Jerry was courteous and professional when I needed his services to fix my' 09 Cobalt which had a rough idle and a Check Engine light on. He asked me to get the necessary parts for the tune up to expedite the repair and that he only had to charge for labor. He got my rough idle taken cared of with a tune up and replaced my spark plugs, capacitors, air filter and my accessory belt. For my Check Engine light he diagnosed one of my camshaft sensors was not working out and needed to be replaced. Went to the dealer, got my part and he swapped that bad boy out. Lee has done work on weekends and holidays, and may be able to accommodate you. He seems pretty honest about what needs to be done on your car and will walk you through the process. Actually, Lee is really easy to talk to and has a great personality. Although it's possible to have your car serviced at YOUR location (he's has a mobile van which will allow him to service your vehicle wherever you are), it's also possible to take your car to his house where he has more tools at his disposal. He mentioned that he charges like $60 to $80 dollars an hour, which I think is a bit much out here in pittsburg where there's a TON of good mechanics. However, he is trustworthy and is willing to go shopping with you at the store to get the parts you need. At the same time, that might be a slight draw-back since he won't buy the parts (and bill you later). Whatever, at least we got the parts we need. Additionally, he did some extra work for free which took time. That's nice. he ended up changing the breaks plus drums (totally rusted out) and changed a bunch of hoses out, some one which were "hard to get to". he also took out a metal cage which surrounded the van's rear windows (don't know why it was there, but we had him take it out). I was having an issue with a water pump and a window regulator for my BMW 325IT and a friend of a friend recommended Lee's service. I set an appt and dropped my car off at his residence. That day he contacted me and said that I gave him the wrong part and let me know where I could get the correct one. Unfortunately I was at work in San Francisco and could not get the part until the next day. Lee was kind enough to get the part that day and allowed me to reimburse him when the car was fixed. Lee contacted me that evening and let me know that my car was ready. I took delivery the next morning that everything worked to perfection. Lee does excellent business and if he cannot diagnose the problem he will tell you to take it to a dealer, get it diagnosed and bring it back to him so he can fix it at a cheaper price. Lee is a liar and scammer!!! He ripped my 18 yr old son off, and I am currently in the process of taking him to court to sue him!!! My son's car (that I drive as well) had been running hot and overheating, he told us that the issue was the thermostat, a hose, or water pump and suggested we replaced all. Once we replaced all the SAME issue reoccurred!! We then contacted him again and he then said the thermostat was faulty and we needed a new one. So using our lifetime warranty we replaced the thermostat! Then the SAME issue happened again, and Lee said that we needed a new radiator and that was the issue for sure. So my son bought the radiator! Lee installed the radiator and about two days later the car started to overheat again! So we contacted Lee and he told my son to find a way to drop the car off to him. My son dropped the car off to him on a Sat. Lee kept the car until Weds (4 days). He told me on that Monday that he was going to drive the car to work to make sure everything was okay. I never heard anything from him, so I texted him and said "what is going on with the car?" He called me about a couple of hours later asking me for my son's phone number (which he already had btw) I then proceeded to inquire about the car that both me and my son shared! He told me that he wanted to talk to my son and wasn't going to tell me anything! At that point I was skeptical and very confused as to why the sudden change in communication and why the sudden change in his rude attitude!? I told him that his response was unacceptable! He said that it wasn't! I felt like he was trying to be sneaky, because he knew that my son was young and didn't have a clue about cars, or a clue about what right questions to ask! But I still provided him w/his number and proceeded to listen to him from my son's speakerphone! He told my son that he had to do some "rig em up" job and put a hole in the thermostat! He then told him that he needed to raise the price from $160 to $190 because he had to get the car towed using his AAA while testing it out. Which was also unacceptable! He then proceeded to say that the car would last about another couple of months because there was a head gasket blown. So he wasted our money on the radiator, etc. If he didn't know what was wrong he should have said so! He didn't want to continue to speak to me because I ask questions that he knew my son wouldn't and my son was not knowledgeable when it came to cars! He began to yell at me and tell me that I irritated him because I asked questions and that's why he wanted to talk to my son!!! Now we are out of a car! So I proceeded to contact him and ask him for our money back and he told me not to contact him!!! THIS MAN IS A FRAUD AND SCAMMER AND I AM IN THE PROCESS OF SUING HIS ASS!!! DO NOT, I REPEAT...DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS MAN!!! I should have known he was trash when he told me someone else had filed a lawsuit against him!!! THIS GUY IS OUT FOR MONEY!!! Seriously the nicest mechanic I've ever met. Did not take advantage of my mother and I who know nothing about cars. He was way cheaper than expected and worked on the weekend. I would definitely use Jerry again to repair my car. Called him Sunday morning and he returned my call that afternoon/evening. Set-up an appointment for the next morning at 9:30. He showed up a few minutes late (9:50), but no big deal. His diagnostic/trip fee was reasonable ($25) based on the fact that he lives less than a mile from me, but was not applied toward repair like most other mechanics. After testing my car out (overheating), he took it home for further diagnosis and repair. A few hours later it was ready and he returned it to my home. Overall, the price was reasonable considering it was a sensor that needed replacing (15-20 minute job) and he picked up the part himself, but I felt his hourly rate was a little steep ($80). I paid $20 parts, $80 labor and $25 diagnostic fee for the convenience of having the mechanic come to me. 4-stars for the hourly rate & for diagnostic NOT being applied toward final repair bill. Horrible business person. My check engine light was on. I called Lee Mobile Auto Repair at 331-7521 and spoke to a man named Lee. During my search for mobile mechanics, I called another number and was told by a gentleman to call Jerry. When I called there was no answer. The person called me back and said his name was Jerry and he had spoken to me already. I was confused and did not know who he was and he said I was talking crazy and hung up on me. When I called Lee Mobile back to get my car fixed, he said I was the one talking crazy and he was one in the same person and refused to fix my car. FYI - Lee Biz name and Jerry real name - If this is how you treat new customers who do not know you, then you did me a favor. I called a true mobile mechanic who came to my house and fixed my car.
