    Lo mein

This place was a total letdown for me for a couple of reasons. Firstly, had a taste for turkey necks & they had none. So opted for a small gumbo & a small lo mein. Next, gumbo had a gelatinous gravy/soup-ish thing going on...very weird. The noodles had a smell that was also super weird, needless to say, lunch was a no-go. For the good, it was very steady & busy and also very clean. I liked that people couldn't get close up to the food. But why cash only?!?

Nice clean place. Good portions and the food was good. The big thing for me was that they only take cash. So if you don't have cash you have to use the ATM machine and pay the fee to get cash. So if you plan on going stop to the bank before you get there.

They have a nice new location across the street from the old one on Williams Blvd now. The portions and prices have remained the the same fortunately. The only improvement I would recommend is additional seating. Now for the food I had red beans & rice with a Hot sauage dressed on bun. Beans were a just OK but u received a large portion & you can't really jack up a Hot sausage sandwich so they remain consistent in my book. The other hot foods on display were looking good as always.

Have a bit of a crowd so I'm guessing it's good. Stay tune

The only reason why I'm giving this place 3stars is because of the incident Monday. My time was wasted. If I had known prior to walking in and waiting in line that only cash would be expected I would have never entered in the building. Food was good. However I was a bit confused about the chicken parts. Establishment was very clean and staff was friendly

Had some time to kill before the flight and yelp led me here. Place has a interesting array of comfort food. I tried the pork and it was so tender! Anyone who has time to kill at the airport should try this place. Just take the E2 bus for $1.50 or an Uber for $5 or walk 1 mile.

Grilled fish! Rice! Steaks! Huge portions and great taste. And who would think you could get a great bell pepper from a place like this damn. Oh yea a brownie topped with oooeeyyy goooeeyyy cake!

The culprit: ribs, chicken, macaroni, and fried rice

I had the shrimp and fish plate. It was tasty and the portion size was great. The only downside is they were only accepting cash.

We got a bunch of appetizers: calamari wings, garlic, fries, and garlic noodles, and they were all great though the garlic noodles were probably my least favorite. Crawfish wise, we ended up getting 5 pounds of the Viet Cajun and 5 pounds of the EZ blend along with sides of corn, sausage and potatoes. Everything was great and had a lot of flavor, and we were pretty surprised by the size of the crawfish. I really enjoyed both flavors though if I had to pick, I would say the Viet Cajun was better and had more flavor. My table had four of us and we weren't able to finish everything. Overall, this spot was delicious and I love all of the variety. I love variety and options, so I will say that I wish there were more flavor options for the crawfish!

First mistake, improperly bagged, shrimp juice was on my floor board and coming through the bag, and also got on other groceries in my truck. Second mistake, the shrimp were turning amber already and not a white flesh with blue tint and a fresh sweet smell, the shrimp shells were soft, (2 day cell break down) and very smelly. Another insider, once rinsed thoroughly, they began to become slimy, so really he purposely is water logging them, because there going bad, I call them about the shrimp, the lady feels personally attacked, after simply explaining the quality of the shrimp, and that I didn't want my money back, her tone and attitude shifting and I went to stop her and ask her why she's sounding upset, she escalates it, then ends up hanging up on me. I show up, nicely ask for a manager, she immediately expresses negative energy and defends herself hanging up, I say nothing and she gets the man in charge. Long story short I went to explain and show him the shrimp, you can see clear as day, BROWN DIRTY SHRIMP WATER WITH BARELY ANY ICE, to add also the sizes were not all large at all, and contained excess shells I didn't ask to pay for. The guy there in charge proceeds to dismiss me entirely very rude, and even gets hostile stepping into my space inches from me. This is what I get for coming to buy shrimp, havnt been here in a year to buy fresh seafood, and I get zero customer service and a very hostile gm or co owner. What ever he is. What's funny is he has the calls recorded and video, but also threatened to call the cops on me responding to his remarks as I'm getting my money back, but there the victim?? SERIOUSLY PSYCHO PEOPLE.. really am Shocked. Over 15 years in FINE DINING, in New Orleans, never in my life have I been attacked over quality of product. I acted professional and expected the same. If I was such a problem why did the sweet lady trying to give me my refund, HAD TO TELL THE GUY AND THE RUDE MANAGER, to go in the back??? lol literally stuff you can't believe you usually just see on tv. Don't believe me?? Watch 24 hours to hell and back, people really act like this. If I was lying, why did I get a refund? Why did he give me a refund when I never asked for one? If the shrimp were fresh, why didn't he inspect them right off the bat?? Because he dealing with someone who knows everything about seafood and he's cutting corners and being lazy with his product, and his pride and obvious short falls made him explode, a 47 year old man. One restaurant that locals constantly recommended to me was Drago's Seafood in Metairie, and now I completely understand why. I ordered the charbroiled oysters along with the crawfish platter that came with crawfish étouffée, crawfish mac and cheese, and fried crawfish. Every single thing on the table was incredible. The charbroiled oysters absolutely lived up to the hype rich, buttery, smoky, and packed with flavor. The crawfish platter was just as impressive and gave me a chance to try multiple Louisiana dishes all in one meal. What really stood out to me beyond the food was the service. The staff was extremely friendly, welcoming, and patient with questions from someone who isn't from Louisiana and still learning the local food scene. You can tell they take pride in both the restaurant and the hospitality. The only downside is parking can get a little complicated because the place fills up fast, which honestly says a lot about how popular it is. Just plan ahead or expect a short wait finding a spot. Overall, this is one of those restaurants that feels genuinely loved by locals and absolutely worth visiting if you're traveling through the New Orleans area.

This is an extremely casual place, that is both a seafood market and restaurant. I chose to lunch in. The service is friendly and familiar. I felt just as welcomed as the regulars. The menu is full of tempting selections, but knew a few things I wanted. I started off with a cup of seafood gumbo. After the first bite, I regretted not getting a bowl! Next time! It was rich and flavorful, and was clearly not rushed. Next, I also tried the chicken and andouille gumbo. Also excellent, but just slightly shy of the seafood version. The main portion of the meal was what I came for: the crawfish boil. I asked for spicy, and was informed there was only "just right," and they were correct. Initially, I was surprised that the dish came out warm, but not hot, but that, too, was just right. Oh, and the price! Usually, when you see "market price," you expect to lighten your wallet a bit, but in this case, that meant $5.99 for pound. It's crawfish season, I'm told, but still.... I'm used to paying a lot more. The decor is vintage jazz festival posters. Also, since this Women's History Month, the place is women-owned
