Suspension is the first thing I have adjusted when I buy a new or new to me bike. This is one of the shops that I frequent for suspension and work on my bikes. Jeremy Toye has set up the suspension on my 2010 BMW S1000RR with lighter fork springs and all. When I sold that bike I had him adjust the suspension on my 2015 BMW S1000RR, a friend's 2012 Ducati Panigale, my 2015 Husqvarna FE350, my 2013 Suzuki DRZ400SM, and my old 2005 Yamaha R1. I'm very happy with the work they did on my bike. Other shops weren't interested in working on my 1988 yamaha xt 600 since its on the older side and doesn't look that great. I like the bike though and knew it needed some attention and that's what they did, full service tune up including rebuilding the carburetor. Pros: Bike runs way smother and stronger than it used to. Called Lees and asked if they could flash my ECU. Quinten said they did and asked him to order the program GEN 2 for Super Tenere. Quinten reported that he had done a few. Then " one from europe." They didn't have a plug. After waiting 2 hr. for them to try to gerry rig a plug I asked for my ECU module back and left unhappy. I've been dreading this review, but it has to be done. First off, avoid this store like the plague. I took my 2004 V Star 1100 here for a carb rebuild. First thing I asked, can you do it for under $500. And that's where the lies started. Initial quote was $480 for the work, which involved replacing a ring and a gasket, an overnight soak, and an adjustment. I was stoked. They asked when the last service was completed, told them it had been a while. They offered to do a tune up, and a valve adjustment, and the total bid was just under $550. Not a bad deal to me, sign me up! Then they said they didn't have the parts in and would have to order them. No problems, I can't drop my bike off until after the weekend anyways, so I asked them to order the parts. No problem, they said. Drop it off Monday, you can pick it up Wednesday, they said. I was super stoked. Dropped off Monday, called Wednesday afternoon. They still didn't have the parts they said they had ordered last Thursday, but they should be in later this afternoon, we should have your bike ready tomorrow evening. Alright, I say, that's not an issue. Call Thursday afternoon, bike won't be ready until Monday, shipment is delayed. Well, that sucks, I was looking forward to a weekend ride. Not really anything I can do though, they tell me that the bike is taken apart. Call Monday, again. Still don't have the parts, sorry, we'll call you when we do. Uh, no, you have my transportation, I'll be checking in on you, thank you very much. Finally get the bike back on Thursday, a full 2 weeks after they said they placed the order, and a full week and more after they said I could get my bike back initially. And that's just the beginning. Walk into their shop to get my bike, expecting to pay just under $550, like we had agreed. They tell me it's gonna be $650. Uh, no, my quote was over $100 less than that. He pulls the quote and says it was done wrong, the bill is actually $650. Now I'm pissed. I was not happy before, but you're just adding insult to injury at this point. I also figure if I don't pay, they aren't gonna give me my bike back. I pay, my bike is more important than this stoner in front of me at this point. They wheel my bike out front, I jump on and go, I'm so done with this place. Get home 10 minutes later confused as hell. My bike sounds AWFUL. Where there used to be a sweet, throaty purr, there is now a tackity-clicky noise that sounds like my bike is about to fall apart. WTF! Put it in first and away I go, back to that damn shop. Pull up an let them know something really, really isn't right. "Sounds fine to me bro..." Seriously? Do I look like I'm stupid? The mechanic comes out and tells me, after 5 minutes of bitching, that I've got an old bike, the valves were way off, and this is just how it is now. That's not acceptable to me, and I let them know that. And he retorts with "Well, I can do a valve job, but it's gonna be about two grand." Catch that? After charging me $100 more than my quote to break my bike worse than it was when I brought it in, they want to charge me TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS to fix something THAT WASN'T BROKEN when I brought it to them. Jumped on my bike and peaced out, screw these guys. The next day, I was out of gas. I thought that was weird, because I had a full tank right before I brought it in, but no, got it to the gas station and it took a full 5 gallons. I've since spoken to other shops about all of this. Most of them wouldn't have removed the gas. The few that would have said they'd have stored it and put it all back, it's my gas after all. The next day my rear brakes failed. I wasn't even aware they were low, as they had just been replaced less than a year ago. Changed my brakes, and the pads were completely gone. Did I expect Lee's to replace my brakes? No. Did I expect them to inform me about any hazardous conditions? You bet your ass. Fast forward a few weeks, I bring my bike to a shop out in El Cajon. Ask them about the click. It's valves, give us till tomorrow and we'll have it fixed, gonna be about $200. Fine, that's cool, I just need this done. Get the bike back the next day (I was amazed), and they let me know that the adjustments that Lee's did on my valves were more than 100% off (.0004 +/-.0001 and .0006 +/- .0001 is what they were supposed to be, they were actually .0009 and .0012 respecively), as well as the wiring for my carb was routed completely wrong, and while it wasn't an issue at this time, it could be in the future with rubbing. In sum, I was overcharged, my bike was returned in worse condition than when I left it there, they wanted to charge me $2,000 for a problem that they created and was resolved for less than $200 at Motoworld in El Cajon, they stole my gasoline, and didn't do any kind of check on the overall condition of my bike. Again, I stress, avoid this shop like the plague. They do not seem to know what they are doing when it matters, and they don't seem to care about their customer read more

