I recently became aware of what has been happening with Dr. Ramakumar's dental practices, and honestly, I am shocked and disappointed. From what I have learned, the company has gone through bankruptcy proceedings, multiple locations have closed, and employees and doctors have reportedly been left waiting for compensation for work they already performed. Hearing that people who dedicated years to these practices may not have been paid is extremely concerning. What is especially concerning is the impact this situation has had on the doctors, assistants, hygienists, front-office staff, and other employees who depend on their jobs to support their families. I hope Dr. Ramakumar takes responsibility for the situation and that the employees and doctors who are owed money receive the compensation they earned. This is a serious situation, and people deserve transparency. These are not just numbers on a spreadsheet. These are hardworking people with mortgages, rent, children, and bills. This place has really gone downhill since my initial review. They've rescheduled cleaning multiple times at the last minute, the last one being at the beginning of August. I've also tried to call and reschedule for 3 weeks. One number is most likely no longer connected, as it just keeps beeping, and the other rings and goes to voicemail, and then the automated text saying we'll get back to you is received, but no one ever gets back. Went to their other location (Accudental in blossom hill) and that was closed too. Have tried calling them multiple times at different times of the day since and still have not gotten any response. Dental and Implant I had the worst dental service experience with Northern Dental on 122 Saratoga Ave. They literally scam me to get an implant and rushed me to extract 4 of my front upper teeth and ruin my life and my credit score. i very very rarely leave reviews but this medical practice should be investigated immediately. I haven't seen a dentist in years and now that I had insurance I decided to finally see one. This one was closest to me and seemed GTG. I came in and all I did was x rays, they said they will schedule a cleaning and inspection in a followup appointment. OK, I thought they were usually done in the same appointment but i guess they did things differently. This is where the grift starts. The dentist comes in and says oh you have deep pockets and as you can see you have deep tartar under the gum line. She showed me the xrays and tried to explain but TBH to me it all looked the same to me, but since I am uneducated in this matter I shut up and let the professional speak. I then tell her its been a few years since I saw a dentist. Then she tells me ok let's schedule your followup appointment but you need to do a deep cleaning over two appointments. After that I will schedule a more thorough inspection of your teeth then schedule followup appointments for regular cleanings. Like a normal person I grew up listening to medical professionals, so I agree and she shows me a quote - $3,000 without insurance but with insurance I'd still need to pay $900. I agreed. Also right before this consultation she seemingly was in the room NEXT TO MINE trying to sell a cleaning to another patient. Wow, just fuckin wow. I don't think much of it until i start asking Chat GPT how much this should cost and it said roughly $1600 at most for this procedure. I am smart and know to always consult with professionals instead of relying on the internet. So I contact my family dentist who saw me since I was a kid, who is a little far from me to see. He said oh it's actually like $800, we have to inject your jaw with like 10 shots to numb it because we cut your gums open and scrape your teeth. Oh and it's done twice hence the two appointments. That explanation of the procedure was NEVER explained to me by this Dentist at Northern Dental. On top of that my family dentist said he'd only recommend this in extreme situations and from just talking to me it didn't sound like that. I then asked why would they charge nearly $3K for this and all he said is heh different dentists charge different prices for the same thing. That's all I can tell you. I try to ask Northern Dental to change the appointment to a regular cleaning and they pretty much refused to do so. The receptionist was probably in on the grift because without even looking at my records, she said you need this because you have deep pockets in your teeth. Then I told her I'm getting ripped off here because my family dentist said it's $800 WITHOUT insurance. She was quiet. To add on to this experience a lady in the waiting room said to me "You know they tried to do the same thing to me to." Northern Dental said we're gonna charge you $75. Top Tier Dental Office I had an appointment last week with Dr. Patel for a crown and filling, and I am usually a person that is very anxious about having dental work done, but that was not my experience at this office. After a month of waiting, they'll call you and inform you last minute asking if you completed 3 forms (that they never send prior to the appointment) and force you to do multiple consultations (before you request the consultation you were seeking). I was refused service by the receptionist, who claimed their doctor wasn't in my insurance network--despite the fact that my insurance specifically referred me to him as an in-network provider. When I called to speak with a manager about this misleading and frustrating experience, the receptionist wouldn't even let me explain. She kept interrupting and repeatedly asked if I was a patient, completely disregarding the purpose of my call. The level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. To be