Otherwise, they're placed in a paper baggie. We were trying to not be over gluttonous and got a coconut, mango filled and honey dipped. Went on a Sunday so not sure what other days are like but there was a long wait line outside but it moves pretty quick. Took us maybe 10 minutes to get in and order. They have a large selection but I only tried one donut I overheard in the line several times. The Bavarian Cream donut. It sounded legendary and it did not disappoint. I arrived at just the right moment, with no line in sight. The lady behind the counter was incredibly friendly and brimming with excellent recommendations. However, I decided to trust my instincts and ordered a single honey dip donut. The moment I took that first bite, I instantly regretted not ordering more. Freshness, value proposition and cheerful staff are what make this place a winner. Out of 6 donuts, 2 were above average rest were gimmicky and meh. Yes they were relatively fresh "presentation-wise" but the "Monster" and "Oreo" were both stale and regrettable. The "most popular" honey glazed is alright. We stopped by here around 9:30am and only had to wait around 5-10 minutes. We had heard the line can be quite long so it was lucky that we happened to come early. We ordered a half dozen donuts with some of the classic flavors like Honey Dip, chocolate frosting and Baverian cream. The Honey Dip just tasted like a regular glazed donut? Didn't really taste the honey at all, but honey is just sugar after all. Honestly their donuts are solid. They've got a wide variety of flavors such as matcha and gingerbread for the holidays. I just wouldn't wait in long lines. I think they hype got my hopes up, but the donuts were just okay. I thought they were good but not as good as they're hyped up to be. It just tastes like a fluffier version of a donut from a standard mom and pop donut shop. I am more into fancier donuts but if you like the standard donut shop donut, you will like these. My favorite was definitely the maple donut. The maple frosting is probably the best I've tasted... most likely because it's Canada. The line seems long but goes very fast, staff are friendly and efficient. There's a lot of choices. I accidentally ordered the matcha sugar one instead of the matcha frosting and didn't like it very much. I wouldn't recommend the matcha sugar one. It's worth trying to see what the hype is.... An instagrammable donut that is equally delicious as photographed. I grabbed a half dozen and slowly ate my way through the box--shares of course. The classic maple is not as sweet as you may be used to making a great balance of sweetness (sometimes I feel like I need to chug a gallon of water to dilute the sugar but it was not the case here!). The cream / jelly filled options are a must try. I've heard the lines are usually quite long but in a Sunday morning, it wasn't too bad--granted I got here when it was only open for a few hours. Standing in line you'll get to peer into the window to see all the donuts being carefully made and crafted by the team. It may be a little chilly standing outside so make sure you've got a jacket. At first glance, there was a very long line but was pleasantly surprised that it only took 10-15 minutes to get through. It was definitely worth the wait. The cashier was very helpful, efficient and quick in explaining to us the very different orders. We went with: raspberry filling, honey, cinnamon, house/plain and the crunch. Okay, it's worth the hype. I'm not the biggest donut fan, but I loved these donuts. The regular vanilla cake donut is one of the best cake donuts I've ever had. Maybe because it was fresh, but the donut had a nice crispy exterior, and a warm and soft interior. The donut wasn't too sweet either. The raspberry-filled yeast donut had a nice balance of jam and donut. It wasn't overly sweet as well. Service was friendly and the staff will take the time to describe the offerings. There's normally a line out the door and way down the property, but I got lucky during my last visit--which was especially odd considering it was a Saturday afternoon. Stopped by Lee's Donuts while visiting Granville Public Market. The line was out the door, but it moved quickly. They have a large variety of donuts available, but I ended up getting their classic honey dip, the Dutch chocolate, and a raspberry jelly filled donut. All the donuts were delicious. My favorite was the honey dip, which was extremely soft and basically dissolved in your mouth. The raspberry jelly donut was still warm when I got it, and it was also very good. Long lines, no problem! This place is worth it. You can bypass the lines by ordering online and going inside and picking it up but than you will miss watching them make those donuts and glaze them through the glass window. This part was fun as you see them processing a variety of donuts from scratch. Staff here are amazing. With nut allergies they were able to grab a freshly made donuts with zero cross