I have been coming here now for over 2 years and I'm sad to say that it is time for me to move on. But before I leave, I must recommend this place out of all the places I have every been. I have always done my own eyebrows, and then progressed to getting them done. Over the years I've always thought that I and they did an outstanding job, until I looked backed on my eyebrows from the past and compared them to now. The difference is unspeakable! When I first moved to Columbia, SC the first place I went to get my eyebrows done is fairly close to this location and I won't put them on blast, but when I told you they jacked my eyebrows all the way up...it was worse than when I use to do them and jacked them up. So same day within minutes, I came here and seen a young lady who specializes in not only nails, but eyebrows as well. I came here and said, "I just got my eyebrows done and they messed them up can you fix them"? Listen when I tell you she had work to do, she laid me on the table and went to work. I didn't think she could do it. But when she gave me the mirror and sat me up, Lord have mercy...they looked perfect! No exaggeration. Her name is Kayla. We had small conversations throughout the 2 years of me going there. She pays attention to detail, something I have not seen in a very long time. So I think I actually came to the wrong salon by accident, but I decided to try the place out anyway. I got a soak off and the owner convinced me to try the SNS Dip Set instead of an Acrylic Overlay. The process was fairly quick so I liked that BUT he dipped my fingers into the packaged product instead of using a separate dish just for me, so I won't be returning. Depending on how long this lasts, I may get the service again somewhere else. There was only one person available to do nails and two people doing feet so the service was really slow. I was a little skeptical about trying this salon because I am used to bigger salons. But don't be my time at this salon was absolutely worth every penny. The staff was very nice and accommodating. They went as far as matching the exact color I came in for. I received a pedicure and I received the works, a foot scrub, massage, and the nail tech removed the Calais from my feet. The owners are always yelling back and forth at each other and their kids are milling around too. They are often loud as well. Great experience! I've been here a couple times before and I have had good experiences each time! Thomas did my nails and always made sure I got what I wanted and needed. He had great attention to detail and made sure my experience was good. I didn't have to wait at all which was great, I guess I went at a good time (11 am on a Tuesday). Prices are normal, I paid $45 before the tip for a full set of gel acrylic nails. Good color options too! Would definitely recommend here, specifically Thomas. This was the place I went for the first time ever getting my nails done. I chose it because of the location and they have been voted Best Nail Salon by the Free Times contest several years. I like this salon because it is small, the owners are nice & remember their customers, and it is family owned & operated. I've only been to one other place when Lee Nails was closed & I didn't like it as much. I really love that my nails are never sore afterwards (they were from the other place) & Thomas works fairly quickly, like he has a lot of experience. I'm always pleased with the result. Price is a little high, but the nails last ~3 weeks. I always call ahead and I have yet to wait longer than 15 mins before being seated & a full set takes about an hour. I only ever come here because it is close to my house on post but every time I do I get the worst service possible. The owners are constantly yelling at their kid in the back or at each other so it makes it very hard to relax. I don't like having the massage chair on during my pedicure because it hurts my back but every time I turn it off they turn it back on. No biggie. But what upsets me is that I am paying for a service that I expect to be done to at least minimal standard and it never is. I got a gel manicure two days ago and the polish is uneven, does not even cover the tips of my nails, is near transparent because of how streaky she painted them, and already chipping off. The same with my pedicure. I was charged $70 and I would say this is $15 work for both combined. No massage with mani/pedi either, which is disappointing since I get to actually treat myself for a mani/pedi every so often due to being a full time mother. Very disappointing to spend money on such crap service. Definitely won't be coming here anymore even though it's close and convenient. read more

I made an Appt with Thomas a week prior, when I showed up he had someone else to do my nails. The young Lady did a horrible Job. I spent $90 getting my daughter and I nails done. I just went today I went to get my acrylics done. While the guy was working on my nails he was watching tv so a bunch of my nails came out crooked. Afterwards when he was pushing back my cuticles he over exceeded it and when he put on nail polish if burned. He left a whole bunch of powder on my fingers and when he put one coat of the color I chose I noticed that it was too light so I asked him if I could just put a darker color on top and he said no it would ruin the nails.He told me it would be only $25 and I'm reality it was $30. I went in on a Monday afternoon when I had a four hour break from staying with my grandmother at the hospital. There was one person ahead of me and the wait was 45 minutes because the only had two people working. They did not tell me it would be that long. I should have left when the man doing pedicures told the client before me"bad day. I'm doing the best I can." He spent very little time on my feet and did not do a good job. He did not even lotion on my calves or give any kind of massage. The hot towel was on my legs a max of two minutes. When I asked about the massage, he said they do not do massages because he is certified as a nail tech, not certified in massage. He said other places massage "just to make you happy." Hellloooo....if you want people to come back, make them happy. Then, for my manicure, I had to ask him to clean under my nails after I washed my hands. He also left my thumbnail looking almost fuzzy and I had to ask him to correct that. He did a poor job on the cuticles, which were long over due for attention. He never put lotion on my hands or arms. The polish he used for clear coat only was flaking off four hours later (and I was just hanging out at the hanging out at the hospital.) As he was finishing my nails, I discovered the reason for his haste was that he needed to go pick up his child. So...be honest with your clients. I do not recommend 5424 Forest Drive Ste 104 in Columbia SC 29206. The owner sets the tone and he does not stand behind his service. I paid for jel polish which should last longer than one week. My polish only lasted for 3 days and then it lifted off my nails. I could literally remove all polish as if they were press on nails. The owner failed to fix my nails and then hung up the telephone on me and said, you lifted nails I will not fix. Duh, if you had applied the service correctly I couldn't lift the polish because it would require a soak process. Stay away from this salon and go to Lee Nails on Two- Notch Road, the owner cares about all of his customers and not a select few. SMH read more

Horrible experience here. My daughter and I went here to get our nails and feet done. The first rime we went the lady that did my nails was O.K.. However, the second time we went I got a guy and my daughter got the same guy she had before, both of them were horrible! Our nails started chipping, peeling, and one of mine broke completely off. I have been getting my nails done for years in many different states and I have never had this happen before with gel nails! I would also like to add we had an appointment, we arrived 15 minutes early. They were about to take us since they were not busy. Then, two woman walk in that had an appointment, but they were 30 minutes late. The guy who did my nails said "You have seat, they have appointment".