Changed the oil today due to my oil level light going on and off (according to lees it could be a bad sensor)and noticed even more push pins missing, cut zip ties (and just left them there, didn't even throw them away. Just left em to hang) and clutch cables routed the wrong way under the plastics. Garbage work and an awful place to take your bike. I have no idea how they are still around. Oh and oil level light was fine, they said they topped it off with oil (after the blow head gasket issue) but that was false. You're dead to me lees cycle center! read more

This place gets one star. I would give none if i could. Lee's cycle sucks! This shop takes forever to finish your bike and they will not call you to keep you updated on what is going on. I had to constantly call only to find out the part was "being delivered"- YEAH RIGHT!! for 2 o-rings??? My bike was with them for over a month. To top it off they charged me for work that I hadn't even authorized. I was initially quoted for less than $100 dollars for 2 o-rings to be ordered and replaced. I ended up paying about $250 in total because they "inspected my cooling system". They NEVER mentioned this over the dozens of phone calls - Only when it was time to pay the bill ("Quinton" assured me the amount he quoted me had not changed - I asked every time I called) Crap customer service and untrustworthy. I will be bringing my business elsewhere in the future and I urge others to do the same. I recommend Scotts motorcycle service in el cajon, Poway motorcycle, Ivan's Fast Bikes. read more

We can throw out some props to Lee's while adding some constructive criticism. They made my tuning of the SV easier by ordering jets at no markup from a local supply. Very cool. Mounted some tires with the wheel off the bike, but complained they were "heavy and hard to mount." OK, but why tell me? Brand new tires, rim off bike, you're the pros, right? Due to mostly professional and positive interaction and very convenient location, I took my bike for a dyno run there. Previous bike had a good run, tech said "it sounded awesome in the room!" Big twin, they all sound awesome. Here's the catch. Second bike, a liter bike with full mods and previous professional dyno tune, came back with the AF ratio jumped off charts at 8K RPM. Manager said "you need a full tune on this, that's crazy lean." Well, being puzzled and all by this and having such a sweet running bike day to day, I said I would keep the revs down while commuting and he agreed "that would be OK." Here we are a year later and I made some changes that needed dyno time and took it to another, less busy shop with similar pricing. He looked at the chart provided by Lee's and said "either the sniffer popped out or it was pulled out." The AF was perfect, the power was all there, and there was no spike at 8K RPM, as Lee's claimed at the time. This leaves me with two possible scenarios: one was the sniffer popped out and they really thought it was an issue, or...Either way, confirming that the run was true, or even re-doing it would have been prudent before saying "you need full mapping for $400" after such an incongruous result. I've read the plugs. The tech was able to confirm my plugs were a perfect tan. The unassailable benchmark of a good tune. Caveat Emptor. read more

Lee's Cycle Service is the only place I take my bike. They do great work. They are dependable, trustworthy and kind.

