First, Veronica is a marvel of efficiency and can make appointment magic happen with a smile. Albert the hygienist was gentle and reassuring and skilled. The 3d scan he took was a nice new feature. Dr. Sera was super nice at the consult and then fixed a filling the other dentist did. It is now smooth and solid instead of lumpy and flaking off. I didn't know that was a standard I had to look for, but turns out, it can be bad. Dr. Sera is fabulous. 10/10 recommend. read more

Do you forget to floss in between your teeth like I do? Kidding...kidding... My teeth are fabulous. And guess what doctor Sera's staff they are fabulous as too! I have a difficult time going to the dentist because I am always scared. If you've seen the movie "Marathon man" then you probly know what I'm talking about, the words "is it safe" go through my mind all the time. And No, I do not find videos of ASMR fake dental whispering relaxing even if they do roleplaying as dentists doing work. Yet, when I come in for a cleaning. Or a filling...or anything else... I am safe to be in the hands of a conservative and kind dentist is very gentle to my mouth. From the staff to the tech to help make the most of your visits they keep current and take care from the moment you walk in the door. As a 10 year customer, I have only had excellent experiences that always make me feel cared for and important. If you're in need of a great dentist, become one of Dr Sera's patients. It starts off with one of the best receptionist we have had to deal with, Veronica. She's handles all the insurance stuff. Very friendly and professional. We have had a couple of different hygienist since becoming patients. All of them have been great. Then again maybe we just take care of our teeth to make their jobs easier :))) Dr Sera is very friendly and professional. Luckily I have not needed any major work done. The first time I went to Dr. Leeanne Sera, over 10 years ago, I had been so traumatized by horrible dentists that my mouth was a mess. A friend told me, "you GO! You will LOVE her!" So I did, chewing my nails and nearly turning the car around. I don't even want to tell you how great she is--how smart, how kind, how brilliant she is as a dentist. I actually look FORWARD to going to get my teeth worked on, and we're talking some pretty heavy-duty stuff--new crowns, some reconstruction, there was even a nasty root canal in there--but it was painless and so well done. She's the best. You'll know it, immediately. My mouth looks great. Every person I've ever referred to her has stayed, happily. We all gush over how lucky we are to have found her in the first place. This practice is a jewel: a DIAMOND. What a fabulous office ! Friendly two hand shakes, look warmly in the eye, real people who like each other, patients who have been with this practice for over 50 years, knows insurance...it's that kind of OFFICE. A coworker referred me to Dr. Sera's office when I first moved to the Bay Area, and I'm so glad she did! I went to them for about 2 1/2 years, until I moved out of CA. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Sera and her staff. When I first started going to her office, I discussed orthodontics with them, and Dr. Sera recommended Invisalign as a relatively painless and unobtrusive method. She had been recently certified on it, and both she and her hygienist, Audrey, had also done Invisalign themselves, so that helped to convince me. Dr. Sera was very good at scheduling regular follow-up appointments to make sure I was using and taking care of the Invisalign trays correctly, that they fit well, etc. I'm very happy with the results. They also did a filling for me, and of course regular cleanings. Denise, who takes care of all their admin stuff, always scheduled my next cleaning at the end of my appointments, so I never had to call to do so. Denise also always took care of my insurance with hardly any effort on my part, so I never had to stay after an appointment was finished to take care of paperwork. I was also impressed with the level of technology at their office, given that Dr. Sera's practice is pretty small. (As a disclaimer, though, before going to Dr. Sera, it had been a while since I'd last gone to a dentist.) They had digital X-rays, so when I left California, they were able to print out my X-rays right there and give them to me to take to my next dentist. During my cleanings, they would sometimes use ultrasonic equipment -- painless and efficient. Finally, Dr. Sera and her staff were so nice, professional, and seemed to genuinely care about their patients. They'd always chat with me about how my life and job were going. When my then-significant other and I went on a vacation to Hawaii, Dr. Sera (who has family and grew up there) gave me plenty of recommendations for things to do and places to eat. When I came back from Hawaii -- engaged! -- the whole office was excited for me. When I got married (having moved out of the Bay Area several months before), I sent them a card and a wedding picture. My husband made fun of me for it ("Who sends cards to their former dentist?"), but I think the fact that I felt compelled to do so is testimony to how awesome they are. read more

