sick . Price was good but not worth the $ 8.95. If you want good buffet go to Granny's Kitchen. Price about the same. Want Asain food? Go to the restaurant in Bryson city.Just a few miles down the road. Well worth the drive.