contamination from the back. It's a very fast paced ordering process so you need to know what you want. Donuts are yum. My favorite was the maple and glazed. The chocolate one was really good as well. They all were good, hard to decided which one was the best. Our bellies were full and happy after lunch at the public market, and on the way out I saw a long line for Lee's Donuts, and oh my I just had to try it! I could smell the warm maple icing from afar and the line was moving pretty quickly! We only had room for 2 donuts so we got one of their #1 best selling, which was a honey dipped donut, and I got the maple icing. To be honest, the honey dipped was disappointing, it was not as fresh and the dough was not as fluffy as I had imagine! I think Kripsy Kreme is actually better. Solid donuts, with a very fun variety of flavors to choose from - the selection we tried, including Matcha and Reese's peanut butter weren't especially different from anything I've had before; tasty but a tiny bit on the dry side... Maybe we got there at an unlucky time, maybe we just didn't try the best of what they had to offer, but all in all they were still good, and it's a real cute spot. Not much in the way of seating or parking specifically for the donut shop but it's a section of a much larger market so no real reason to fault them for that, there's plenty of tables and benches nearby. Definitely worth a try if you're already visiting Granville Island - if I went again, I'd go out of my way to try the Honeydip #1 and the Bavarian Cream as recommended by other reviewers here :) read more

Lee's Donut in Granville Island. If you are in the market building you will see the store but the lineup (and there always is one apparently) starts at the side of the building. I got my donut 30 minutes before closing so there were only a couple of people ahead of me. I was alone and travelling so I only got 1 donut - coconut (just under 3 bucks). I've been to Vancouver a handful of times now but only in my last trip did I find out about Lee's Donuts. I can't believe it was kept a secret from me for so long! I love me some good donuts so when I heard this was a favourite place, I had to try it. Walking into the main area of Granville, we immediately saw a lineup for Lee's. Luckily they move fairly quickly so we were in and out in 10 min or so. There were so many options, I felt a bit of pressure to choose my flavours before it was my turn. If I had more time I definitely would have enquired about all the flavours they had that day. We walked out with a dozen donuts of all types of flavours. I couldn't tell you how many different ones we got anymore but I do know they had a lemon on that was delicious! All the donuts were soft and fresh and not too sweet. Definitely a treat though as they were HUGE! I will be back again to try more flavours and that yummy lemon one again =) read more

I had to try for myself what the fuss is all about. Thumbs up for the Raspberry glazed donut. I could taste the fruit and it has a good aroma about it. The honey dip donut however, I'm on the fence-it's alright. Freshness? Legit! The selections though is huge that I had to break it down to the most bought. I bought 2 donuts and I was satisfied. While preparing for my visit to Vancouver, I saw a ton of recommendations for this donut place. As a lover of donuts, I knew I had to come. We got there around 2PM and the line was LONG! It stretched all the way to the main entrance to the market. Although the line was initially intimidating, it moved fast and we were by the front within 15 minutes. I got the lemon filled, orange glazed, and blueberry filled. They lived up to my expectations! I appreciate that all the flavors were very prominent. I had the lemon and orange donuts the next day, and even being a day old, they were STILL some amazing donuts. Knocked a star off because they gave me the donuts in a really thin brown paper bag. Within a couple minutes, the oil started soaking through, which was a big turn off. Wish they also gave small boxes even for smaller orders. The lines are long for good reason, albeit it moves, and it helped I went on a weekday. The donuts are fresh, I saw them making batch after batch in the back. The thing that most impressed me was the warm raspberry jam in my jelly donut, that is a thing of beauty. In fact, all the donuts look beautiful. The way they glisten off the countertops, the glint of the glaze reflecting off the glass, it makes it hard to want just one. Everybody I saw in my line got at least two of these pastries. Lee's Donuts is a Granville Island institution and line ups are known to snake out the door. Thankfully we came on a quiet day and there was only two parties before us so we didn't have to wait in the cold. There was plenty to choose from but we limited ourselves to two. We got one Bavarian Filled and one Buttercrunch. Both are different in texture and flavor, but I liked that neither were too cloyingly sweet.
