It was half off somehow tonight so I paid seven bucks for a soda and access to all the machines which is what you get. Unlimited plays unlimited lives. Come have a free for all. They also had game night tonight. No particular reason for 4 stars except it's not the scene for everyone including myself since everyone is preoccupied with games. How FUN is this place!? Friends brought food they got down the street, I got food from the truck in the parking lot with friendly folks (note: they do not speak English so I got to practice my Spanish!) Going inside, I expected a bar with a few games, but it was like a time warp and wall to wall games....old school, my-time games (arcade, pin-ball, skeeball, table video games - there's also air hockey and foosball)....! I ordered a flight of beers, the Lemon Waves, the most expensive thing - Cheap Songs I (which is a sour and I did NOT like it, I don't like sours, so there's that, but I gave it to my friend - she loved it)... Also got the Honey something and the Green Bench lager. My favorite, hands down, was the Lemon Waves! Well, it's a Hefeweizen, so no wonder. We ate our food, we played games - started with Galaga (my all-time fave), and shared a $5.25 token pot (little cup with 22 tokens), Frogger, skeeball, Donkey Kong, the Elvira pin-ball machine (cuz she's the sexiest of them all and I got 11M points!)... They have a lot of the classics plus some rare finds (Ice Cold Beer, Tapper, etc IYKYK) They also have a large rotating selection of pinball machines which are always fun to try out. They host all sorts of events and have a food truck out front. Their beer menu is always fantastic and the bartenders are attentive and kind. Lately they have been running an $8 all you can play wristband which has me frequenting them more often! They always have great music and the whole place is decked out in nerd culture appropriately. Stopped in this past weekend with my 11 year old son to play some retro video games. We have been to the Replay Museum a few times and enjoy it, but games are always broken when we go in there. So, we decided to try LP. I wasn't sure if kids were allowed at first, but after a quick online search, I found something that said kids were allowed with parents until 9pm. We also took advantage of the $8 Play All Day offer they were running. The inside is very much a pub-style establishment, but with fun arcade-themed decorations. The bathroom was very clean, which was a nice surprise. The bartender, who we purchased our wristbands and swag from, was very welcoming and friendly. I grew up in the neighborhood and we had a pleasant conversation about all the changes over the years. LP has a list of video games and pinball machines on their website, and it appeared to reflect what they actually had. All machines were in working order, which was great considering many of them were 35+ years old. My son loves pinball, so we spent a lot of time at those machines as well. They were mostly modern machines. I also noticed drink stands next to each machine to help prevent damage from liquids. The food truck was closed while we were there (it was storming outside), so we couldn't sample any of the food (that's why I'm only giving it Four Stars). But overall, my son and I had a great time. Lowery Parcade was probably one of my favorite stops on our recent trip to Tampa. We had a big day at the theme parks and wanted a place to chill, have a few beers, and play arcade games. We actually lucked out coming on a Monday night because all the arcade and pinball games are unlimited play for $5. It is a bummer we got there later in the evening; regardless, we played until last call and had a great time. The staff are friendly, and the beer was delicious. We ordered the 12oz North Coast Old Rasputin Nitro Stout ($6.00) & 16oz Civil Society Beach Access American Lager ($7). The food looks good; unfortunately, we did not get to try any this time around. However, on my next visit, I look forward to ordering their pulled pork with honey bourbon sauce ($10) and smoked wings rubbed then fried ($10). All-in-all, Lowery Parcade is great place to get away from reality for a while, have a few beers with friends and enjoy some fun gaming. This is a fun place for gamers and non gamers. It's an easy place for a causal date or good place for older kids. I think kids can be there until 9 or so. They have quite a few arcade cabinet games and also quite a few pinball machines. Also skeeball, air hockey and bubble hockey. We had 3 adults and a 13 year old with us. Everyone had a great time. They have a pretty extensive beer selection and usually a food truck outside. They have many "free play" night for a straight fee and even karaoke. This place has so much potential. Just not quite 5 star yet. This is our first time here so we went up to the bar and got a drink. They have a nice selection of drinks and the bartender was very polite on answering my questions about the place. They have about 30 classic arcade machines, 15 pinball machines, an air hockey table, and a foosball table. I liked their variety of classic arcade games, from fighting games to shooting games. My favorite that night was Tetris and the Jurassic park game. We were sad there's no DDR, although that's been very hard to find now days. I was also hoping they have KillerQueen. I didn't like that some games cost more than 1 token and some machines ate my tokens. This place was cramped, they just need a bigger place. read more