I absolutely cannot recommend these guys. I bought a used bike that had been lowered by the previous owner. Looking at the receipts, the previous owner had taken the bike to Lee's to install the lowering links and to lower the triple clamps on the front forks. Seeing as how these guys did this work previously, I figured I would take the stock link back to them to have it reinstalled and to have the front raised back to stock height. After walking in at 9am on a Saturday, I waited at the service desk for 10 minutes before anybody came to help me. They had about 4 mechanics and Quinton in the shop and they would look over occasionally but it took a while before they decided that they had time to help me. Installation of parts and raising of the forks appeared fine and I rode around content to and from work for about a week. I then took my bike in to Poway Motorcycle to get my suspension set up for my weight. When they lifted the suspension in the back, a loud clunking could be heard. It appears that the mechanic at Lee's did not install the metal spacer that runs between the bushings in the stock link. Talking to the guys at Poway Motorcycle (who are much more polite), they said that this is a very dangerous situation because the bolt could potentially shear off. I called Quinton at Lee's just now, and after talking to the mechanic, he apologized and did offer to refund the $100 that they charged me for labor. I told them that just needed to be more careful and doublecheck their work. I'm not going to bother going in to get the $100 back because I'm through dealing with them. read more

Lee's Cycle is topnotch. When I brought my bike in for the first time, it was for a tough-to-diagnose (and dangerous) poor running condition -- an easily exploited situation. But I got superb, honest service at a *very* good price, and my bike has been running great. I was totally won over, and recommend them unreservedly. The shop is also fun to check out -- lots of different sportbikes and a chill vibe. read more

My old roommate took his bike here to troubleshoot his Kawasaki ZX-6R he bought used. The bike was running very rich and was only getting low 20s MPG and sometimes even in the high teens. It should have been getting at least high 30s and low 40s the way he was riding it (not accelerating hard, shifting at mid RPMs). They took a look and did some work claiming it was all fuel map related. The bike did not operate any better nor get better gas mileage. If anything it was worse after they worked on it. On top of that the shop said that he needed to rev the bike more and accelerate harder to improve gas mileage. Anyone with common sense, knows that in all cases this will lead to using more gas not to mention quickly break the speed limit and risk breaking the law. I would do yourself and your bike a favor and stay far away from this shop. The reviews on Yelp have shown many horrible and disturbing things for a mechanic's shop. I had a weird noise coming from my 2003 Suzuki GSXR 600. It was getting pretty bad and I couldnt figure where it was coming from so I decided to give Lee's a try. I came down on Saturday and most shops arent open at 9am. Eric helped me offload my bike and get the process going. He told me upfront there were other customers and he wouldn't be able to work on it until Monday and depending on how things go it might to be Tuesday or Wednesday by the time I can pick it up. I thought that was cool he let me drop it off on a weekend and honest about the schedule. I had never met Eric before but he is very friendly and professional. I was impressed by the customer service so far and the shop is really nice. So Eric calls me early Monday and notifies that my chain and sprockets are worn. I asked him I have a sprocket can they use mine. He said yeah just bring it down. Most other shops don't let customers bring their own parts but Eric was cool with it and he checked it out that it was good. He asked which chain i wanted. So he works with you on what you want. He also mentioned my front brakes were worn. He had the brakes right there in his shop. My new chain he went to the place to pick it up that day. I was like wow I didn't ask for it to be fixed so soon. I get a call around noon time and my bike is all done and ready for pick up. He had my bike fixed so fast I was like this is really cool. He showed me the repairs they did and made suggestions on chain maintenance and what type of gas I should put in my bike. He even started my bike for me while I was donning my riding gear. That just goes to show how much he cares for his customer. I know this was a long review but it is the real deal. I rode the bike home and it felt better than It had ever before. I was expecting the bike to be a couple days out of service but Eric and lee's got the job done and I'm really impressed. I would definately recommend this place for anyone. read more