honest, I've been a patient with Northern Dental for 15 years. I stayed due to the convenience and prior to them being bought out, their cost was affordable. Despite being recently bought from another company the practices remain; poor customer service, astronomically long wait times, shotty work, and a high turnover with staff. Most recently, I've had two appointments where I showed up on time, and had to wait more than an hour to be seen. (I get having to wait 10-20 mins, but an hour?!!!) then was told "they will email your quote" umm wtf?! At this rate, I'm so over it, their lack of attention to customer service, including staying on schedule for patients that attend on time, should really be evaluated by upper management. The cost of procedures have almost doubled than what it was before, so it makes zero sense to return, because what am I paying for?! I'd rather find a dentist that not only values my business but also my time. I left two stars simply because I was a customer for so long and I've had decent appointments- they weren't all bad. But my overall experience hasn't been a positive one. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!! I had a very painful experience that dragged on over 3 months and 12+ appointments. I filed a grievance with my insurance and the office owes me over $1100 in extraneous charges, but they won't pay me back. Dr. Shinde did two onlays on my back top molars. Long story short, the temporaries each came off 3-4 times, and the permanents each came off at least once. I had to go back to their office each time to get them put back on. I thought the permanents would solve the issue, but they didn't. The onlays themselves were not made well. I could feel sharp edges and my bite was off, even after having Dr. Shinde "perfect" my bite. I had enough when she put one of my permanent onlays on in a way that agitated my nerve, so it hurt to eat for a month+ after. I finally ended up going to another dentist, who told me that they would NEVER put onlays on back molars because there's too much biting force. They did proper crowns and I haven't had any issues with them. Take caution if you go here. You may end up getting overcharged and given the wrong treament. read more

Sorry in advance for the overly long review but I have had too many negative experiences with this office and am finally calling it quits. I first started coming here when my family relocated from Manteca 2.5 years ago. My children all had regular dentist follow ups every six months and there were no concerns. Upon my oldest son's first appointment at this office, the dentist was overly pushy about him needing braces because of overcrowding in his mouth. She said it was urgent and needed to be taken care of asap. I thought this was odd, because at my son's last check-up; his former dentist made a point to tell me my son had some spacing between his teeth that could be corrected for cosmetic purposes, but braces were not necessary. This new dentist was so incredibly rude, however, and continued to twist my arm. There is an orthodontist office on the first floor of the building and it made me feel like it could even be a kickback situation. Fast forward to this past Friday, I had my regularly scheduled cleaning and the hygienist was so nice. I had x rays with a kind technician and was brought to a room to wait for the dentist. She walked in, literally poked my two back teeth and said "cavity here and cavity here, take a picture and show her" and waltzed out in under one minute. Her assistant took the pics of the offending teeth and showed me. Of course, I am not a dentist, so I did not argue. I scheduled my appointment for fillings and moved on with my day. Well, I just returned from the office for my fillings and all I can say is what an epic waste of my time! I was scheduled with a different dentist (which I was lowkey happy about to be honest). Immediately when I was called back, he commented that he prefers not to treat other dentist's patients and asked me if that was my preference as well. I told him working around my schedule is more important to me and I am happy to work with whomever is available. He proceeds to ask me to open my mouth so he can apply the jelly, and immediately looks puzzled. He told me he would be back in a moment. He returned and examined my teeth again, and left. Soon the lady (who also is very nice) who scheduled my appointment came in and apologized profusely and told me this dentist will not be able to treat me today. She accepted all the blame, but I just found the interaction so odd. I think I'm going to go to a different dentist office to get a second opinion on my cavities. Something just isn't sitting right with me. I will definitely come back for an update. read more

I said okay, can you please find me on the Aetna network? they said "No, again you have to call the number". I said peace-out! Went to Well Being Dentistry down the road and asked if they can use my card to find my insurance. They said yes, please wait 5 minutes. 5 minutes later I had an appointment for next Tuesday! the people there do not care if you wait for the dentist, dental assistant, or anyone esle that works there. they clain that if your isurance pays for anything, i.e. xrays, they do cot belong to you. I tried to get a copy emailed and was charged $15.00 and told it wiuld take 7 to 15 days as a lot of people are requesting theirs also. this oofce charges insurance and you for all services. this is double billing! the office is very old and I have seen insects crawling on the walls. the building is NOT ADA compliant sio I have a very hard time climbing the stairs. my advice is to keep looking for a reliable dental office! read more