I was searching online for something fun for my teen son and I to do together, when I stumbled upon Lowry Parcade. My son is also Autistic with fairly limited interests, and video games and Pokemon rate the highest and strongest in those interests. Today's video games are just out of my league with their 4 toggles, 8 buttons, 2 triggers and 2 paddles per controller. So I was excited to be able to show my son some games from "my time" and connect with him thru an activity that he would enjoy. And boy, this place did not disappoint! So even tho this is a bar, minors are allowed until 11 p.m. They have specials every night of the week, and Monday is free game play night. So we chose to check it out on a Monday. While they do say it's only a limited amount of machines set to free play, there wasn't very many free games. Only one pinball machine was set to free and a few arcade games. But, their prices are really great honestly. We played for 2 hours on $15, and we only played a couple free games. I'm not a fan of beer, but I really enjoyed their pear cider. My son got their rootbeer on tap, and said he really liked it. He got a kick out of sitting at the bar with me, drinking "beers" and playing Supersmash Brothers together. Bartenders were really nice. The atmosphere was relaxed and we even got to pet some fellow patrons dogs. What a great time! read more

This is my kind of hangout. Laid back, a really good cider on tap, friendly people, and tons of video and pinball games to play. It's so fun to be able to drink and play games. They conveniently have tables set up all around the games, so it's easy to put your drink on one of those instead of the actual game. Plus, you don't have to dig around for change either - they can give you tokens at the bar, and they also have a token machine that takes cash. I probably played more than my fair share of skee ball, but I also lost at Tales from the Crypt pinball, Donkey Kong, and some car game. While they don't serve food, I heard they frequently have food trucks. I had so much fun at Lowry Parcade! I visited around 6:00 pm on a Saturday with a group of 6. It was not busy. Maybe 5 other people in the place. This was great for us, less sharing of games! This place has old school arcade games from the 80's. Somehow they have a decent collection of old original games that still actually work. We did not have an issue with any games while we were there. I don't even remember that from when I was a kid. The service at the bar to get beer, water and tokens was fast. They have a really good selection of beer on draft as well. I most excited to play air hockey with my husband who I of course beat. We moved on to Tetris then Froger. So much fun! The games are original price so they still cost a token/quarter. There was a food truck outside serving Churros and a few other things but we did not order food. It was a really fun few hours. I would go here all the time if I lived closer. We discovered this place on a Brew Bus tour and I am so glad it was one of the stops. I grew up going to arcades and this has the feel of an arcade from the 80s/90s but also the good beer of now. Pinball and Ms Pacman are what I like to play the most, and you will find several pinball machines here as well as a Ms Pacman. Other classic games include Asteroids, Donkey Kong and I believe I saw Tron. They also have gaming machines for people to play using a big screen. If you want to sit down and chill out, there is seating out front and they have a food truck there as well (maybe not all the time but they did that night.) One thing I love about this place is they have skinny little tables next to the machines so you can put your beverage down instead of having to put on the floor and risk someone bumping into it. I think this would be a great place to go on a date or with friends. read more

