I found Lee's in the morning, called, and while Mr. Lee could not give me a definite diagnosis or approximate time, I felt assured that he would do right by me. I am absolutely thrilled by his service, how he has taken measurements to sanitize and protect his customers as well as his workplace, and would absolutely recommend them to anybody in the area. I am so fortunate that I found this man and his business today because I'm back in my car with no issues. Edit- my radiator cracked! The smoke was steaming. I read what horrible things could end up happening to my car. It's a 2000 model but only 230,000 miles! About a year ago I came in for an oil change and to replace one of my windshield wipers. Spencer told me to come back a few times because he was too busy. Fair enough - we had been taking both of our cars here for oil changes over the course of a few years so he recognized me as a repeat customer and I didn't mind returning when he could complete the job in a reasonable amount of time while I waited with my toddler. After he finally was able to work on my car, he shows me the replacement windshield wiper in its packaging and puts it on my car. At the time he was charging $34 for oil changes (I'm sure this price has gone up more recently with gas prices and inflation). He tells me my total is $110!!! I look at him surprisingly and ask why my bill is $110? He says the new windshield wiper is $60. I have no idea why he thought I would want a $60 windshield (which by the way ended up leaving streaks on my windshield not long after installing). Also the math doesn't add up - $60 for windshield, $34 for oil change and what about that $16 that is a mystery?? Labor for replacing a windshield wiper that takes less than a minute?? I told him I expected the windshield wiper to cost around $20-30 (as most no frills windshield wipers cost) and he said this one was very good quality. He definitely should have asked me first if I wanted to spend an extra $74 for a windshield wiper before installing on my car. Never returned again after feeling like I got ripped off! read more

I took my car in last week to get brakes and rotors done. They replaced with no issue but about a week later my tires started knocking. I took back to them reported the issue and was told they don't balance tires and was not their fault. I had to take to another tire shop in town to fix the issue that they created. My lug nuts were put on almost hand tight and had to get my tires re-balanced. Would not recommend, they have terrible customer service, and questionable technical skills. read more

Had an oil leak which the mechanic at Lee's diagnosed correctly. It was a rear main seal which was replaced but after the fix it was still leaking and a bolt was left unscrewed under my car. After bringing it back in to fix the bolt they saw the persisting leak but didn't point it out. I decided to go to another shop where there was a bit more communication, skill and technical abilities with repairs. Not a bad experience, but be wary for larger repairs here. read more

AC problems, was recommended by a friend to go here, and I gotta say, my experience told me that they are very honest, Came in without an appointment, told Spencer my problem and he had me pull right in, and they started trouble shooting. And said I needed a part, so i left the car with them,... So i get a call and he says its bad news and says its electrical or your computer and we don't do that, my immediate thought was oh crap im paying for some parts and labor and the car isn't fixed.. so i get there and he recommends me to another shop and says, we took the new parts out since you didn't need them and there's no charge. Spencer has been helping me out for the past couple of years and as long as I live in the LA area, I will keep coming back. I have an older car and due to shoddy mechanics from elsewhere, I keep having to fix things that were already "fixed" or "repaired". I found Lee's when my engine was leaking. Other mechanics tried to lie to me and tell me the leak has to do the the fuse!/electronics! (Wtf?!) I left immediately and found Lee's Auto Services. And I'm glad I did cause it turns out the prior mechanic didn't bother to change a gasket when they did the timing belt. (It's a long story) After this incident, I'd bring my car here when I had any of my car issues. They advertise smog checks and oil changes (decently priced, see photo for prices!) but they also do repairs. Recently the old couple who owned the shop has retired and now Spencer owns the shop. Every time I come to Lee's, I never doubt their workmanship nor will they try to overcharge for their services. (This is in comparison to other mechanics I've gotten quotes from and work done at.) There is no lying, upselling and it is straight to the issue. Another perk is that they're open on Saturdays! Sad I have to write this review after going here several times in the last TWO YEARS with excellent service but the lack of care and responsibility that this garage was willing to take is unacceptable. Went to drop my car off for the standard oil change that I've gotten done every time by Spencer. I know that's his name cause he's called me to pick up my car and his name is on his shirt. I went to pick up my car after it's oil change upon getting into my vehicle and attempting to start the car I could feel that the ignition was not right and the the vehicle wouldn't start at all. After several attempts I finally got out and got Spencer over to look at it and he couldn't tell me what happened. I explained to him something had to have transpired during the time the vehicle was in his possession because when I dropped it off everything was working fine. He got on the defense and didn't take ownership for what either he or someone else did to the ignition. At this point I'm stuck and I have to leave my car here so they can try to fix it. Next day he calls me to come look at the broken part (already knew it was broken hence the car not starting) and he says that it was coincidental. I argue that it wasn't and that they had to have jerked the key either in or out of the ignition. Tells me they can fix it but for $260 and I might need to get key reprogrammed for $150 and that he wouldn't have the car ready till 5:30 leaving me another full day without a car. Told him that wasn't right and he didn't like it. We had a verbal exchange and nothing was solved. I ended up buying the part FROM MY OWN POCKET and then they "didn't charge labor" for the fix. IT WAS YOUR FAULT I SHOULDNT HAVE BEEN CHARGED ANYTHING. Had Spencer come at me professionally the first time all of this could've been avoided. He didn't offer any solution from the start he didn't even take ownership that they broke it. Instead he tried to blame me. Way to go Spencer. You lost a customer. Beware taking your vehicle here and leaving it unsupervised. Shady. read more