I have been going to Dr. Sera(s) since I was a little kid. As a child I saw Dr. Sera SR. now I see Dr. Leanne. I hear stories all the time about how people hate the dentist. They dread going-put appointments off until they have a tooth hurt so bad they NEED to go. Well not me! Same as her dad Dr. Leanne is awesome. It is fun going to the dentist. Great experience so far. Dr. Sera is kind, considerate, takes time to explain what she sees on her exam as well as the rational behind her recommendations. Never feel pressured or rushed. The staff is also very kind and very helpful even to the point of helping watch my 3-month old while getting a check-up. I like the vibe of the place. I've never had to wait any unreasonable amount of time either before or during appointments. Dr. Spencer seems equally nice though I have less experience with him. Dr. Sera is simply the best. Prior to going to Dr. Sera, I had my tooth filled with another dentist; and at that time, I was happy with the result. But I realized something was terribly wrong when I started to have an excruciating pain in my tooth and gum that developed right after the procedure and lasted me for more than a year untill I saw Dr. Sera. Without giving too much gory details about my F* up tooth... I had such a pain in my tooth which no pain reduction method helped. I tried to put a numbing gel and even crushed pain killers to put on my gum but nothing worked. I had to crush this poo-tasting herbal medicine from Japan to numb my gum from this pain which felt like some psycho was stabbing my gum with a steak knife. I couldn't eat, I couldn't sleep. When I went to re-visit the dentist who did my tooth, she said "there's nothing you could do about it". Gradually, the pain increased and I felt quite powerless over the situation. It got to the point where I couldn't stand to be in this anymore and finally asked my friends to recommend me their dentists so I could seek help. Any help would suffice!!! One of my friends recommended Dr. Sera highly and I deiced to give them a call. To cut the story short, when Dr. Sera saw the problem tooth, she knew exactly what was wrong and she pointed out that it was because of the bad filling, ( bad job done by the previous dentist which was causing this - she didn't put the other dentist down by saying that deliberately but basically that's what it was ) and she would be able to fix it. I was skeptical at first to believe that somehow, the pain I felt I was doomed for rest of my life would get fixed that quickly but my gut feeling told me to trust Dr. Sera. So I did. She fixed it and now I am pain free. I haven't had any pain since that procedure! She is also really nice, and professional. Her assistant Audrey is super nice too. read more

I love Dr. Sera! We were referred to her by a friend and she is wonderful - super knowledgeable, friendly, and really approachable. Her office admin, Denise, is also always very friendly and professional. Great organization - so far, no mishaps of any kind. I've never had a dentist who had their dental hygienists do the cleaning (my previous dentist always did it himself), so this was a new experience for me - but they ALL do a great job, and Dr. Sera always comes in and does a really thorough examination after the cleaning. She has also helped with several issues with my teeth that my previous dentist never noticed and its so much better. I had an old filling redone by her as well, and while that is never a fun experience, it really wasn't too bad. The office is small, but clean and simple. The location is a little tucked away but not hidden so once you know where it is, it's easy to get to. When it comes to costs, dental insurance is so variable, and very different from medical insurance, so it really depends on your insurance company and plan. Dr. Sera and her staff are fantastic all around, and I highly recommend them. read more

I've been going to Dr Sera for years. She and her staff are always cheerful and it is a pleasant and welcoming space. She keeps up on all the latest technology. I appreciate that she involves you in decisions and doesn't do procedures just for making her revenue. For example she might say, your old filling has some micro cracks. You'll probably need it replaced in a few years, let's put a watch on it and note to follow it. I'm a new patient at Dr. Sera's practice. Recently, I went to see Dr. Robert Yee, a colleague of Dr. Sera, for a second opinion on an existing bridge. He offered options, such as implant, which were not mentioned by my previous dentist. The office, albeit small, has high tech equipments such digital x-ray machines, so that you can view the images immediately, and re-take as necessary. Dr. Yee and Dr. Sera work exceptionally well together so I ended up getting expert opinions from both dentists. In the end a minor filling was done on my bridge, which postponed the major work (replacement bridge or implant) for many years and also saved me quite a bit of money. The staff at the office is also very friendly and professional. I would highly recommend this place if you're new to the area, are unsatisfied with your existing dentist, or if you just need a second opinion. read more

I'm a new patient at this dental office and let me just say I found the right one.. I had one of my molar tooth crack in half. I had been in pain for a couple of days and I couldn't handle the pain anyone so I called Dr Serra's office and they were able to see me the same day. Veronica the front office assistant is really nice. She was able to squeeze me in to see Dr. Dr Serra is was able to take a look at my tooth and recommended I see a specialist to extract the tooth and in the meantime prescribe medication for the pain..
