Since new ownership, we've tried several times to dine there, seems to be closed quite a bit outside of the hours posted (they close for part of the day), but still closed at posted open times. We actually made it once to an open Lee's and the fountain drink station was literally out of each flavor, this was after selling the cup, then offered a can of soda (kind of defeats the purpose of the free refills) Tried ordering one item, they were out of it. Tried another, also out! so I ask, "what DO you have available?" Food was OK, but the original ambience of Lees we grew to enjoy over the years was all but gone. Oh my goodness! Just had a delicious 4-napkin burger, onion rings and fried okra for the sides. The bun was grill-toasted, 1/3 pound juicy beef (seemed bigger), melted cheese, and piled high with fresh veggies! Also, my burger was wrapped in the quintessential red and white checked wrapper. As you walk up to the register, the grease/mold all over the "kitchen" area is hard to miss... thought I'd give 'em another try out of convenience-Ordered 2 pizzas (1cheese/1pep) thinking it would be hard to mess that up. No frills here, just good food in an established business on the way to Pace Bend Park. Lee's was started by Lee (RIP) and continued by his wife and family; and sold within the last years to another party. I came here for breakfast several years ago after way to many beers the night before out at the lake. If this scenario sounds familiar; Lee's can be heaven on a plate at 9am. We drove in yesterday after picking up dad from his fishing excursion just down the road. The overall feel hasn't changed a bit; with Spuds Mackenzie still keeping watch over the inside crowd. We ordered burgers, fries, onion rings, and a grilled cheese for the kiddo. My Lee double meat, double cheese, and fresh jalapenos was good. Your like Rooster; you gotta watch your calorie intake at your age. In my defense it had a wheat bun so there! Dad had the smaller version of dubbed the little Lee. Fries, onion rings, ranch mixed with chipotle tabasco, and little Rooster's grilled cheese made the grade. They are now sporting pizza and gyros on the menu which was a change from the previous visit. Overall, this is a good place on the side of the road (Almost by the Lake) for your dining pleasure. I went to Lee's recently for the first time in forever and was charged nearly $18 for a cheeseburger, sweet potato fries, and a drink. The cheeseburger was dry and fries were half burnt. It's one thing to eat in a dingy hole in the wall if the food is great and cheap, but not acceptable for what I ate and paid. Hopefully this place returns to its old glory because I'd love the old Lee's back. read more

We went for the o-rings, and they were plentiful, but tasted a little over-cooked (aka burnt) and like they were restaurant frozen food. Sigh.