What a great little bar/arcade hybrid. I wasnt sure what to expect from this place since it seems to be in a somewhat random location. However, when you enter you're surrounded by a lot of retro arcade goodness. There are a good variety of older arcade games like Ms Pacman, Joust to beat em ups from Konami like X-men , TMNT , and Simpsons, to my favorite genre, 1 on 1 fighting games. They also have an air hockey table in the middle and some pinball machines to wards the rear. They even have Nintendo consoles with certain games and a big screen TV. This place has 2 token change machines. the central one only takes $1 and the other takes other bills. They use tokens here not quarters FYI. One great thing is that all the games I played only needed 1 quarter/token. Very cool. For some reason, the X-men game gave 9 lives per token . I believe in the old days 1 quarter only gave life. Hey I'm not complaining though. Fighting games: Super Street fighter 2 Turbo, Marvel Vs Capcom 2, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, and an NEO GEO MVS Cabinet with KOF '94 - KOF 2003 There is a bar with one bartender. Unfortunately I was too busy enjoying the games that I didnt partake in any brews. Next time. The best thing is that all the buttons and joysticks worked. Like Arcade Odyssey in Miami, that is something that makes an arcade great. Cons The MVC2 machine screen is a bit dim. It would be nice if there were increased daytime hours. This was my last stop on a late Friday night Brew Bus for a friend's birthday. We had heard a lot about it before and decided it was a necessary stop on our route! Super awesome place!! Tons of games - pool tables, air hockey, foosball, pinball, arcade systems. And not to mention an outstanding list of craft beer taps to choose from. It's a large and dark indoor bar (looks smaller in the pictures) and is located off the beaten path near Lowry Park Zoo. You can earn game tokens depending on what beers you choose. On the particular Friday night I visited, it was very crowded, but the staff still did a great job of serving up cold brews pretty quickly. I was expecting a smaller venue based on the pictures and also some old gaming systems like NES or N64 (I recommend Right Around the Corner in St Pete if that's your thing). But was also pleasantly surprised by how this place really resembles a dingy old arcade from the 90s!!!! Very cool place and worth checking out read more

Lowry Parcade & Tavern has quickly became our favorite spot for date night! My husband and I love to compete against each other on the pinball and arcade games at Lowry Parcade & Tavern! The parcade carries 80's favorites such as Donkey Kong, Ms. Pac Man, and Galaga as well as a variety of newer arcade games and pinball machines. The games only cost a few quarters so we can easily play games for an hour or two for about $10. I'm a sucker for the skee-ball machine. The skee-ball machine dispenses tickets so be sure to win enough tickets for an awesome slap bracelet or ring pop! My husband's favorite game is Ice Cold beer. Speaking of beer, the bar has an excellent selection of craft beers on tap and in bottles. Since I'm pregnant and not currently drinking alcohol I usually order a fancy bottles orange soda or a black cherry soda on tap. This was my first time here recommended to me by my cousin. He is a Tampa resident and I was just hanging for the day. This was one of our stops as he was taking me on a grand tour of Tampa. Im so happy we came here, it brought me back to being a kid with pin ball machines, skee-ball, NFL blitz, mortal combat, pac-man, and many others! They have a wonderful craft beer selection to choose from on tap. And the bartenders were cool laid back individuals. We drank the founders Double Trouble. Fantastic beer! A must try. The vibe of this place is perfect for creating the ultimate past time gaming experience. The outside has a cool set up like Mario piping in the bushes, and metal cut outs of PAC-Man ! They also have a pool table if you want to take a break from the games. At the bar they have a wii set up to the TV's if you want to use a game with joysticks and play super smash!! For my 100th review I'm doing Lowry Parcade, i love this place. Growing up with games starting with getting dysentery on Oregon trail,this place is a utopia for arcade gamers. Donkey Kong,missile command,Street fighter, and many more old favorites abound. They have a pool table, air hockey, electric hockey,and skeeball for a good mix of other games. Who doesn't love skeeball! Pinball machines are scattered about as well with old and brand new(game of thrones) for your gaming pleasure. Also they have a Wii set up on the bar with Mariocart available to play for free. Yes i did say bar, how else can young hipsters enjoy the soul crushing defeat of classic arcade games than with a nice Ipa. The beer selection is always on point with many varieties of great local beers. I had a porter and a raspberry ale that paired perfectly with my victory at Skeeball.Music is retro on this Saturday afternoon with classic pop and rock hits playing. They have Nerd trivia and food trucks and someone was setting up a tent to sell some swag I think when we left at 6pm.
