I had lost my original key, and my mother couldn't find the extra key she had, so I wasn't able to move my car and as a result I got a ticket due to the street cleaning. This guy clearly doesn't need any more 5 star reviews, but he's getting another one here. I bought a used vehicle and the key that came with it was so worn that it was better suited as a toothpick. I called a few locksmiths to make a replacement and Mr. Lee stood out because he actually asked good questions, gave a few options, and was upfront about what he would and wouldn't be able to do. Not only was his price as competitive as the others, but I could tell he really knew his stuff and was being completely honest rather than just trying to win my business no matter what. So I scheduled the appointment and he showed up right on time, and within 10 minutes he had a new key cut and the chip re-coded. We tried it out and it worked flawlessly the first time. Brought that key over here along with my originals to see if I could get it cut and programmed. I was quoted $40. I came over on a Tuesday morning around 11:45 and I was in and out in about 30 minutes. Key was cut and programmed and I verified all my originals along with my newly cut switchblade. Most dealerships quoted me anywhere from $75-$150 to cut and program. The shop is in a small strip mall. Parking spaces are limited and tight. This review is for Mr. Sung Hwan K (aka Mr. Lee), who owns and operates Lee's Key & Locksmith. Let me preface this by saying I have never been so dissatisfied and angry with a service - however, I will try to keep this review as objective as possible. I had lost my original remote keys to my Subaru Impreza 2012, and only had a working valet key left. I needed a spare, so I contacted Mr. Lee to make a duplicate of my key. I bought a blank, aftermarket key on Ebay and I asked Mr. Lee if he would be able to use it to make a copy. He said he could do it as long as it had the 8-digit OEM number, which it did, so I made an appointment for 10:00 AM on Friday. When Mr. Lee arrived to the appointment, he took my blank key and cut it to fit the car. He also verified that my blank key was exactly the same as the blank key he had in stock - both used G 82 chips and had a valid OEM number. Mr. Lee then proceeded to plug his machine into my car and began programming the spare key. After 30 minutes and many failed attempts, it became obvious that Mr. Lee had no idea how to program the key to my car. He became increasingly frustrated, and around the 1 hour mark, he threw in the towel and told me he had never programmed a Subaru Impreza 2012 before, and he was just following manual instructions that he read up on the day before. But that's not the worst part... After all his guesswork, it turns out that Mr. Lee not only failed to program the spare key - he also erased all the other keys previously programmed to the car! Well now I'm screwed...I work both Saturday and Sunday and have no working keys for my car. Mr. Lee then called the customer service for his programming machine, who kept asking him, "Why would you erase the original key to the car?" Finally, Mr. Lee admitted he couldn't rectify the situation and called Triple A to have my car towed to the Subaru Dealership in Glendale. When we got to the Subaru Dealership, they told me they didn't have any appointments available until Monday. I must have sounded pretty desperate, though, because the Service Manager took pity on me and had a technician look at my car really quickly. Big shout out to this technician because he spent 20 minutes looking at my car and finally figured out the problem. He told me that Mr. Lee had inserted a bunch of junk codes into the car's computer, which was interfering with the original key functioning properly. The technician deleted all the junk codes, and lo-and-behold, the original key was working again! So, after 5 grueling hours and an impromptu trip in a tow truck, I was right back where I started - one working valet key and no backups. It couldn't get any worse...right? WRONG The next day after this fiasco, my dad messaged me saying that he had found one of the original remote keys I lost a while back. I was super happy at first, until I remembered that Mr. Lee erased all the keys to my car. I messaged Mr. Lee in the hopes that there was a possibility the key would still work, but he confirmed that he had erased everything. Not only that, but he responded by blaming me for the whole situation, and told me that it was my responsibility to pay to reprogram the key he erased. I could not believe he tried to turn the situation around on me - you can read my emotionally charged response to Mr. Lee below. So that's where the story ends...now I have to wait for my dad to send me the original remote key and take it back to the Subaru Dealership, where they will charge me $100+ to reprogram it. TLDR: Mr. Lee failed to duplicate my key, messed up my working valet key, and erased all other keys programmed into my car. Had my car towed to Subaru, where they fixed the original valet key. Dad found one of my previously lost remote keys which Mr. Lee had erased. Mr. Lee then blames me for everything and won't pay to have the key he erased reprogrammed. read more

I purchased key's off eBay for my 07 Honda Fit Sport. This particular year required a specific immobilizer chip (ID8E) that is very uncommon. The 2008 uses a more common RFID chip with the code ID46. Mr. Lee was not able to pair the keys to the computer of the car and told me about the issue. I contacted the eBay seller and they had in fact sent me the wrong key/ chip combo. I waited three weeks for the replacement chips and took it back to Mr. Lee today. It took him about 20 minutes to pair the keys but they worked this time around. Very fair prices compared to the dealership. Highly recommend him. Thanks for being patient! read more
